SETUP FOR SWITCH

The controller includes a rechargeable battery that was charged at the time of manufacturing. If the LED bar flashes red, then the battery needs charging. To charge, connect to the Switch console or another USB power source via the USB cable.

WIRELESS PAIRING
From the Switch home menu, select ‘Controllers’ then select ‘Change Grip/Order’. While the following screen is displayed, press and hold the Home button on the controller you are pairing. Release the Home button and the LED bar starts flashing indicating the controller is ready to pair.
NOTE: After the controller is paired to the Switch, it will automatically connect next time.

WIRED COMMUNICATION OPTION
The controller can communicate with the console via USB (wired) mode. By default, the Switch console has wired communication disabled. Enable wired communication by going to System Settings / Controllers and Sensors / Pro Controller Wired Communication and set it to On. Connect the USB charge cable to the controller and Switch console for USB mode.

When you want to use the controller in wireless mode again, disconnect the USB charge cable from the controller, and press the Home button to wirelessly reconnect to the Switch console.

UNDERSTANDING THE LED BAR

Low Power: The LED bar blinks red.
Charging: The LED bar blinks orange.
Connected to power and fully charged: The LED bar will turn off.
Pairing mode: When the Home button is pressed, the LED bar flashes white.
Programming back buttons: When the Program button is pressed, the LED bar flashes white Customizing the colours: See the next section in this manual.

CUSTOMIZING THE LED BAR

  • The default colour of the LED bar is orange but it can be set to your preference.
  • Press the Program button to cycle through different colour settings. After the solid colour settings, there is fast rainbow effect followed by a slower effect. Each press of the Program button advances the cycle.
  • After the LED bar cycles these settings, the last setting is off.
  • Pressing the Program button from the LED off setting restarts the cycle.

PROGRAMMING THE BACK BUTTONS (S1 & S2)

  1. Press and hold the Program button for 2 sec, the LED bar will start to flash white.
  2. While LED bar is flashing, press the desired command buttons. When you have finished, press either S1 or S2 to complete the process. The Controller will vibrate, and the LED bar will reset. The S1 or S2 button is now programmed.

Resetting the Back buttons
Press and hold Program button for 5 sec and the Controller will vibrate. All programs are now erased. The S1 and S2 default mapping is L3 and R3.

AUDIO SETTINGS

  • The mute button has no function when a device is not connected to the 3.5mm Audio Jack.
  • When an audio device is connected, pressing the Mute button once will mute the connected microphone and the Mute LED will turn red.
  • Press the Mute button again to disable the Mute function. The Mute LED will turn off.
  • If the Controller is in mute mode when a device is disconnected, mute mode will be disabled, and the Mute LED will be off.
  • Press – and + buttons to adjust the device volume.
    NOTE: The 3.5mm Audio Jack is supported in wired mode only. The controller must be connected to the Switch via the USB cable for audio features to work.
    NOTE: Headphones must be connected to the 3.5mm audio jack to adjust the volume.

THUMBSTICK REPLACEMENT

  1. Remove by pulling each thumbstick up. Do not twist.
  2. Replace by lowering the thumbstick back until a magnetic “click” is heard. gioteck SC3NSW-21-MU SC3 Pro Wireless Controller fig 5NOTE: If you do not feel a magnetic click when replacing a thumbstick, check for dust/debris that may have collected and clear if necessary.

IOS, ANDROID AND PC BLUETOOTH SETUP

iOS/PC Bluetooth Setup. In this mode, the controller emulates an Xbox wireless controller.
Please check game support before use.
Setup: With the controller powered off, Press the A button and Home button together for 3 sec. The LED bar will flash, and the controller is now in pairing mode. Select the controller from the list of Bluetooth devices on your iOS device or PC. After the connection is made, the LED bar will stop flashing and will show a solid light.
Setup for Android devices. Follow the instructions above but press the Y button and Home button. The controller will show as “gamepad” in the Bluetooth device list.

