  • Before using the product for the first time, please read the instructions for use below and retain them for later reference. The original instructions were written in the Hungarian language. This appliance may only be used by persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking in experience or knowledge, as well as children from the age of 8, if they are under supervision or have been given instruction concerning use of the appliance and they have understood the hazards associated with use. Children should not be allowed to play with the unit. Children may only clean or perform user maintenance on the appliance under supervision. After unpacking the unit, confirm that it has not been damaged during transit. Keep the packaging away from children if it contains plastic bags or other potentially hazardous components.
  • Read the instruction manual carefully before use and retain it for later reference.
  • If necessary, consult a specialist to avoid damaging the device or the vehicle.
  • Depending on the compressed files, the MP3 compression program used, and the quality of the USB/SD memory, anomalies may occur during playback, which are not due to the unit malfunctioning.
  • The playback of copy righted DRM files is not guaranteed!
  • It is also possible to connect MP3/MP4 players using a USB cable but avoid connecting external hard drives this way!
  • Do not store any additional files on the USB/microSD device other than playable files, because they can slow down or interfere playback.
  • Do not store data storage in the vehicle if it is exposed to freezing or extremely high temperatures!
  • While underway, do not do anything that distracts your attention from driving. Handling the player while driving can result in accidents.
  • Do not listen to the player too loud. Set a volume that allows you to hear external sounds while driving. Extreme volumes can also cause ermanent damage to your ears!
  • Do not disassemble or remake the player, as that can cause fire, accidents, or electric shock. Incorrect use or installation renders the warranty void.
  • Only for use in cars with a 12 V battery and a negative ground. Using the player for any other purpose can result in electric shock, damage, or fire. The player was designed exclusively for use in vehicles!
  • Always use melting fuses with the proper values (10 A). When replacing a fuse, make sure that the new fuse has the same nominal value as the one you are replacing. Using a different fuse can cause fire or damage.
  • Do not block the player’s cooling vents, as that can cause its circuits to overheat, resulting in fire. Install the player properly to ensure adequate ventilation. The air vents around the edge must be left free.
  • Make sure to connect the player correctly. Incorrect connections can result fire or other defaults.
  • Prior to wiring/installation, be sure to remove the car battery’s negative terminal connection! This will prevent any electric shock, short circuit or malfunction.
  • While installing the player never cut through cables or damage their insulation. Doing so can result in short circuit and fire!
  • Before drilling holes or inserting screws into your vehicle’s body make sure you do not damage tubes or electric wires on the other side of the cover.
  • Do not connect to any electric systems of your vehicle that operate steering, brakes, or any other safety function. Doing so can result in loss of control over the vehicle, and can cause fire.
  • Do not install the player or its accessories in a location where they can prevent you from controlling the vehicle safely, e.g., nearby the steering-wheel and the gear shift.
  • Make sure that wires do not coil around neighboring objects. Arrange cables and wires in a way that does not hinder you in driving. Wires that interfere with your movement or hang over the gear shift, the brake etc. can be extremely dangerous.
  • In case of any malfunction, turn of the player immediately, and consult your distributor. Many malfunctions are very easy to detect (e.g., no sound, bad smell, smoke, an external object inside the product etc.).
  • Make sure that no external objects get into the USB socket or the memory card slot, as these can cause fatal damage.
  • Protect it from dust, damp, liquids, heat, moisture, frost and impact, as well as direct heat or sunlight!
  • When leading the connection cables make sure that their insulation does not get damaged by any sharp metal objects nearby!
  • Do not connect any cables when the device is working.
  • The warranty is not applicable to damage caused by irresponsible or improper installation or use! This product must be installed by a specialist!

INSTALLATION

This product is able to work with smart phones. Therefore, when preparing this description we assumed that the user is in possession of general knowledge related to the management of smartphones. Setting up and using this radio is very close to the use of phones and tablets. Some phone settings may require deeper knowledge and English language skills. The first part of the description shows how to use the device independently without connecting a telephone. The radio can be used as a full-value device without the use of a telephone.

