Safety and maintenance

KITCHEN SCALE IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE USE AND RETAIN IT FOR LATER REFERENCE!

WARNINGS

  • Before using the product for the first time, please read the instructions for use below and retain them for later reference. The original instructions were written in the Hungarian language.
  • Place the scale on a solid, horizontal surface.
  • The maximum carrying capacity of the scale is 5000 g/ 11 lb, including the tare weight as well.
  • Protect the device from shocks, dampness, dust, chemicals, extreme temperature changes, electromagnetic fields, and direct heat radiation.
  • To protect the scale lifespan, do not expose it to too hot, wet, or cold weather circumstances.
  • This device belongs to the family of electric measuring instruments with high accuracy, so please do not push or drop it, since it can cause damage of the scale.
  • The product is only intended to measure objects related to food, do not use for legal or commercial purposes.
  • In case the results seem incorrect, please check the battery and its contacts.
  • Remove the battery when not planning to use it for a longer period of time!
  • Do not use different kinds of batteries and/or used and new batteries together!
  • Battery replacement can only be performed by an adult! Keep batteries out of reach of children!
  • Due to continuous improvements the design and specifications may change without any prior notice.

Keep away from children!

Remove the battery if you are not planning to use the product for an extended period of time. If there is any liquid flown out from the battery, wear protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth. Immediately remove the depleted battery. Warning! Risk of explosion in case of incorrect battery replacement! It can be replaced only with the same or a replacement type. Do not expose the batteries to direct heat radiation and sunshine. It is forbidden to open them up, to throw them into fire or to short-circuit them. Non-rechargeable batteries must not be charged. Risk of explosion! Do not insert an accumulator instead of the battery, because it provides significantly lower voltage and efficiency. Do not weld or solder directly to the battery. Store unused batteries in their original packaging, away from metal objects. Do not mix batteries that have already been unpacked.

INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the cover of the battery compartment at the bottom of the scale and insert 2 pcs 1,5 V (AAA) batteries, then replace the cover of the battery compartment.
  2. Place the scale on a solid, horizontal surface.
  3. Touch the ON/OFF button to switch it on or off.

CLEANING

Use a soft, slightly wet cloth to clean the surface of the scale. Never immerse the scale to water, or rinse under running water. Do not use chemical cleaners. Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaners.

DISPOSAL
Waste equipment must be collected and disposed of separately from household waste because it may contain components hazardous to the environment or health. Used or waste equipment may be dropped off free of charge at the point of sale, or at any distributor which sells equipment of identical nature and function. Dispose of the product at a facility specializing in the collection of electronic waste. By doing so, you will protect the environment as well as the health of others and yourself. If you have any questions, contact the local waste management organization. We shall undertake the tasks pertinent to the manufacturer as prescribed in the relevant regulations and shall bear any associated costs arising.

DISPOSING OF ALKALINE AND RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES

Batteries, whether alkaline or rechargeable, must not be handled together with regular household waste. It is the legal obligation of the product’s user to dispose of batteries at a nearby collection center or at a retail shop. This ensures that the batteries are ultimately neutralized in an environment- friendly way.

MEASUREMENT PROCESS

  1. Press the ON/OFF button, located to the right of the display. After 2 seconds „0” will appear on the display.

  2. Use the UNIT button to change the unit of measure.

  3. Place the container bowl on the scale, then the LCD display will show its weight.

  4. Press the ON/OFF button, “0” value will appear on the LCD display. After you reset the scale with the bowl on it, place the food to be
    measured into the bowl. At that time the weight of the food will be displayed.

  5. Press and hold the ON/OFF button to switch it off.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Remove the cover of the battery compartment at the bottom of the scale and remove the battery from it. Replace with 2 pcs 1,5 V (AAA) batteries, then replace the cover of the battery compartment. When replacing batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity!
