Instructions for safe operation of the gasolineengine.

  1. Gasoline fuel is highly flammable and can explode under certain conditions.
  2. Refuel only when the engine is not running, in a clean and ventilated place. Do not smoke or allow open flames or sparks in places where fuel is refueled or stored.
  3. Do not allow fuel to overflow from the tank. Be sure to tighten the tank cap well after filling. 1.2.4. When refueling, be careful not to spill gasoline around, as gasoline fumes can easily ignite and cause a fire. Be sure to wipe up spilled gasoline before starting the engine.
  4. Avoid frequent skin contact with gasoline or breathing gasoline fumes. Keep gasoline out of the reach of children.
  5. Do not start the engine indoors because the exhaust gases produced by the running engine contain toxic carbon monoxide, which can lead to loss of consciousness or even death.
  6. Always switch off the engine and remove the spark plug pipe before carrying out any work on the rotating elements and before carrying out any cleaning, repair or inspection of the machine. Wait for the engine and rotating vanes to come to a complete stop before cleaning or maintaining the machine.
  7. Store the machine in a dry place. Never store gasolinein the tank where fumes can ignite. 1.2.9. All covers, guards and handles must be installed before starting work. Make sure that the spark plug cap and the ignition cable are in good condition to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Instructions for safe work.

  1. Never allow children or people unfamiliar with the machine to operate it. National legislation in some countries may limit the age limit of the consumer.

  2. During operation, the machine operator must be careful not to approach people or animals within a radius of 15m. When several operators operate in the same section, a safe distance must be observed.

  3. Always be careful and prudent. Do not operate the machine when you are tired or after taking medications or substances that reduce your attention and ability to react.

  4. If you have long hair, you need to tie it and take all precautions so that it is not caught by moving parts. Your clothing should be work-oriented. Do not wear jewelry or loose clothing, as they may be caught by moving parts.
Use clothes on the body and stable high shoes with grippers. Wear strong and tight gloves. They reduce vibrations to the hands.

  5. Use thick gloves to protect your hands when cleaning, inspecting, or replacing accessories.

  6. Be careful with the rotating blades of the machine during operation. The rotating elements rotate very fast and can cause extremely serious accidents. Keep your hands and feet away from the rotating parts.

  7. The pole saw can only be used for cutting wood. Any other use can damage the machine and be dangerous.

  8. Never use the machine with damaged or used parts. Parts that do not have the same quality can damage the machine or endanger your safety. Therefore, replace them only with original ones.

  9. Carry the machine with the engine switched off. Before transporting in your car, you must let it cool down and empty the tank. Always ensure that the machine is securely fastened and balanced during transport.

  10. Tighten all nuts and bolts well to ensure safety when working.

  11. In an emergency, switch off the engine quickly.

  12.  Remember that the owner or user of the motor pole saw is responsible for accidents or incidents with third parties.

  13. Be careful, some parts of the machine can become very hot.

  14. Warning! This machine creates an electromagnetic field during operation. In some circumstances, this field may interfere with active or passive medical implants. To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury, we recommend that people with medical implants consult their physician and the manufacturer of the medical implant before operating this machine.

  15. There is information that during prolonged work certain vibrations could cause Reynolds syndrome in some people. Symptoms include a burning, tingling, and fading sensation in the fingers, which usually occurs with a cold. Symptoms can also be influenced by hereditary factors, cold, humidity, diet, diet, smoking and work habits. To date, no reliable link has been established between vibration and these symptoms, however, the following measures will reduce the risk. 1.3.15.1. Always keep your body warm in cold weather. Wear warm and thick gloves. There is evidence that cold weather is one of the main causes of Reynolds syndrome;

  16. 1.3.15.2. After work, do physical exercises to warm the body and speed up blood circulation; 1.3.15.3. Take periodic breaks during work;

  17. 1.3.15.4. Keep the machine in good technical condition. All screw connections must be tight. Replace worn parts with new ones in a timely manner.

  18. If you notice any of the symptoms during work, stop and consult your doctor.

  19. Never leave the pole saw before the work tool has completely stopped rotating. The rotating tool may touch an object, causing you to lose control of the pruner.