USING THE MOBILE HOLDER
Loosen the screw nut provided with the phone holder, so that the nut is still in place. Then place the holder firmly on the ball and tighten the nut by hand. The holder can be tilted and rotated so that you can use the phone horizontally or vertically. If the instrument panel above the radio contains protruding switches or other devices, it is possible to extend the holder (max. 35 mm) to provide space for the vehicle equipment. To do this, loosen the two knurled metal screws on the top of the radio, then pull out the holder and reattach it. If you need, you can move your phone away from the radio to another holder – the wireless connection will still work between them.

  • When using the phone in a horizontal position, it is recommended that the sliding, spring-loaded side of the phone holder be positioned downwards for a more comfortable, one-handed phone insertion.
  • Not recommended, but you can remove the entire phone holder from the radio if necessary by unscrewing the two metal screws completely. Then two small metal nuts may fall out of the holder, take are of it! A flat compartment will be visible on the front of the radio at the console location.

FACTORY RESET
After any event that the power supply is interrupted or the device (including its display) malfunctions, it is necessary to clear the microprocessor data. To do this, press the RST (RESET) button on the bottom right of the front panel with a thin, pointed object (such as a paper clip) for 3 seconds. The device switches off and returns to the factory default. The previous settings must be repeated. This operation must be performed after installation, before the first switch-on, and if the battery is replaced in the vehicle or if a telephone connection problem requires it.
ATTENTION! DO NOT REACH INTO THE OPENINGS NEXT TO THE RST BUTTON BECAUSE IT CAN CAUSE FAILURE!

ON/OFF SWITCH
If the cable is connected properly, the current time will be shown in blue when it is switched off. To turn on, briefly touch the button, or any touch button on the front panel. After the WELCOME greeting, it switches to the last listened source – provided the external storage device has not been removed or the mobile connection has not been disconnected in the meantime. In BT mode, you may need to reconnect your phone. The volume will be adjusted when you turn it off. To turn off, touch the same button for 3 seconds, and turn off after the GOOD-BYE message.

  • Experience the required duration of touches and the correct position of your fingertips. The effectiveness of the touches may be affected by the extreme temperatures of your fingers or the device, as well as condensation on the buttons or sweat on your hands. Touch the buttons on the largest possible area with a full, dry fingertip. If you are disturbed by the beep, you can turn it off in the SETTINGS / SYSTEM menu.
  • As voltage surges may occur when starting and stopping the engine of some vehicles, do not switch on the appliance until the engine is running. Switch off before stopping the engine.

SETTING THE VOLUME, THE TONE AND THE CLOCK
Use it briefly by tapping the buttons repeatedly to adjust the volume. You can follow the current level between VOL00…VOL63 on the display. Touch and hold these two buttons (3 sec) to access other functions. : MUTE and : CLOCK (short time display) Setting the exact time: after the clock is displayed, briefly tap the button again and the number of hours will start flashing. To scroll, use the buttons repeatedly, touching briefly, then tap to button to switch to the minutes, which you can also scroll with the buttons. At the end, wait a few seconds and the set time will be recorded automatically.

  • The speakers can be unmuted by touching briefly any button.
  • If you wait for more than a few seconds during setup, the unit exits the menu.
  • You usually do not need to set the clock, because after connecting your phone to BT, the current time will be synchronize with SMARTLINK.
  • The clock displayed when it is off is always blue, regardless of the custom display color set after it is turned on.
  • Tone control is possible in three ways (EQ, high/deep, loudness), see the SETUP section for more details.
  • If you use more than one tone setting mode at the same time, they may affect each other’s operation and result in poor sounding. When listening at a higher volume, do not emphasize the bass and treble significantly, as this may lead to distortion.

PHYSIOLOGICAL TONE CONTROL
The human ear perceives less of low and high frequency sounds at smaller volume. By turning LOUDNESS (LOUD in the menu) function on, automatic tone adjustment will correct this effect at low volume. The lower the volume is, the greater is the emphasis on bass and treble. It is recommended to switch off this function at a higher volume, as it may cause distorted sound.

