Instructions for Installation and Care of Husqvarna HUV4421 Full Cab Enclosure with Polycarbonate Windshield HU-4421-FC02
Caution: Do not smoke inside the cab or expose the enclosure to direct flames. Product is FLAMMABLE.
Be sure to read these instructions thoroughly before opening and installing the enclosure. The installation is best done when the temperature is 70 degrees F. or warmer. The temperature affects the adhesive Velcro, if conditions prevent installing in warmer weather it helps to store the adhesive Velcro at room temperature prior to installation.
- Carefully open the carton and unroll enclosure onto a large flat surface that is clean and free of dirt or other material that may soil the cab or scratch the clear vinyl side/rear windows. Check over the parts included in this carton with the parts list shown below:
- Velcro hook strips: 2 each 45” long
- Velcro hook strips: 2 each 10” long
- Velcro hook strips: 4 each 8” long
- Velcro hook strips: 4 each 6” long
- Snap studs: 9 each (1 extra)
- Cab enclosure: 1 each
- If any parts are damaged or missing please contact customer service at 606-845-7439.
- Install the Polycarbonate windshield following the separate instructions provided and mark the locations of the clamps, then temporarily remove it to install the enclosure.
- Loosely drape the cab enclosure over the roll cage and zip the doors closed to get it centered and in the right place. Now begin by marking the correct positions for the 8” adhesive Velcro strips that will match up with the Velcro tabs that are sewn down the front of the cab. These will end up under the windshield between the Polycarbonate and the roll cage tube and should be attached to the adhesive Velcro between the windshield clamps. It is a good idea to place the windshield on the vehicle before setting the adhesive Velcro strips to make sure that the cab is properly aligned so that you don’t end up having a piece of Velcro where the clamps go. The photo on the next page will help show you how it is supposed to look when the installation is complete. See also the adhesive Velcro application diagram at the end of these instructions. Clean the roll cage and apply the adhesive Velcro according to the diagram at the end of these instructions, then attach the Velcro sewn into the enclosure to the adhesive Velcro on the front down tubes.
- You will also see two double-sided Velcro straps sewn on each side of the front. To attach these, you will need to use the 4 supplied 6” adhesive Velcro strips (one per strap) and wrap them around the bar where the double-sided Velcro straps are sewn into the enclosure. The photos below help to show how this is done.
- Now move to the rear of the cab and you will see that a strip of Velcro is sewn across the back and should be lined up with the bar running behind the seats. Clean the bar and take the 45” adhesive Velcro strip and apply it to this bar trying to center it as much as possible. Attach the Velcro sewn into the enclosure to it.
- Now open the doors and you will see a 10” Velcro tab sewn into the back seam of the cab. Clean the roll cage tube, apply the corresponding adhesive Velcro strip here and attach the tab and you should now be finished installing all of the adhesive Velcro.
- Now all that should be left is installation of the snaps along the bottom of the doors. Two will attach to the inside of the fender, the other two will attach to the lower bodywork on the outside of the vehicle. Just pull the door down and mark where the snap is going to hit the unit and then screw the snap studs in and you should be finished. The use of a power drill is not recommended. Don’t attempt to over torque the snap stud screws. Use a light touch; metal screws in plastic bodywork will strip out easily. The photo below illustrates the finished look.
Cleaning and Storage Recommendations
- Before removing the Cab for storage, make sure it is very clean in order to prevent scratching of the window panels. Clean with a soft rag or sponge using a mild liquid detergent soap and warm water solution. Never rub the windows with a dry cloth or rag! Let the Cab dry thoroughly before attempting to roll for storage.
- It is important that the Cab be rolled up for storage rather than folding. Folding will cause damage to the windows!!! Carefully roll up the Cab similar to the way it was when it was packed at the factory. On a large, clean and flat surface, fold the doors over the rear panel first, then, interleave the top and windshield on top of the doors. Begin rolling the Cab into a roll approximately 8 inches in diameter. Put the rolled Cab back into the carton for storage at a normal room temperature. It is best not to expose the Cab to either extreme hot or cold temperatures when storing.
- A special cleaner conditioner is available from Falcon Ridge that will greatly increase the service life of the Cab Enclosure. In addition, if additional hook and loop sets are needed, they can also be ordered.
Thank you for your purchase!