  20. Regularly clean the ventilation holes of your castration.

  21. Do not use the pole saw near flammable materials. Flying sparks can ignite such materials.

  22. Never place your hands near rotating work tools. If a recoil occurs, the tool may injure you.

  23. Be especially careful at the end of the cut. In the absence of resistance, as provided by the processed material, the pole saw falls by inertia and can cause injuries.

  24. You may feel tingling in your fingers or hands during prolonged use. In this situation, you must stop work and take the rest you need, as you cannot steer the pole saw well with numb hands.

  25. If signs of fatigue appear, stop work immediately.

  26. The pole saw can only be operated by one person. All other persons must be away from the range of the pole saw. This is especially true for children and animals.

  27. When switching on the pole saw, the cutting chain must not rest on the material designed to process and touch anything. It must be free until the required machine speed is reached.

  28. During operation, hold the pole saw firmly with both hands on both handles. Take a stable position.

  29. The pole saw should not be used by children and adolescents. The pole saw can only be used by adults who know how to work with it. The pole pole saw should be submitted with these operating instructions.

  30. The pole saw is only removed from the workpiece when the cutting chain is moving.

  31. On sloping terrain, face the slope during cutting.

  32. When cutting horizontally, you must position yourself at an angle as close as possible to 90 ° to the material. Such an operation requires special attention.

  33. When the chain is trapped during cutting at the top of the chain, a bounce in the direction of the operator may occur. Therefore, you should cut using the lower part of the chain, because then when the chain is locked, the bounce will not occur in the direction of your body.

  34. Be especially careful when cutting split wood. Cut pieces of wood can be thrown in any direction and cause injuries!

  35. The cutting of tree branches should be done by trained people. Uncontrolled fall of the cut branch of the tree carries a risk of injury!

  36. Cutting with the front of the rail is not permitted. This will cause a strong kickback.

  37. Pay special attention to the branches that are drooping. Free-hanging branches should not be cut from the underside.

  38. Always stand to the side of the intended line in the direction of the fall of the tree you are cutting.

  39. Always stay on sloping terrain higher than the material being processed and never lower.

  40. Beware of trees rolling in your direction. Bounce aside!

  41. The working pole saw can be turned when the front of the Guide bar touches the workpiece. In this case, the pole saw may suddenly bounce in the direction of the operator (risk of injury!).

  42. To avoid the “bounce” (bounce) of the pole saw, the following instructions should be followed.

  43. Never start or cut with the front of the chain guide bar!

  44. Always start cutting with the pole saw already on and the chain moving at the required speed!

  45. Check that the cutting chain is well sharpened.

  46. You should never prune more than one branch at a time. During cutting, pay attention to the adjacent branches. When cutting the tree across its entire width, you should pay attention to the trunks of the surrounding trees.

Functional description and purpose.

The motor pole saw you bought is intended for work in the home garden, for pruning branches, as well as for other operations related to cutting wood. This appliance is intended entirely for amateur use. It is not permitted to use the appliance for activities other than its intended use! The pole saw consists mainly of a housing made of steel, an aluminum guide tube on the main shaft, handles, rotating parts and a single-cylinder, two-stroke engine with air cooling.

trimmer-2

The high-performance and powerful engine meets the requirements of professional users. Always work with a mixture of gasolineand two-stroke oil in a ratio of 25: 1.
Information about emitted noise and vibrations.

  • The values are measured according to Directive 2000/14 / EC.
  • Sound pressure level: LpA = 77.5 dB (A)
  • Measured sound power level: LwA = 108.2 dB (A)
  • Uncertainty coefficient K = 3 dB (A)
  • Work with mufflers!
  • Vibration level: ah = 6.303 m / s2
  • Uncertainty coefficient K = 1.5 m / s2.
  1. Oil is one of the main factors influencing engine performance and life. Always use only high quality oil. To obtain the correct mixture ratio, the amount of oil must be measured accurately.
  2. Use high-quality oil for two-stroke gasoline engines.

Preparation before starting the motor pole saw

  1.  Pour the fuel mixture into the tank. Please use unleaded gasolinewith an octane rating of 95. When using gasolinewith a lower octane rating, the engine will knock and its temperature will rise. This can lead to serious damage. For prolonged use, the use of higher octane gasolineis recommended.
  2. Gasoline must be mixed with two-stroke oil in a clean tank in a ratio of 25: 1. (25 parts gasoline and 1 part two-stroke oil). Stir the fuel mixture before pouring it into the castration tank.
  3. Check the air filter. A dirty air filter will limit the flow of air into the carburetor. To prevent carburetor malfunctions, be sure to clean the air filter periodically. Check the filter to see if it is too dirty and clean it if necessary. Do not start the engine without an air filter, as this can lead to rapid engine wear if dirt or dust is sucked into it through the carburetor.

