To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate this product. This will assure you years of trouble free performance and listening pleasure.

This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference.

  • The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing or placed in a humid atmosphere such as a bathroom.
  •  Do not install the product in the following areas:
    • Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to radiators.
    • On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat.
    • Blocking ventilation or in a dusty area.
    • Areas where there is constant vibration.
    • Humid or moist places.
  •  Do not place near candles or other naked flames.
  •  Operate the product only as instructed in this manual.
  •  Before turning on the power for the first time, make sure the power adaptor is properly connected.

For safety reasons, do not remove any covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the product. Refer any servicing to qualified personnel.
Do not attempt to remove any screws, or open the casing of the unit; there are no user serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Read Instructions -All the safety and operating instructions must be read before the product is operated.
  2. Retain Instructions -The safety and operating instructions should be kept with the product for future reference.
  3. Heed warnings-All warnings on the product and in the operating instructions should be adhered to.
  4. Follow instructions -All operating and users’ instructions should be followed.
  5. Installation -Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Power sources -This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated by the marking adjacent to the power cord entry. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local power company.
  7. Grounding or polarization -the product is not required to be grounded. Ensure that the plug is fully inserted into the wall outlet or extension cord receptacle to prevent blade or pin exposure. Some versions of the product are equipped with a power cord fitted with a polarized alternating line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit onto the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug. When using an extension power-supply cord or a power-supply cord other than that supplied with the appliance, it should be fitted with the appropriate molded plugs and carry safety approval appropriate to the country of use.
  8. Power cord protection -Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on, kinked or pinched by items placed on or against them, paying particular attention to cords from plugs, receptacles and the point where they exit from the product.
  9. Overloading- Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or multiple sockets, as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
  10. Ventilation -The product must be properly ventilated. Do not place the product on a bed, sofa, or other similar surface. Do not cover the product with any items such as tablecloths, newspapers, etc.
  11. Heat -The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products, including amplifiers that produce heat. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
  12. Water and moisture-To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the product to train, dripping, splashing or excessive moisture such as in a sauna or bathroom. Do not use this product near water, for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool (or similar).
  13. Object and Liquid Entry- Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings, as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-circuit parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product. Do not place any object containing liquid on top of the product.
  14. Cleaning- Unplug the product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Dust in the woofer may be cleaned with a dry cloth. If you wish to use an aerosol cleaning spray, do not spray directly on the cabinet; spray onto the cloth. Be careful not to damage the drive units.
  15. Attachments – Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer, as they may cause hazards.
  16. Accessories – Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the product. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.
  17. Moving the product-A product and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force and uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart combination to overturn.
  18. Unused periods-The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet during lightning storms or when the apparatus is left unused for a long period of time.
  19. Servicing- Do not attempt to service this product yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  20. Please remove the power plug form the main power source or wall power source when not in use. When plugged in to a power source, the system is in standby mode, so the power is not entirely cut off.
  21. Replacement parts -When replacement parts are required, ensure that the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards.
  22. Mains fuses – For continued protection against fire hazard, use fuses only of the correct type and rating.
  23. Do not turn up the volume while listening to a section with very low level inputs or no audio signals. If you do, the speaker may be damaged when a peak level section is suddenly played.
  24. The only means of completely disconnecting the product from the power supply is by removing the power cord from the wall outlet or the product. The wall outlet or the power cord entry to the product must remain freely accessible at all times while the product is in use.
  25. Try to install the product near a wall socket or extension cord and shall be easily accessible.
  26. The highest environmental temperature suitable for this product is 35°C.
  27. ESD hints- If the product maybe reset or not reset to operation of control due to electrostatic discharge, just switch off and reconnect again, or move the product to another location.
  28. Battery
  29. The batteries must not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
  30. The batteries should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
  31. Battery usage CAUTION-to prevent battery leakage which may result in body injuries, property damage, or damage to the apparatus:
  * Install all batteries correctly,+ and -as marked on the apparatus.
  * Do not mix batteries (old and new or carbon and alkaline, etc.)
  * Remove batteries when the unit is not used for a long time.

WARNING
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  1. To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long time periods respectively a sudden high volume level.
  2. Never use the device unsupervised! Switch off the device whenever you are not using it, even if this only for a short while.

  7. The apparatus must not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that objects filled with liquids, such as vases, must not be placed on the apparatus.
  8. To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this equipment to hot places, rain, moisture or dust.
  9. Do not locate this unit near any water sources e.g. taps, bathtubs, washing machines or swimming pools. Ensure that you place the unit on a dry, stable surface.
  10. Do not place this unit close to a strong magnetic field.
  11. Do not place the unit on a amplifier or receiver.
  12. Do not place this unit in a damp area as the moisture will affect the life of electric components.
  13. If the system is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is placed in a very damp room, moisture may condense on the lens inside the player. If this occurs, the system will not operate properly. Please leave the system turned on for about an hour until the moisture evaporates.
  14. Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents as this might damage the finish. Wipe with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth.
  15.  When removing the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull directly on the plug, never pull on the cord.
  16. The mains plug is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device must remain readily operable.

