Usage Instructions

Anti-Flap Kit Installation
The following instructions will guide you on how to install the Anti-Flap Kit on your Secura Bar:

  1. First, make sure that you have all the necessary tools and components for installation. These should be included in the product package.
  2. Identify the locations where you want to install the Secura Bar on your caravan awning.
  3. Attach the Secura Bar to the awning at the appropriate locations using the included mounting brackets and screws.
  4. Gently tighten the screws and brackets, making sure that the Secura Bar is securely attached to the awning.
  5. Install the anti-flap kit onto the Secura Bar by sliding it onto the bar and adjusting it to fit snugly.
  6. Secure the anti-flap kit by tightening the included bolts and nuts.
  7. Test the Secura Bar and anti-flap kit for stability by checking for any movement or flapping during windy conditions. Adjust as necessary.
  8. Set awning according to instructions set by manufacturer at correct height to suit the height of the wall.
  9. The roller includes a pull strap sail track. This must be arranged at approximately 9 o’clock or 3 o’clock. This will ensure that rainwater can run off.
  10. It is preferred that the leg of the frameset stays attached to the bottom of the vehicle. If the legs are disengaged, ensure to rearrange into the patio position and use ropes, straps and pegs safely fix the awning to ground. Please note, if incorrect procedures are taken, the result can cause damage in the ratchet mechanism of the roller.
  11. Take out the Secura Bar from carton. Choose the 2 sections that will fit to the wall brackets set on the caravan. 2 sections will include the joiner piece fitted for packing purposes. By removing the 2 set screws, the joiner piece will slide out. Take out and reverse the direction, once complete, refix in place using the original set screws.
  12. Release the locking cam handles, also ensure the top clamp section of the Secura Bar is in the open position. Slide the two sections together.
  13. The bracket needs to be attached to the side of van at approx. 15mm underneath the underside of roof fabric and approx. 20mm from the edge of fabric to centre of bracket. Secondly, a 3/8” hole must be drilled into roller tube approx. 20mm from edge of fabric and 15mm down from fabric.
  14. The clip end can now be fixed into the wall bracket on the side of van. The top clamp section of the Secura Bar has to be in the open position. Lift up the bar until the it rests under the fabric of the awning. Extend fully out until the spigot falls into the place where the hole is, in the roller. The Secura Bar is now fully extended. Tighten the adjusting knob.
  15. The fabric must be held in position on top of the Secura Bar. This is the break in the middle of the two sections. Hold with one hand and tighten the locking cam handles with the other hand.
  16. Two sections of the Secura Bar should now be secured by the fabric.