Start the engine

Put the ignition key in the start position. If the engine is cold or the ambient temperature is low, close the carburetor throttle valve completely, ie pull the “sucker” by moving its lever. After starting the engine, wait a while until the engine warms up and gradually return the vacuum cleaner. A sure sign of the need to return the vacuum cleaner (open the throttle valve) is the appearance of thick smoke from the muffler.

Note: The throttle valve does not close when starting a warm engine or at a relatively high ambient temperature. Under these conditions, do not pull the vacuum cleaner when starting the engine.

  1. Switch the ignition key to position I.
  2. Pull the “sucker” (depending on the ambient temperature).
  3. When the engine starts, there is a chance of a kickback from the starter. Therefore, take a correct and stable position when pulling the manual starter.
  4. Carefully pull on the hand starter, gripping the handle comfortably until you feel resistance. Then pull it sharply.Raider-RD-GPS01-Gasoline-trimmer-3
  5. Attention! Do not allow the starter rope to curl sharply back into the engine. Return it carefully to avoid damaging the starter.
  6. After starting the engine, increase the speed to the required level using the throttle lever.

Stop the engine

Reduce engine speed by releasing the throttle. Let the engine run for about 30 seconds, then move the ignition key to position 0 (Stop).

Support

Periodic inspections and adjustments are required to keep the motor pole saw at optimum performance. Regular maintenance will extend its life.
Attention! You must switch off the engine before any maintenance work on the motor pole saw!

  1. Inspection and maintenance must be carried out by authorized persons, unless you have the appropriate tools and skills to do so. Please note that maintenance is recommended under normal operating conditions. If you use the motor pole saw in other conditions, we recommend that you consult your dealer.
  2. Switch off the engine and remove the spark plug cable before checking.
  3.  Allow the engine and manifold to cool so that you do not get burned by hot surfaces.
  4. Wear protective gloves so as not to cut yourself on any of the sharp elements. Drain all fuel from the engine if you are going to store the motor pole saw for more than a month. The items in the list below should be serviced by an experienced professional if you do not have the appropriate tools and qualifications. The engine cooling vents must always be clean and free. These are the openings on the starter side.

Preparation for work

  1. In the event that several successive cutting operations are required, the pole saw must be switched off by means of a start switch between these operations.
  2. Installation of the Guide bar and the pole saw chain. To adjust the tension of the chain is a screw with a nut with a pin, which enters the designated hole of the Guide bar. It is especially important when mounting the rail that the nut pin enters the hole in the rail.

By turning the screw (when the rail fixing nut is loose), the pin moves forward or backward and the chain is loosened or stretched accordingly. Unscrew the retaining nut on the rail and remove the coupling cover. Place the chain on the sprocket located above the clutch. Place the Guide bar on the guide studs. Place it as close as possible to the sprocket. Place the chain on the guide sprocket and the rail, making sure that the guide links of the chain enter the rail channel. Keep the direction of the cutting units.

Move the guide bar away from the guide gear so that the chain guide elements are in the guide bar groove. Check that the pin of the chain adjusting screw nut is located in the lower hole of the rail.Replace the cover and tighten the guide bar nut slightly.
Tighten the saw cutting chain with the chain tensioning screw. The chain is tensioned correctly when it can be raised 3 to 4 mm in the middle of the guide bar. The measurement is performed when the rail is in a horizontal position. Tighten the nut firmly by holding the front of the guide bar. Before mounting the guide bar and the cutting chain, you must check the correct position of the cutting blades on the chain (the correct position of the chain on the bar is shown on the front of the bar). Wear protective gloves when inspecting and installing the chain to avoid injuries from sharp cutting edges. When installing a new saw chain, it takes about 5 minutes to warm up. During this period it is very important to lubricate the chain. After heating, check the chain tension and adjust if necessary. You need to check and adjust its tension quite often, as the loose chain can be easily removed from the rail, wears out faster or leads to rapid wear of the guide bar.
Fill the saw tank with oil
The oil tank of the new pole saw is empty. Therefore, before the first use it is necessary to fill the tank with oil.
Unscrew the chain oil tank cap
Pour oil (be careful not to get any contaminants in the tank).
Screw back the oil tank cap
Do not use used or remanufactured oil, as this may damage the oil pump. Use SAE 10W / 30 oil all year round. In summer SAE 30W / 40, and in winter SAE 20W / 30.