We have tried to make the packaging easy to separate into three materials: cardboard (box). polystyrene foam(buffer) and poly ethylene (bags, protective foam sheet). COMPACT DISC MAINTENANCE
  1. Always use a compact disc bearing the mark as shown.
  2. Notes on handling discs
    • Store discs in their case when not in use.
    • Do not touch the reflective recorded surface.
    • Do not stick paper or write anything on the surface.

HANDLE DISC ONLY AS SHOWN

  1. Storage

    • Store the disc in its case.
    • Do not expose discs to direct sunlight or high temperatures, high humidity or dusty
      DO NOT STORE NEAR HEAT
  2. Cleaning a disc

    • Should the disc become soiled, wipe off dust, dirt and fingerprints with a soft cloth.

    • The disc should be cleaned by wiping in a straight line from the center to the edge.

    • Never use benzene, thinners, record cleaner fluid or anti-static spray.

    • Be sure to keep the CD compartment door closed when not in use to keep it clean from dust and other contaminants.

    • Do not touch the lens.

ERP2 (Energy Related Products) note:
This product with ECO design complies with the stage 2 requirement of Commission Regulation( EC) NO.
1275/2008 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC regard to standby and off mode electric power consumption of electronic household and office equipment. After 60 minutes without any audio input, the device will automatically switch into standby mode. Follow up the instruction manual to resume the operation.
Please note that low volume setting in the audio source may be recognized as” no audio signal”” this will affect the capability of signal detection from the device and can also originate an automatic switch into standby mode. If this happens please reactivate the audio signal transmission or increase the volume setting on the audio source player( mp3 player etc.), in order to resume playback, please contact the local service center if the problem remains.

POWER SOURCE
This unit is designed to be operated on AC/DC.

AC OPERATION
Plug the tail of supplied AC power cord into AC socket on unit and the plug into household AC outlet. The batteries will be automatically disconnected.

DC OPERATION
Open the BATTERY COMPARTMENT door. Install 6pcs UM-2″C”size batteries (not included) into compartment. Please follow correct polarities as indicated.

NOTE: when using battery, take off the AC cable from unit.

CAUTION

  • Remove batteries if they are flat or not being used for a long period of time.
  • Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed of properly.

BASIC FUNCTION

SWITCHING ON THE UNIT
After connecting the power, press STANDBY button to turn on the unit. Press the FUNCTION button on unit to choose

CD/USB/BLUETOOTH/RADIO/AUX function.
VOLUME ADJUSTING
Rotate the VOLUME knob on unit to increase or decrease volume.

CD/MP3 OPERATION
Discs for Playback
This system can playback all digital audio CD/MP3, finalized digital audio CD- Recordable (CD-R) discs, finalized digital audio CD-Rewritable (CD-RW) discs and CD-DA format digital audio CD/CD-R/CD-RW discs.

**LOADING A DISC

**

  1. Press the FUNCTION button on unit to select “CD” mode.

  2.  Press the PUSH TO OPEN button to open the CD door, “OP” will be shown on the display.

  3. Place an audio CD/MP3 DISC into the tray with the front side facing up.

  4. Close the CD door.
    The display will show a flashing “CD- – —“, then the total number of tracks would be shown and the playback will start from track.

  5. To remove the CD, press STOP button to turn off the unit, then press the PUSH TO OPEN button to open the CD compartment lid. Hold the CD by its edges, and take it out carefully.

NOTE

  1. Make sure the disc is stopped before opening the CD DOOR.
  2. To ensure good system performance; wait until the unit completely reads the disc before further operation.
  3. If no disc loaded into the tray, or the disc is unreadable, the display will show “NO”.
**PLAYING A DISC

**

  1. To pause playback, press button on unit. The current playing time will flash on the display. To resume playback, press button on unit again.
  2. To stop playback, press button on unit.

SELECTING A DESIRED TRACK/PASSAGE

  • To select a desired track
    Press the or HIii button on unit on stop mode or during playing until the desired track appears on the display. It will start play automatically.

  • To search for a particular passage during playback (track scanning at high speed)
    Press and hold the or HIii button on unit to scan the current playing track at high speed until desired point (passage) appears, then release the button for normal playback mode. Playback will start again from this point.

  • To select a song which track number exceeds 10 ( for MP3 disc only)
    To select a song/track which number exceeds 10, press the FOLDER/1 O+ button each time to skip forward 10 tracks, then press the button to select desired track.

  • To select a desired folder ( if the disc contains more than one folder)
    To select a desired folder, press and hold the FOLDER/1 O+ button first, then short press this button to switch the playing music between folders. Then press the button to select desired track.

PROGRAMING TRACKS

Programming tracks of disc are possible when playback is stopped. Up to 20 tracks for CD disc and 99 tracks for MP3 disc can be stored in the memory in any order.

  1. In stop mode, press the PROG. button on unit enter program setting, the P logo will show on the display and P01 will flash.
  2. Press the  button on unit to select the first desired track to be programmed. (example: track 2)
  3. Press the PROG. button on unit to enter. The display would flash P02.
  4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 to store other desired tracks until all tracks programmed.
  5. Press the button on unit to start playback from the first programmed track.
  6. Press the button on unit to stop program playback. To clear the program, you may press button on unit when the disc stopped and open the CD compartment lid, the program will be erased.