PC SETUP (USB WIRED)

  1. With the USB cable connected to the SC3, connect the other end to the PC.
  2. The Controller will now be recognized as an X-input controller device.
  3. The default LED bar colour for PC USB Wired mode is Green.

FIRMWARE UPDATES

  1. Visit www.gioteck.com/firmware
  2. Select the controller you are updating and follow the on-screen instructions.

The controller can be reset to factory settings by inserting a paperclip into the hole on the rear of the controller.

SAFETY

Use and handling

  • Before use, check that there is plenty of space around you.
  • When using the controller, grip it firmly and make sure it cannot slip out of your hand.
  • If using a controller that is connected to the console with a cable, make sure that the cable will not hit a person or object. Also take care to avoid pulling out the cable from the console.

Exterior protection
Follow the instructions below to help prevent the product exterior from deteriorating or becoming discoloured.
Do not place any rubber or vinyl materials on the product exterior for an extended period. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the product. Do not use solvents or other chemicals.

Charging the controller
With the console turned on or in sleep mode, connect the controller to the console using the cable.

Battery life and duration

  • The battery has a limited lifespan. Battery duration will gradually decrease with repeated usage and age. Battery life also varies depending on the storage method, conditions of use and environmental factors.
  • Charge in an environment where the temperature range is 5℃ – 35℃ (41F – 95F). Charging may not be as effective outside this range.

When not in use

  • When the wireless controller is not used for an extended period, it is recommended that you fully charge it at least once a year to help maintain battery functionality.
  • The lithium-ion battery of the wireless controller is recyclable. When disposing of the wireless controller, remove the battery and follow local regulations regarding disposing of batteries.

Caution

  • Remove the battery in a location out of the reach of small children to help prevent accidental swallowing of small parts such as the screws.

  • Be careful not to hurt your nails or fingers when removing the controller casing.

  • For safety reasons, attach tape or a seal on the metal part of the battery before disposing.

  • Do not handle damaged or leaking lithium-lon batteries.

  • If you come into contact with material from a leaking battery, take the following actions:
    If the material gets into your eyes, do not rub, instead immediately flush your eyes with clean water and seek medical attention.
    If the material comes into contact with the skin or clothes, immediately rinse the affected area
    with clean water. Consult your physician if inflammation or soreness develops.

  • Avoid prolonged use of this product. Take a break at about 30-minute intervals.

  • Stop using this unit immediately if you begin to feel tired or if you experience discomfort or pain in your hands or arms during use. If the condition persists consult a doctor.

  • This product is intended for use with your hands only, do not bring it into close contact with your head, face or the bones of any other part of the body.

  • The vibration function of this product can aggravate injuries, do not use the vibration function if you have any ailment or injury to the bones, joints or muscles of your hands or arms. You can turn on or turn off the vibration function from (Settings) on the function screen.

  • Permanent hearing loss may occur if the headset or headphones are used at a high volume. Set the volume to a safe level. Over time, increasingly loud audio may start to sound normal but can actually be damaging to your hearing. If you experience ringing or any discomfort in your ears or muffled speech, stop listening and have your hearing checked. The louder the volume, the sooner your hearing could be affected. To protect your hearing:

    • Limit the amount of time you use headset or headphones at high volume.
    • Avoid raising the volume to block out noisy surroundings.
    • Lower the volume if you can’t hear people speaking
  • Do not stare at the light on the controller when it is blinking, if you experience discomfort or pain anywhere in or on your body from light stimulation, stop using immediately.

  • Never disassemble or modify the product.

  • Do not expose the product to high temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight.

  • Do not allow the product to come into contact with liquids.

  • Do not put heavy objects on the product.

  • Do not throw or drop the product or subject it to strong physical shock.

  • Do not touch the ports or insert any foreign objects into them.

Repair or replacement as provided under this warranty is GoodBetterBest’s exclusive prerogative.