Operation and settings

Turn on.

  1. Hold the pole saw with both hands during start-up and operation.
  2. Switching on – we press the lock of the start button, and then the start button.
  3. Switch off – release the start button. Releasing the trigger button stops the pole saw.

Check the chain lubrication

Before you start cutting, check the lubrication of the saw chain and the oil level in the tank. Turn on the pole saw by holding it above the ground over a light background. If increasing traces of oil are seen, this means that the chain lubrication is working properly. If there are no traces or if they are minimal, the oil path from the tank to the circuit must be cleaned. If this does not work, contact service. During operation, the amount of oil in the tank must never be below the minimum permissible level “MIN”.Add oil to the “MAX” position. Depending on the ambient temperature and the set amount of oil used, the pole saw can be operated for 15 to 40 minutes with a single filling of the oil tank.

Lubricants used to lubricate the chain
The durability of the chain and the guide bar of the pole saw largely depends on the quality of the lubricant used. Only lubricants designed for chain macines must be used. Used or regenerated oil should never be used to lubricate the saw chain.
Chain guide bar
The guide bar of the chain is exposed to particularly intense wear in its front and lower part. In order to avoid one-sided wear due to friction, it is recommended to turn the bar every time the chain is sharpened. At the same time, the groove in the rail and the oil holes must be cleaned. The rail groove has a rectangular shape. Check the chute for wear. Glue a measuring line or smooth flat object to the guide bar and the outer surface of a chain tooth. If you notice a gap between them, it means that the gutter is OK. Otherwise the tire is probably worn and needs to be replaced.

Guide gear

The drive gear is an element that is particularly susceptible to wear. If visible signs of wear on the sprocket teeth are noticed, it must be replaced. The worn sprocket further shortens the durability of the saw chain. The sprocket must be replaced by an authorized workshop.

Work with the pole saw

Before proceeding with the planned work, you should familiarize yourself with the points containing the rules for safe work with the pruner. It is recommended that you first practice cutting unnecessary pieces of wood. This will help you learn more about the capabilities of the pole saw. You should always follow the safety rules. The pole saw can only be used for cutting wood. It is not allowed to cut other materials with it. The intensity of the vibrations and the effect of the bounce are different when cutting different types of wood. It is not allowed to use the pole saw as a lever used for lifting, moving or dividing objects. In the event of a chain jam, the engine must be switched off and a plastic or wooden wedge driven into the cut slot to release the saw. Then turn on the saw again and carefully start cutting. You do not need to press hard on the pole saw when cutting. There should be only a little pressure when the saw is running at maximum speed. If the pole saw gets stuck in the slot during cutting, you should never pull it by force. This may result in loss of control of the pole saw and injury to the operator and / or damage to the pole saw. Wait until the engine reaches maximum speed before cutting.
Maintain high speeds during operation
Let the chain cut the wood. Press the pole saw lightly. In order not to lose control, you must stop pressing the pole saw at the end of the operation. Bounce protection. “Bounce” means the movement of the guide bar of the pole saw chain upwards and/or backwards, which can occur when the pole saw chain with its front part rests on an object. When switching on and during operation, you must hold the pole saw firmly with both hands. When bouncing, the pole saw is out of control and the chain may become loose.
Improperly sharpened chain increases the risk of bouncing
Cutting with the front of the bar should be avoided, as this can cause the pole saw to bounce back and forth suddenly. When working with the pruner, full equipment must always be used, as well as the appropriate work clothes.
Disassembly of the safety devices, improper maintenance, maintenance or incorrect replacement of the guide bar or chain can increase the risk of injury in the event of a bounce. It is not allowed to perform any reconstructions of the pole saw. In case of using an arbitrarily reconstructed pole saw, the user loses all rights arising from the warranty. Loss of warranty may also result from the use of the pole saw in violation of the information contained in this manual.
Cutting
You can only cut wood or wood-like materials. Before cutting, make sure that the pole saw does not bump into stones or nails, as this could cause the pole saw to slip off and damage the chain. Avoid situations where the working pole saw could touch a wire fence or the ground. When cutting branches, support the pole saw as much as possible and try not to cut with the front of the guide bar.Pay attention to obstacles such as protruding stumps, roots, dents and holes in the ground, as they can be the cause of an accident.
Cutting and pruning branches of trees and shrubs
First it is checked on which side the branch is bent. Then make the initial cut on the side of the bend, finishing it on the opposite side. Be careful that the cut branch does not bounce back. You need to be especially careful when cutting a branch that is live. Such a branch may bounce and strike the operator after it has been cut. You should not cut branches while climbing a tree. You should not stand on ladders, platforms, wood or other similar positions that could lead to loss of balance and control of the pole saw.
Safe work with the pole saw
Under no circumstances should the castor be used when it is raining or damp. All parts must be installed and meet the requirements ensuring proper operation of the pole saw. Any damaged protective element or part must be replaced immediately.