  • In order to get better sound quality, before using this function it is recommended to choose EQ OFF setting, and set the high/low equalizers to „0” position.
  • The higher the volume is, the less noticeable effect on the automatic tone correction in perceivable.
  • See the SETTINGS section for more details.

SELECTING THE FUNCTIONS AND THE SIGNAL SOURCE
You can select the source you want to listen to by briefly touching the button repeatedly.
Attention; press and hold to turn off the radio! Available options:
FM radio – BT connection – USB or microSD music playback

  • The specified source cannot be activated if it is not available. For example, if no USB or microSD storage device with playable MP3 / WMA / FLAC / APE files is connected.
  • It is basically recommended to use a microSD card due to its smaller space requirement and safer placement. The USB device must be connected to the USB socket on the right, the other is for charging purposes.
  • After connection, the program of the last inserted USB or microSD device will be played.
  • The available functions depend on the settings you have made in the SETTINGS menu in each mode.

USING THE RADIO
After the unit is switched on the radio will turn on if it was being previously listened to – or the last played USB microSD signal source has been removed. If necessary, use the button on the front panel to select the functions of the radio.
Once the radio is playing, you can select from the FM1-FM2-FM3 bands by briefly touching the button. If you search for one of your favorite stations on the three bars, you can quickly select them with the button.
The functions of the buttons change depending on the status of the SETTINGS menu, see the section mentioned. It is recommended to perform automatic station search and storage (AMS) so that you can then quickly select your favorite radio stations with the scroll buttons.
: depending on the setting, this button is FM1-FM2-FM3 band changer or automatic station search and store (AMS). See the SETTINGS section.
: you can scroll the stations that have already been stored, or
: touch briefly to search for the next station. If you then change band, you can also search for tracks on FM1-FM2-FM3 band, or
: when touching and holding it, the MANUAL message shows the manual tuning mode. By briefly tapping one of the same buttons several times, you can fine tune the frequency you want to listen to. If you do not touch a button, it will return to AUTO tuning mode after 5 seconds.

  • Only after using AMS (search and store tracks) and selecting CH mode, you can scroll the stored programs with the buttons. Altogether 18 FM stations can be stored, 6-6-6 per FM1-FM2-FM3 band. The storage number is shown on the right side of the display: 1-6.
  • After AMS auto tuning, the contents of each storage location are briefly introduced by the radio and then switched to the first program found.
  • This radio does not have RDS functions.
  • See the SETTINGS section for more details.
  • The available functions depend on the menu settings you have made!
  • You can also search for and store stations in any storage location in SMARTLINK by tapping one of storage locations 1-6 – on the phone screen.

USING THE WIRELESS BT FUNCTIONS
The device can be paired with other equipment which is communicating by BT protocol. After that, music which is played by mobile phone, tablet, notebook and other similar device is audible amplified. In case of incoming call, it is possible to answer call, make the call hands-free and end call, without touching the phone. The car radio has to be connected with the external microphone supplied with it, which is recommended to be placed at head height. Try to speak in the direction that your conversation partner can hear you in even better sound quality. Keep windows closed when making a call because driving noise or a roaring ventilation fan can significantly impair speech intelligibility.

  • The external microphone must be connected to the rear M / C socket before installing the car sound system. By hiding the wire (≈3m), it can be routed under the edge of the dashboard to the appropriate point in the “A” column or awning where the microphone is clipped.
  • The sensitivity of this microphone can be adjusted, see the BT connection description in the SETTINGS menu. If your conversation partner hears you barely, increase the sensitivity!

