Instructions Manual

WARNING!
FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE PROCEEDING.
FOLLOW ALL LOCAL CODES. VERIFY THAT POWER IS OFF BEFORE PROCEEDING.
MAKE SURE YOU USE PROPER RATED WIRE.

NOTE: WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU ENGAGE A QUALIFIED, LICENSED ELECTRICIAN. MODIFYING OR DISASSEMBLING BEYOND  INSTRUCTIONS WILL VOID THE WARRANTY FOR THIS PRODUCT.
DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM RUN OF TAPE THAT YOU APPLY TO THE DMX DECODER. DO NOT INSTALL IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT  IS OUTSIDE THE LISTED AMBIENT TEMPERATURE FOR DECODER, CONTROLLER (BY OTHERS) AND RGBW LED TAPE, AND IN AN  AREA THAT IS NOT EASILY ACCESSED FOR SERVICE REQUIREMENTS.

Layout

Your DMX-controlled RGBW tape layout is dependent on factors that are addressed by the instructions that come with the tape. Use of channels, mounting of power supply, and connecting portions of the tape to create an application may pertain to your DMX layout. Always determine the placement of components first, and then proceed to wire and secure components to the surface.

Wiring 12VDC / 24VDC Power Supply

NOTE: Use only GM LineDRIVE™ Electronic Non-Dimming power supplies to activate a 3-year warranty.
Wire power supply to DMX decoder POWER terminals using wiring schematic pictured at right. Fig. 1. Make sure that the power supply is located in an area that is dry and accessible for service. Mount power supply in accordance with its instructions.

Connecting Controllers (by others)

Whether you use wall-mounted or computer controllers

  • this integral part of your DMX system must be connected correctly. Any 12V / 24V wall controller will work. For a computer or laptop, please consult the owner’s manual and software instructions. Connect controllers to DMX IN/OUT terminals. DO NOT POWER UP THE CONTROLLER OR CONTROL  SOFTWARE UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO TEST DMX SYSTEM.

Connecting LTR-S-RGBW Tape to DMX Controller.

Follow schematic at right closely. Connect tape to power connectors supplied at start of tape run to DMX controller.
Make sure that all leads are securely captured by terminals (V+ = Black, 1 = Green, 3 = Blue, 4 = White, 5 = CCT (optional)).

Test Your DMX System
Before the permanent mounting tape, take a moment to test the system. Apply power to 12V or 24V power supply. Plugin wall controller (by others).
Consult instructions that come with the controller to power switch on.
Make sure that the tape illuminates. If it does not, retrace your steps to ensure that all connections are made carefully.
If the system is working, permanently mount tape as shown in tape instructions.
You can self-test by holding▲▼  for 3 seconds. (Red, Green, Blue, White).