Storage

  • Make sure that the ventilation openings in the motor housing are clean.
  • A weak solvent and a sponge should be used to clean the plastic elements.
  • Only those maintenance operations that are described in this manual may be performed. All other operations can only be performed by an authorized service center.
  • It is not allowed to make any changes in the design of the pole saw.
  • When the pole saw is not used, it should be stored after cleaning on a flat surface, in a dry place, out of reach of children.

Guide bar and cutting chain

  • Every 5 hours of operation, the condition of the busbar and the chain must be checked.
  • Loosen and unscrew the Guide bar nut.
  • Remove the cover and remove the rail and chain.
  • Clean the oil holes and the chute in the Guide bar.
  • Lubricate the front sprocket of the rail through the hole in the front of the rail. Check the condition of the circuit).
  • Sharpening the pole saw chain.
  • Special attention should be paid to cutting tools. The cutting tools must be sharp and clean, which ensures trouble-free and safe work. Working with a pole saw that has a worn chain leads to accelerated wear of the chain, the Guide bar and the
  • drive wheel of the chain, and can even lead to a rupture of the chain. That is why it is very important to sharpen the chain in time.
  • Sharpening the chain is a complex operation. Self-sharpening of the chain requires the use of special tools and skills. It is recommended to entrust this operation to qualified persons.
  • All types of faults must be rectified by RAIDER Authorized Repairers.

Cleaning the air filter. Do not use the motor pole saw with a dirty or airless filter. Dust and fine  particles that will suck the engine will shorten its service life. Remove the air filter. Clean the filter with solvent and allow to dry completely after cleaning. Do not clean the air filter with flammable liquids, as a fire or explosion may occur under certain conditions. After cleaning, replace the air filter. Candle maintenance.
The recommended type of spark plug is Champion RCJ7Y, NGK BPMR7A or NHSP LD L8RTF. To ensure normal operation of the engine, the spark plug must have an adequate distance between the electrodes and must be cleaned of deposits. Remove the “pipe” of the candle by pulling it by the handle at the top. Never remove the pipe by pulling on the cord. The muffler can be very hot if the engine is running. Be careful not to touch the muffler. Use the spark plug wrench to unscrew the spark plug. Check the spark plug visually. Discard the spark plug if it is obviously worn or the insulation is broken or cracked. ”Also check the O-ring. If the spark plug is in excellent condition, clean it with a copper wire brush and screw it back into the cylinder head. When screwing in a
new spark plug, tighten it an additional 1/2 turn after the spark plug reaches and presses the “O” ring. Make sure the spark plug is properly tightened. Improper tightening can cause the engine to overheat and damage it. Use only high quality candles of the specified type.

Transport and storage

When carrying the pole saw, you must put the protective cover on the cutting chain and apply the chain brake. Carrying a switched on and unprotected castor oil can result in personal injury. The pole saw must be checked. Check the attachment of the moving parts for damaged parts. In case damage is found, it is necessary to remove them before using the pruner. Improper maintenance of the machine can cause many accidents. The cutting chain must be clean and with sharp cutting edges. Regular sharpening of the chain reduces the risk of getting stuck and makes work easier.
