ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The GRKHD01 installation kit allows for the retention of the vehicle’s
steering wheel controls and helps maintain the original aesthetic of the
interior when installing a new car stereo. The GRKHD01 gives you everything
you need for a complete install in one box. The components of this kit are
compatible for the Honda Civic
(Hatchback, 2006-2011) with basic, non-nav factory stereos. The wiring harness
and interface will retain the steering wheel controls and original time/date
vehicle settings. It features a factory amp turn on wire and also helps retain
original climate control button functionality (if vehicle is equipped). The
interface supplied features a Honda OEM specific connector.
NB: this installation kit is for Hatchback models which feature a basic,
non-navigation stereo as standard.

FITTING GUIDE
STEREO REMOVAL
- Remove the screws that surround the centre console and pull it up and out, disconnecting the cigarette lighter in the process.
- Lever the drivers side panel and undo 1x screw inside. When this is done, take a panel removal tool to the steering wheel surround and just clip out of place to allow room for moving the fascia panel.
- Using the aide of a panel tool again, remove the gear shifter panel, this will allow you access to the 2x screws underneath the head unit that will need to be removed.
- Unclip the top plastic panel just below the display with a panel removal tool.
- Removing the top panel will uncover 3x screw atop the fascia panel, these will now need to be removed.
- Once the screws are out of the way, firmly pull the fascia panel with head unit out of the dashboard and disconnect the wiring in the process.
FASCIA PLATE SET-UP
- Once you have taken the main fascia panel off, you will need to transfer the air vents to the new fascia. To do this you will need to disengage the clips of each vent as well as a screw on either side. When free, simply re-locate onto the new fascia.
- Take the old fascia in hand and unscrew the hazard switch housing. When free, re-locate this to the corresponding space on the new fascia.
- Attach the brackets to either side of the radio. When attached, roughly test fit the radio and bracket combination in relation to the new fascia, doing this, you can best measure whether the brackets need moving forwards/backwards.
- With the bracketry aligned, go ahead and push the fascia panel into place, connecting the hazard switch in the process. When the “Stereo Installation” process is complete, you can then simply feed the stereo through the fascia’s opening and place the trim in front of the unit.

Take the steering wheel control interface and attach the 14-way steering wheel harness connector to the relevant side.