The following extra features are available for a phone paired with the radio:
ringtone on car speakers / call number display / answer call / end call / use car radio external microphone / play BT music from phone storage or on- line / control music player on mobile device / advanced features with SMARTLINK
Answer a call: when the phone rings, the radio switches to BT mode – for example, if you listen to the radio or turn it on if it was turned off – you turn up the volume / ringtone on the car speakers and CALL IN message on the radio / the caller’s number appears / you can answer the call by touching any button (ACCEPT message) / the display shows the elapsed time of the conversation
End a call: using the button (HUNG UP text on the display) / switches back to radio mode if, for example, you have listened to it before
Touch the button for 4 seconds to disconnect and reestablish the BT connection to the phone.
Control music playback: play/pause and previous song or next song.
CONNECTION: Select BT mode with the [HANGJEGY szimbólum] button. If no external device is connected, the message NOT PAIR is displayed. Locate nearby BT devices, including this car radio, as described in the user guide of the mobile device to be paired. Connect the two devices, which require two radio profiles to be connected to the phone at the same time. These are usually called VB 8000 (or CAR BT) and SMARTLINK. The previous connection transmits the traditional BT functions to the radio (music playback, telephone conversation, call…) If successfully connected, BT ON can be read and BT MUSIC and text information while music is playing. You can then hear the phone conversation or the music playing from the phone through the car speakers.
The second (SMARTLINK) profile connects the SMARTLINK application to be installed on your phone to the radio and allows you to remotely control the radio and extend its functions. Without a SMARTLINK connection, the front panel quick buttons (voice assist, phone, navigation, messages) will not work and the message NOT PAIR may appear.
Adjust the appropriate output volume not only on the car radio but also on the phone. Many phones have a BT output and a multimedia output control in addition to the standard volume control. They should not be muted because it will result in a quiet sound transmission.

  • Even with a BT connection, the text information of the song will appear on the car sound system display, if the song contains such information. See the MUSIC PLAYBACK section for details.
  • Occasionally, you may find that certain characters appear incorrectly or not at all. This is mainly affected on the special or accented characters and not the fault of the device.
  • One radio can be paired with one BT device at the same time. Actual operation range depends on the other device and environmental conditions.
  • Volume and sound quality of BT connection is affected by the audio settings of connected mobile phone, the EQ and similar settings.
  • The display of the caller’s telephone number may also depend on the caller’s telephone setting and service provider.
  • The smooth operation of the radio and telephone may be affected by numerous external conditions beyond the control of the manufacturer of this product. Examples include phone privileges, a secure connection, operating system, third-party application features, and more.
  • In some cases, it is recommended to turn off the auto screen lock for smoother use in the vehicle or to allow it to be released externally.
  • If there is a problem with the BT connection, turn the radio off or on or turn BT mode on the phone and radio, or restart the devices, or use the RST button on the radio.
  • Other devices connected to the phone (e.g. smartphones) may affect the connection. If necessary, disconnect them and then connect the radio.

MUSIC PLAYBACK – FROM USB/MICROSD STORAGE
To listen to music from a USB / microSD source, just connect an external storage device. This is detected and playback starts automatically. The display briefly shows the name of the source (e.g. USB) and then- – if such data is available in the file – the following information may change: current directory or song number, time elapsed from the song, song title, artist, album title… When playback is stopped with the button, the PAUSE warning flashes. You can resume playback with the same button. You can resume playback with the same button. Available functions of the MP3 / WMA / FLAC / APE player:
: playback or pause by touching briefly
: touch briefly to skip to the previous or next track, or press and hold to quickly search within a song while the speakers are muted
Repeat track:  touch and hold the FUNCTION menu by briefly touching the buttons, then touching briefly, are selectable: ALL/ONE/RANDOM (repeat all songs or one song or shuffle play). See the SETTINGS section.

