INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

WARNING: Do not leave the Cheese Melter unattended when it is switched on.
CAUTION: The metal surfaces of the appliance become hot during use. Do not touch the appliance while it is in use.

When you switch on the appliance for the first time there may be a slight burning smell. This is normal for a new product and will disappear after a few uses. We advise heating up the Cheese Melter empty on first use for about 10 minutes. Ventilate the room during this period.

PLACING THE RACLETTE CHEESE ON THE HOLDER
  • To secure raclette cheese onto the cheese holder, place the cheese on a clean, flat surface.
  • Lift the cheese holder off the slider and insert all 4 prongs into the outer edge of the cheese rind so that the exposed side(s) of the cheese will sit parallel to the heat.
  • Insert the holder with cheese back onto the slider on the base.
  • Switch on the appliance using the On/Off switch at the back of the appliance.
  • Cheese takes approximately 15 minutes under the heat before the first portion is ready to serve. Small wedges of cheese will take longer as they will sit further away from the heat. If you want the cheese to melt quicker, hold the cheese on the cheese holder up to the heat/heating element using the handles. Keep hands away from the heat.
  • The Cheese Melter works best with either a small half wheel or large wedge of raclette cheese with rind so the cheese sits closer to the heat.
  • Place a small plate on the base unit at the bottom of the melting cheese to catch drips whilst melting.

HINTS AND TIPS

  • We recommend only using raclette cheese.
  • The Cheese Melter works best with either a small half wheel or large wedge of raclette cheese with rind so the cheese sits closer to the heat, and the rind helps to secure the cheese on the holder.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Question: Why is the Cheese Melter not working?
Answer: Check that the plug is turned on at the wall socket.

Question: Why is the cheese not melting?
Answer: The raclette cheese on the cheese holder may be too small to gain enough heat from the heating element. Lift the cheese holder by the handles and carefully hold closer to the heating element. Keep your hands away from the heating element as this is very hot, use oven gloves to protect yourself.

Question: Why is the cheese slider not moving freely?
Answer: There may be dirt and build up of cheese in the slider track. Once cooled down, remove the slider track and clean. To help prevent build-up of cheese, place a small plate at the bottom of the melting cheese to catch drips.
