FALCON RIDGE John Deere Gator XUV 835 Cab Enclosure
Instructions for Installation and Care of John Deere JD-835-FC04
Notice: Do not smoke inside the cab or expose the enclosure to direct flames. Cab is Flammable.
-
Be sure to read these instructions thoroughly before opening and installing the John Deere 835 Enclosure. The installation is best done when the temperature is 70 degrees F. or warmer. This is to allow the Velcro to stick to the roll cage better, if you must install outside in the cold it will help to warm the Velcro inside at room temp. until ready to install.

This enclosure system is made up of 5 separate components. These instructions will guide you through the process one component at a time.
-
Begin by Cleaning the roll cage and plastic that surrounds the doors. Using rubbing alcohol is preferable. This step is very important for the Velcro strips to properly adhere.
-
Now start installation by placing the 2″ adhesive Velcro strips around the outside edges of the upper door frame. As you install the adhesive Velcro you will need to pull it into a curve. The result will have wrinkles in it, this is normal, just pull it around as best you can making sure to rub down the Velcro good for maximum adhesion. Starting at the front of the frame first place the 36″ strips as shown in the photosbelow.
-
Next place the 45″ strip on the rear vertical bar. It should be placed on the outside of the bars along the back edge. See photo below
-
Next place the 44″ adhesive Velcro strip on top of the of the rear horizontal bar along the back edge. Make sure it is centered properly. See photo below
-
Last piece of adhesive Velcro goes at the bottom of the Rear Window along the plastic piece. Place the 36″ strip centered on the plastic piece facing towards the rear of the vehicle. See photo below
Rear Window -
Now that all the Adhesive Velcro is in place you can start putting the enclosure on the vehicle starting with the Rear Window. Be sure to Center the Rear Window and attach the top along the 44″ adhesive Velcro strip as shown in the photo below.
-
Now attach both sides of the Rear Window to the adhesive Velcro strips down the outside of the rear corner bars as shown in the photo below.
-
Then just push the bottom of the Rear Window against the Velcro strip across the bottom as shown in the photo below.
Soft Doors
- At this point all you need to do is attach the door to the Velcro along the top and sides. This is done so much easier if you start at the top rear corner and work your way forward first. Then attach it down the back edge of the door. See photo below.
- Lastly for the doors you will need to attach the screws holding the bottom of the doors. NOTE: It helps to put the snap studs into the sockets in the canvas first. Then one at a time push the screw into the plastic hard enough so that a mark is left behind. Pull the snap stud back out of the door and screw it into the plastic where the mark was made. snap the door in place and move on to the next one. The snaps along the front of the door wrap around the fenders and will go inside along the fender well. See photo below.
Top Cap
- Included in the package are four webbing straps with a loop sewn on one end. These will be used to secure the Top Cap.
- Raise the hood of the Gator. Located just under the side panels are two main frame bars that run across the front corner of the vehicle. Reach under the fender or in the hood compartment and wrap the looped end of the strap around this bar and back through the loop so it won’t come loose. Next you will see a small gap between the frame and the hood in the bottom corner of windshield. Take the strap and run it through this gap then pull it through until it pulls tight. The photos below shows how it should look.
- In the rear take the straps and wrap them around the side bars of the bed as shown in the photo below.
- Now pull the strap up and run them through the buckles sewn into the rear corners of the Top Cap as shown in the photos below.
- Now your enclosure should be complete. With proper care your cab should last for years to come. Enjoy!!!
Cleaning and Storage Recommendations
- Before removing the Falcon Ridge Cab for storage, make sure it is very clean in order to prevent scratching of the window panels. Clean with a soft rag or sponge using a mild liquid detergent soap and warm water solution. Never rub the windows with a dry cloth or rag! Let the Cab dry thoroughly before attempting to roll for storage.
- It is important that the Cab be rolled up for storage rather than folding. Folding will cause damage to the windows!!! Carefully roll up the Cab similar to the way it was when it was packed at the factory On a large, clean and flat surface, fold the doors over the rear panel first, then, interleave the top and windshield on top of the doors. Begin rolling the Cab into a roll approximately 8 inches in diameter. Put the rolled Cab back into the carton for storage at a normal room temperature. It is best not to expose the Cab to either extreme hot or cold temperatures when storing.
- A special cleaner conditioner is available from Falcon Ridge that will greatly increase the service life of the Cab Enclosure. In addition, if additional hook and loop sets are needed, they can also be ordered.