  • The playlist is displayed in the phone application.
  • Recommended file system of memory is: FAT32. Do not use memory unit with NTFS format!
  • If the unit does not emit sound, or the USB/microSD memory is not recognized, remove and reinsert the memory. If this is ineffective, try to choose the signal source again. If necessary, turn it off and back on, finally, press the RST button on the front panel!
  • If the unit cannot recognize the files or one part of them, copied on the external storage, then proceed as described in the previous paragraph, or you can insert the USB unit to the device which is already switched on; at that time the system will read in and update the entire content of it.
  • Remove the storage only, when you switched to source different from USB/microSD memory or the device has switched off! Otherwise the data can get injured.
  • It is forbidden to remove the connected external storage during playback!
  • By inserting the memory unit, playback will start from the first track. If you have listened to it previously, and it hasn’t been removed, then the playback will continue from the last played track, even if the device has been switched off in the meantime.
  • The USB and SD unit can be inserted only in one way. If it would get stuck, turn it over and try again, do not force!
  • Pay attention to the storage, extending from the device not to disturb you in safe driving, and do not shove or break it! It is recommended to use microSD card preferably, since it can be used more safely.
  • Leaving the media in the vehicle in extreme heat or cold may damage it.
  • The individual features of the mass storage device may cause abnormal operation, this does not indicate a malfunction of the device!

„ID3 TAG” TEXTUAL TRACK INFORMATION
At the same time as playing music files, in addition to the elapsed time of the song and its track number, the information for that track is automatically displayed if it was pre-recorded when the audio file was created.

  • The display can be 8 characters at a time and changes automatically. The textual information usually includes the followings: the name of the library, the track number, the elapsed time, the song title, the artist name, and the album title.
  • Subtitles only appear if the file contains them. This textual information can be associated with a specific track when the file is created. If there is no such accompanying information in the file or not all the displayable data is recorded, it will not appear on the display.
  • In some cases, some characters may not be displayed properly or may not be displayed at all. This may mainly affect special or accented characters and is not a malfunction of the device. The operation of the ID3 Tag function is affected by the program that created the MP3 file and its settings. If different tracks were created with different compression programs and different settings, the text information that can be displayed and the sound quality may differ from song to song.

THE „SETTINGS” MENU

A short touch of the button operates different functions in different modes; e.g. play, pause, change FM band. Touch and hold to display the SETTINGS menu. It starts with the last function used, which you can scroll with the button. If you see the parameter you want to set on the  display, tap the button. Use the button to select the desired parameter to be confirmed with the button. If additional submenus are available, you can select with the button and confirm with the button. . Only then can the actual setting be made with the button and recorded with the button. In some cases, the button is can also be used, for example when adjusting the tone (BASS, TREBLE, etc.). But most of the time you can only go back one level in the menu with the button. The button will lock the setting or just wait after selection and it will lock automatically or tap the button to step back. If you do not touch a button for 5 seconds, the setting will be recorded and stepped back automatically. The content and structure of the setup menu varies depending on the current mode (radio, music, BT). Depending on the selected setting, the functions of the e.g. buttons may change when you exit the menu.

THE MOBILE PHONE APPLICATION
An application (English language) must be installed on your phone, then its basic settings must be made and all data access (data security permissions) required for the two devices to work together smoothly must be enabled on your phone. A list of these can be found in the application store, in the program description. For example, access is needed to: contacts, phone calls, location data, storage, screen lock off, BT pairing and settings, rearrange running applications, full network access, prevent sleep mode… Newer phones are becoming more and more secure. Cooperation is not guaranteed in
case of missing permits! Some buttons and functions do not work and the application may crash and then require a restart – until the desired setting is made! If you cannot agree with this, do not use the device with the application, only as a traditional car radio.
By connecting a mobile phone with the appropriate specifications and settings wirelessly (BT), radio operation will be more convenient and additional functions will be available. The radio can be used as a full-value device without a telephone. It can also be operated with the touch buttons on the front panel. Most menus can be displayed in vertical or horizontal orientation. By the time of writing this description, the SETTINGS menu can be handled on a vertical position phone and the USER EQ function is under construction. The basic settings only need to be made once. We cannot show you how to set the permissions for your phone, as they may vary by phone.

Install SMARTLINK GOGOSUNNY application on your phone.
Depending on your phone type, search the app stores.
Requirements when preparing this description:

  • iOS10.3 or newer operation system iPhone phone
  • Android 5.0 or newer operation system Android phone

ATTENTION! In addition to the VB 8000 (CAR BT) profile, the SMARTLINK wireless connection must also be active between the two devices.

