Steel-Line SPRINT800 Sectional Garage Door Opener

For use with SD/RD/SPRINT800/1200 Garage Door Openers. When the Personal Identification Number (PIN) has been entered and the enter button has been pressed on the Keypad the door opener activates.

SAFETY

Failure to comply with these safety recommendations may result in serious injury or death

  • This appliance is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Wireless keypad must be installed within sight of the garage door at a minimum height of 1.5m, away from all moving door parts.
  • Door should be activated only when it can be seen clearly and there are no obstructions. Ensure the door remains in sight until it comes to a complete stop.
  • Never permit anyone to cross the path of a moving door.

OPERATION

The Wireless Keypad operates on four channels. This enables you to code four different PIN’s to open four different doors, as an example (one PIN per channel).

A PIN can be between 2 and 6 digits long. To operate the opener enter the channel number, for example 1, followed by the PIN and then ENTER on the keypad.

When entering a combination of numbers, no more than 6 seconds can elapse between keystrokes or you will need to begin entering the combination of numbers again.

The Keypad has been factory programmed with the following codes which must be changed before programming to door opener:

  • Channel 1 is 11
  • Channel 2 is 22
  • Channel 3 is 33
  • Channel 4 is 44

To change the factory programmed combination

Channel 1 used in this example (if using a different channel, substitute appropriate code above)

  1. Press and hold the ENTER key until all lights turn off (then lights will flash steady)
  2. Type in original code (11) and press ENTER
  3. Type in channel number (1) followed by new PIN (for example 1234) and press ENTER If code has been successfully modified the lights will flash and turn on steady.

NOTE: If combinations are set without entering any number, the security system is effectively overridden and the command can be transmitted simply by pressing ENTER without having to first enter a combination. If this occurs restore factory settings and reprogram.

Installation

  • Before mounting test the unit to ensure the selected position will be in range, remembering that the range may be reduced by around 25% with low battery.
  • The Keypad should not be mounted in contact with metal structures which could result in a signal shielding effect.
  • The Keypad has an IP rating of IP54 and is suitable for outdoor installation, if required.

PROGRAMMING TO OPERATE DOOR OPENER

  1. The door opener must be in LEARN mode. Follow instructions for coding additional hand transmitters in the Installation & Operating Instructions
  2. Once in LEARN mode, type in the channel number followed by the PIN into the keypad and press ENTER
  3. Repeat this step again- type in the channel number followed by the PIN into the keypad and press ENTER
  4. Complete the coding procedure (if required) as per the Installation & Operating Instructions for the opener.

This procedure must be carried out quickly to ensure the opener does not time out.

RESTORING KEYPAD TO FACTORY SETTINGS

  1. Remove the back cover and locate the red button at the bottom of the circuit board
  2. Press and hold until all keypad lights turn off, start flashing and turn on steady.
Keypad has now been restored to factory programmed codes.
