Mains and Zone Wiring

Verify Wiring

  • Follow the steps below to verify there are no faults in the load or wiring.
  • Turn off power. DO NOT WIRE LIVE.
  • With the 5-position bypass jumper installed in the terminal blocks, the wire loads to the DH terminal blocks as shown.
  • Apply power and ensure that the desired loads power on without any faults.

Zone Wiring

  • Turn off the power. DO NOT WIRE LIVE.
  • Wire mains and loads to the module as shown.
  • Remove the 5-position bypass jumper from Hot and Load terminals.
  • Apply power. See section 5 to verify zone wiring.
  • Turn off power while servicing the module. DO NOT WIRE LIVE.
  • Wire QS link to the module as shown, note terminals 3 and 4 are twisted, screened pair. Recommended Lutron cable: GRX-CBL-346S for wiring length less than 500 ft (153 m); GRX-CBL-46L for wiring length up to 2000 ft (610 m).
    • The link may be daisy-chained or t-tapped.
    • Do not connect to terminal 2.

Note: See “HomeWorks QS Wiring Guidelines” application note on www.myLutron.com

Contact Closure Input / Output

Turn off power while servicing the module and wire CCI / CCO as shown. DO NOT WIRE LIVE.

  • CCI If not needed, leave pre-installed jumper in CCI terminals.
    • Input is Normally Closed. If Contact Closure is opened, the module will go to Emergency light levels and will not respond to inputs from other devices.
  • CCO When using a room thermostat or 3rd party contactor for a receptacle control, normally open or normally closed dry contacts must be used.
    • The CCO is not rated to control unclamped, inductive loads. Inductive loads include, but are not limited to, relays, solenoids, and motors. To control these types of equipment, a flyback diode (not included) must be used (DC voltages only). See diagram.
    • Accepts voltages of 0 –24 V~ / 0 –24 V-; see chart below for load switching capacities:
    • Switching Voltage Resistive Load R
    • 0 –24 V- 1.0 A
    • 0 –24 V~ 0.5 A