In SETTINGS menu, you can customize the operation of SMARTLINK. When using it for the first time, it is recommended to select the – installed on the phone – applications, which will start when touching the front panel quick buttons.
For example, if you have multiple navigation applications on your phone, you must select one of them to start when the “compass” button is touched.

  • The operation of these functions depends to a large extent on the type of phone, the current operating system, the installed applications, their versions and the privacy settings approved on the phone! The SMARTLINK application is a third-party product whose condition, operation, and development are not affected by the manufacturer of this product. Therefore, the manufacturer of this product cannot guarantee full operation in all circumstances.
  • Some functions, e.g. different voice assistants are not available in all geographic regions, depending on their service provider.
  • Without privacy permissions, some functions will not start and the software may crash. It is necessary to unlock system restrictions (e.g. battery saving mode, start application in the background, appearance at the top…)
  • If the image does not rotate when you turn the phone, make sure that image rotation is enabled on the phone.
  • Due to differences between mobile phones and their operating systems, malfunctions and incompatibilities may occur that are not due to a malfunction of this unit. Interconnection may be affected by third party software or hardware solutions, and its operation, development, and changes are independent of the manufacturer of this product.
  • If the application malfunctions, make sure you have the latest updates. If necessary, delete and then reinstall it. Updating may change the operation.
  • Operation of all functions as described in this description may not be guaranteed for reasons beyond the control of the manufacturer of this unit.
  • The instructions in the “ID3 Tag” section also apply here to the display of possibly unreadable characters.

Important information:

  • When you start the application, the turned off radio turns on and the application switches to the same mode as the radio (e.g. radio or USB).
  • When you turn off the radio with the front panel button, the application also exits. If you turn off the radio with the ignition key, the application must also be restarted.
  • By changing function on the radio, the application follows this and vice versa.
  • When you receive a call, it is recommended to answer it on the phone. In this case, fewer permits are required.
  • For BT music playback, start your phone’s music player, then select the BT symbol in the bottom row of SMARTLINK application. The title of the current song is also displayed in the application. Switch to the music player to see the full list.
  • When playing microSD and USB, you can display the full playlist in the application in addition to the current song title.

USB FAST CHARGING
The dedicated USB socket on the left side of the device provides fast charging, the USB device containing the tracks must be connected to the right side. Use the factory charger cable of your phone. You can place your phone not only in the phone holder of the radio, but also in a different holder on the dashboard.

CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER AND AN ACTIVE SUBWOOFER
The 4xRCA stereo audio output is located on the backside of the device. The white and red RCA sockets are the outputs of the left and right audio channels. They ensure that you can connect an external amplifier or active subwoofer with a low level input (LINE IN). This gives you the opportunity to further raise the  volume and sound quality. The first column has RL white (rear left) and RR red (rear right), and the second has FL white (front left) and FR red (front right channel) output.

PRECAUTIONS
Cleaning
Use a soft, dry cloth for regular cleaning. To remove stronger stains, wet the cloth slightly with water. Avoid scratching the display’s surface; never wipe the display when it is dry, and do not use a rough cloth to clean the display. Do not use detergents! Make sure no liquid gets inside the product or onto the connectors!

Temperature

CONNECTING SPEAKERS

In some cases, increasing the volume will not proportionally increase the bass level. This is dependent on the number of speakers used and their positioning, moreover, a speaker in the vehicle might also be wired out of phase.

  1. When two front speakers are used:
    • Reverse the +/- polarity of either the right or left front speaker (the wires leading to either speaker should be reversed anywhere between the head unit and the speaker).

  2. When four speakers are used:
    • A., If both the front and rear speakers are built into the doors (or otherwise isolated from each other, such as in a sound box), then the polarity of either speaker in both the front and rear should be reversed.
    • B., If the front speakers are built into the doors but the rear speakers are built into the hat rack panel, then only the polarity of either front speaker should be reversed. The rear speakers’ wires should  remain unaltered.
