INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the SubZero HiCast S84 4.1 PA System. To get the most out of your new product, please read this manual carefully.

OVERVIEW – SUBWOOFER

  1.   MAIN LEVEL CONTROL Controls the overall output volume (subwoofer and speakers).
  2. SUB LEVEL CONTROL Controls the output volume of the subwoofer.
  3. SUB PHASE Shifts the phase of the subwoofer by 180°. (Use this function if the speakers and subwoofer are creating the effect of cancelling each other out).
  4. BLUETOOTH PAIRING BUTTON Used to pair the HiCast S84 with other Bluetooth enabled devices (See Bluetooth Connection section).
  5.   INPUTS Connect external devices using either the XLR (balanced), 6.3mm Jack (balanced) or RCA Phono inputs (unbalanced).
  6.   OUTPUTS Connect the first pair of speakers using the NL4 Speakon output.
  7. POWER SWITCH
  8. Turns the PA on or off. (Ensure the main level isturned down fully before turning on or off)
  9. VOLTAGE SELECTOR
  10. Change the input voltage (please check the correct voltage for your region before altering the voltage switch).
  11. AC INPUT WITH FUSE HOLDER Connect the supplied UK or EU power cable to the AC Input.

OVERVIEW – SATELLITE SPEAKER

  1.   FULL RANGE INPUT NL4/Speakon (-1/+1) connection to the output from the Subwoofer.
  2.   FULL RANGE THRU NL4/Speakon (-1/+1) connection for the second pair of speakers.
  3.   SPEAKER WIRE CONNECTIONS Alternative method of connecting the second pair of satellite speakers (ensure speaker cable capable of handling the required load is used).

CONNECTION AND SETUP

  • Connect the AC Input to the mains using the supplied power cable. Ensure that the voltage is correct as indicated on the voltage selector and that the mains outlet is switched on.
  • The HiCast S84 has three input options; XLR, 6.3mm Jack, or RCA Phono. Connect the Left and Right outputs from DJ Mixers, CD Players, or any other play back device to the corresponding Left and Right inputs on the back of the subwoofer.
  • Connect the first pair of speakers to the subwoofer by connecting the Full Range Inputs of the speakers to Left and Right Outputs on the rear of the subwoofer. All four speakers are identical so there is no preference to which speakers are connected first. Ensure you are using suitable NL4/Speakon cables to connect the speakers to the subwoofer.
  • Connect the second pair of speakers to the first pair of speakers using one of the following methods;
  •  Connect the Full Range Thru on the first speaker to the Full Range Input of the second speaker using suitable NL4/Speakon cable.
  • Connect the bare speaker wire Full Range Thru (right side – and +) on the first speaker to the bare speaker wire Full Range Input (left side + and -) on the second speaker.

POSITIONING

The HiCast S84 comes with four L brackets included in the box for mounting your speakers to a flat surface or for installing them in a fixed position. Bolts to attach the speakers to the brackets are also included.The speakers can also be mounted on any speaker/microphone stand with a 5/8ths threaded connection for easy and versatile positioning.

BLUETOOTH CONNECTION

To connect the HiCast S84 to a Bluetooth enabled device, please follow these steps;

  1.  Press and hold the Bluetooth Pairing Button for 2 seconds, or until the Bluetooth LED begins flashing.
  2.  Search for ‘HICAST-S84’ on your Bluetooth enabled device and press pair/connect.
  3.  When the Bluetooth enabled device has paired with the HiCast S84 the LED will remain solid, and a ‘beep’ noise will be heard.
  4.  To disconnect Bluetooth, press and hold the Bluetooth button until the LED turns off.