REPEAT PLAY
You can play one track or all tracks on the disc repeatedly.
To Repeat a Single Track

  1. Press P-MODE button on unit during play, the display will show a flash” c..-:> “and the current track will be played over an over again till you press the ■ button on unit.
  2. To cancel repeat play, press P-MODE button on unit until” c..-:> “disappears from the display.

To repeat all the Tracks

  1. Press P-MODE button on unit until the” c..-:> “shows steadily on the display, all tracks on the disc will be played over and over again till you press the ■ button on unit.
  2. To cancel repeat play, press the P-MODE button on unit until” C..’ disappears from the display.

To repeat the folder (only for MP3 disc which contains more than one folder)

  1. Press the P-MODE button on unit until” c..-:> FOLDER “show steadily on the display, the current folder will be repeated over and over again till you press the ■ button on unit.
  2. To cancel repeat play, press the P-MODE button on unit until” c..-:> FOLDER” disappear from the
    display.

RANDOM PLAY
Press the P-MODE button on unit in play mode till the”RAND”shows steadily on the display, the random play will start from next track automatically, until all tracks are played over and then it will stop. Press the P-MODE button on unit again until the”RAND”disappears from the display to cancel.

USB OPERATION

  1. Press the FUNCTION button on unit to select”USB” mode.
  2. Connect the USB with stored MP3 music to the USB port. The LCD will show the total number of tracks stored in the USB. The playback stars from track 1 automatically after reading the USB.
  3. To pause playback, press HI / Obutton on unit. The current playing time will flash on the display. To resume playback, press HI/ Obutton on unit again.
  4. Press the ■ button on unit to stop playing. The display will show total number of USB and STOP.
  5. Proceed program play/repeat play (repeat 1- repeat folder – repeat all)/random play operation as the same described in above”CD/MP3 OPERATION”.

CAUTION: To connect the USB sticker by USB extension cable Is not recommended which may get intermittent sound due to loss during the data transportation.

RADIO OPERATION TUNING RADIO STATIONS
  1. Press the FUNCTION button on unit to select FM Radio.
  2. Tune to desired station by rotating the TUNING knob on unit, the display will show the band frequency. Example: FM 97.10 MHz.
  3. To optimize reception when listening to stations on the FM band, extend the telescopic antenna to its full length, or put the unit next to the window for better reception.
  4. To turn off the radio, press the FUNCTION button to switch to other functions or press STANDBY button to turn off the unit.

BLUETOOTH OPERATION

  1. Press the FUNCTION button on unit to switch to BLUETOOTH function, the LCD will display ” BT” and the PAIR indicator will flash at high speed which means the unit is ready to pair.

  2. Turn on the Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth device, scan and select the unit name
    ” BLAUPUNKT BB20BT “on the Bluetooth device menu list for pairing ( input the password 0000 in case of a POP password required}, the blue light will light up and become steady to indicate the connection is done, and the display will show” BT “. Press button on the unit or play key on your Bluetooth device to select music and start playback.

  3. Rotate the VOLUME knob to your desired level.

  4. Press orM-11 button on the unit or next/previous key on your Bluetooth device to choose the desired track.

  5. To stop playback, press button on the unit or pause key on the device.

  6. Press and hold button can make the unit disconnect with current Bluetooth device and start to search another device for pairing.

Note: The Bluetooth best working distance is within 10 meters between your Bluetooth device and speaker.

AUX-IN OPERATION
  1. Press the FUNCTION button to select “AUX” mode.
  2. Insert the AUX line plug into the AUX IN jack (<D3.5mm) on the player, music from the device would be amplified and exported from the speakers.
  3. Adjust the volume on the unit or on the device to your desired level.
  4. Proceed play/pause and next/previous on the device.
HEADPHONE JACK

For private listening, insert a 3.5mm headphone (not included} into the HEA DPHONE jack. The SPEAKER output would be automatically cut off.

CAUTION: LISTENING AT A HIGH VOLUME OVER A LONG PERIOD IS NOT GOOD FOR YOUR EARS.

Troubleshooting

  1. The display cannot light on.
    Answer: Please check if the AC/DC was connected properly.

    • Please repress the standby power button.
    • Please contact local service center for further information.
  2.  The FM reception is not good.
    Answer: Please try to full extent the telescope antenna and adjust the direction of antenna.

    • Please try to move the unit to another location or next window.
  3.  The unit cannot play CD disc or intermittent sound.
    Answer: Please check if the CD disc was loaded in a correct direction.

    • Please check the unit was switched to CD mode.
    • Please check the CD disc face if there have any scratch on it, and try another CD disc.
  4. The sound intermittent in Bluetooth playback mode.
    Answer: please try to put the Bluetooth device more close to the speaker.

  5.  There is no sound output.
    Answer: Please try to adjust he volume knob.
    Please check the battery power, the volume will become small when the battery power is too low. Please contact local service center for support.
