TROUBLESHOOTING

If an error is detected, turn off the device and then try to turn it back on. If the problem persists, review the following list. This guide can help you narrow the error if the device is otherwise connected as specified. If necessary, consult a specialist!

The device does not work.

  • The radio is not on or muted.
    • Check the position of the VOLUME rotary switch.
  • The battery is discharged or the insulating sheet is not removed.
    • Check the battery in the battery compartment. Charge the battery.

The volume decreases, the sound quality deteriorates

  • Decreasing supply voltage affects operation.
    Charge the battery!

The reception is weak and noisy

  • Due to its characteristics, AM reception is suitable for listening to radio stations further away, but the sound quality is poorer. On the FM band, better quality but closer transmitters can be received.
    • Check which band the station you want to listen to is broadcasting on. If possible, it is recommended to use the FM band.
  • The length of the antenna is not sufficient.
    • Fully extend the antenna and find the best position. In case of AM band, do not pull out the telescopic antenna and turn the radio in the right direction.
  • The purchasing conditions are bad. You are in an area or environment that has poor coverage.
    • Choose another radio station or another waveband that can be received in better quality. Keep in mind that nearby electrical equipment or larger metal objects can interfere with reception.

POWER SUPPLY

The device has a replaceable battery that can be charged in two ways. You can connect a standard USB charger (min. 5V/500mA, not included, e.g. SA 24USB) to the DC 5V IN (microUSB) socket. Another option is to use a solar panel that can be folded out from the back. The most effective is if the light hits it perpendicularly. This can be natural light, direct sunlight or artificial light. The stronger it is, the faster it charges. It is not necessary to expose the radio to the open air, it is also charged by the sunlight coming through the window. This is the recommended charging method. You can put e.g. on a desk under the reading lamp. That way, if you use a lamp, the radio is also being charged. If you want to charge it as soon as possible or if it had been discharged while listening, it is advisable to use a USB charger. The CHARGE LED lights up during charging and turns off when charging is complete. A fully discharged battery can be charged in about 2.5 hours with a cable and in about 4-6 hours in strong sunlight or under strong lamplighi After that, you can listen to the radio at medium volume for about 11 hours or the BT/USB/microSD functions for about 3 hours. It can also be listened to while charging, although this slows down the process. Charge the discharged battery immediately! Do not leave a discharged radio switched on!

  • The 18650 battery is located in the back battery compartment. Before use, remove the insulating sheet, if provided. The insulating sheet prevents the device from operating during transport. • The battery must be inserted according to the polarity marked in the battery holder.

  • Can only be used in dry conditions – even when charging outdoors. Do not expose to moisture!

  • If you do not use it for a long time, remove the previously charged battery!

  • It is recommended to charge the battery every 3 months even if the device is not used.
Decreased volume or distorted sound may indicate a low battery. Recharge immediately!

  • The battery can only be handled by adults, keep it out of reach of children!

  • If liquid has leaked out, wear protective gloves and clean the battery holder with a dry cloth! The batteries must not be opened, thrown into fire or short-circuited! Do not charge non-chargeable batteries! Danger of explosion!

  • Attention! The glass surface of the solar panel is fragile, handle with care!

  • Do not leave the device in the sun for longer than necessary!

  • At the end of its life, remove the battery for recycling!

STARTUP

If you have already removed the insulating sheet from the battery, you can turn it on with the VOL knob. Adjust the desired volume. When you’re done using it, you can use the same button to turn it off by turning it until it clicks. The desired operating mode can be selected with the slide switch is located at the top. MUSIC/FM/AM/SW: BT-USB-microSD multimedia player / FM-AM- SW radio tracks. USING THE RADIO Select one of the three wavebands with the slide switch. The best sound quality is provided by the FM band. If you are listening to this (or the SW band), carefully pull out the antenna and rotate it around to adjust for best reception. When listening to the AM band, an internal antenna works. In this case, do not pull out the antenna, but turn the device to the best reception position.

USING THE RADIO

  • The reception capability of the radio depends to a large extent on the place of use and the current reception conditions.
  • To improve the efficiency of the built-in antenna, place the device so, that you get the best radio reception! Nearby electrical equipment and larger metal obiects can interfere with reception.

WIRELESS BT CONNECTION

In the MUSIC position of the MUSIC/M/AM/SW switch, you can achieve two different functions. The wireless BT connection allows you to connect a mobile phone, tablet, computer, music player or even a television. The radio can be paired with other devices communicating according to the BT protocol, within a maximum range of 10 meters. After that, you can listen to the music played on the mobile phone or other similar device. the device to be paired. Connect the two devices together. In case of successful pairing, a sound signal is heard. The player application of the playback device (e.g. on the mobile phone) can usually be remotely controlled by briefly pressing the PREV (4), NEXT (w) and PAUSE ( Il) buttons. This may also depend on the external device. Remember that volume and sound quality depend on both the radio and phone volume controls. You can adjust the tone on your phone.

  • One radio can be paired with one BT device at the same time
  • If the wireless connection is lost, turn the MUSIC mode off and on again if necessary, and the pairing mode will be activated again. You can also turn BT mode off and on again on the connected device.
  • If you receive a call on the connected mobile phone while listening to music, music playback will pause. After the conversation, start playback on the phone.
  • In some cases, the BT function may work to a limited extent due to the unique characteristics of the external device.
  • The actual range depends on the other device and the environmental conditions. (e.g. walls, human bodies, other electrical devices, movement…)
  • Abnormal operation and noise may be caused by electrical devices operating or connected nearby, this does not indicate a malfunction of the device!

Music playback does not work.

  • A write error occurred. The file format is not compatible.
    • Make sure the file format is correct.
  • Contact problem at the USB/microSD socket
    • Check whether a foreign object has entered the connector. If necessary, clean gently with a dry brush. – Improper (e.g. slanted or rough) connection can also cause a contact problem.

Reconnect the external unit.

  • Defective or non-standard external memory unit.
    • Due to manufacturing variance, there may be differences between USB/SD memory units of the same type that affect use. Playback is noisy.
  • A write error occurred. The file format is not compatible.
    • Make sure the file format is correct
  • The data carrier is faulty or a contact error occurred during connection.
    • Check the compatibility and connection of the data carrier.
  • A data copy error occurred.
    • Check the compression software used and the computer.
