Thank you for purchasing the Nedis KADF401FSR.
This document is the user manual and contains all the information for correct, efficient and safe use of the product.
This user manual is addressed to the end user. Read this information carefully before installing or using the product.
Always store this information with the product for use in the future.

Intended use
The Nedis KADF401FSR is a deep fryer with a 4.0 l capacity.
This product is only intended for frying food.
The product is intended for indoor use only.
The product is not intended for professional use.
This product is intended for use in household environments for typical housekeeping functions that may also be used by non-expert users for typical housekeeping functions.
This product can be used by children aged from 12 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.
Any modification of the product may have consequences for safety, warranty and proper functioning.

Safety instructions
WARNING
- Ensure you have fully read and understood the instructions in this document before you install or use the product. Keep the packaging and this document for future reference.
- Only use the product as described in this document.
- Do not use the product if a part is damaged or defective. Replace a damaged or defective product immediately.
- Do not drop the product and avoid bumping.
- This product may only be serviced by a qualified technician for maintenance to reduce the risk of electric shock.
- Do not use external timers or remote control systems to switch the product on or off.
- Unplug the product from the power source and other equipment if problems occur.
- Do not let the power cable hang over the edge of a table or counter.
- Avoid spillage on the power connector.
- Do not use an extension cable.
- Do not let the power cable touch hot surfaces.
- Connect to a grounded outlet only.
- Unplug the product when not in use and before cleaning.
- Do not unplug the product by pulling on the cable. Always grasp the plug and pull.
- Do not wind the power cable around the product.
- Do not attempt to repair the product. If the product does not operate correctly, replace it with a new product.
- Keep the product out of reach from children.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the product.
- Place the product on a stable and flat surface.
- Do not place the product in a cabinet when in use.
- Ensure a minimum of 10 cm free space around the product to provide enough ventilation during frying.
- Only use the product in a well-ventilated area.
- Do not leave the product unattended when switched on.
- Do not expose the product to water, rain, moisture or high humidity.
- Only handle the product with dry hands. Handling with wet hands might cause an electric shock.
- Never immerse the product in water or place it in a dishwasher.
- Prevent water and/or ice from mixing with oil or fat, as this causes heavy spattering or violent bubbling of the oil or fat. To minimize spattering, remove all excess ice from frozen ingredients before you fry them and dry ingredients thoroughly before you fry them. Do not overfill the pan. After cleaning, dry all parts thoroughly before you put oil or fat in the fryer.
- Do not fry Asian rice cakes (or similar types of food) in this appliance. This might cause heavy spattering or violent bubbling of the oil or fat.
- Make sure the fryer is always filled with oil or fat to a level between the Min – Max indicators on the inside of the inner pan to prevent either overflowing or overheating.
- Never use the product without oil or fat, this will damage the product.
- During frying hot steam may escape through the openings. Keep your hands and face at a safe distance. Also be careful of hot steam when you remove the lid.
- Do not cover ventilation openings.
- Make sure the product is switched off and the oil is cooled down, before moving the product.
- Only move the product in an upright position.
- Do not expose the product to direct sunlight, naked flames or heat.
- Keep distance from flammable objects.
- Never try to put a fire out with water. Switch off the product, close the lid and place a damp cloth over the product to smother the flames. Leave the damp cloth in place for at least half an hour to make sure the fire is out.
- Do not touch the hot parts of the product directly.
- Do not use the product if the surface is cracked.
- Do not use any accessories that are not included.
- Always use the carrying handles when moving the product
- Make sure that the basket handle is installed correctly before using the product

Electronic equipment needs to bear the CE mark in order to be marketed in the EU. CE marking shows that a product is assessed before being placed on the market and that it meets EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements. CE marking is also sometimes accepted as a means of compliance with type-approval requirements; for example, electronic components that require type-approval and also CE marking for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) or low-voltage equipment.

Indication to explain that the product needs to be collected separately when disposed. Do not throw in the trash bin.
Installation
Check the contents of the package
Check that all parts are present and that no damage is visible on the parts. If parts are missing or damaged, contact the Nedis B.V. service desk via the website: www.nedis.com.
Before first use
Place the product on a stable, flat and heat resistant surface.
Ensure a minimum of 10 cm free space around the product to provide enough ventilation during frying.
1. Remove all packaging material, protective stickers and covers from the product.
2. Clean the basket A2, the inner pan A3, housing A4 and lid A13 in warm soapy water.
A2, 3, 4 and r are dishwasher safe.
3. Rinse A2,3,4 and 13 with warm water.
4. Wipe A2,3,4 and 13 dry.
Make sure that all parts are dry before you fill the fryer with oil or fat.

1. Place the basket handle Au onto the basket hook A1 as shown in image B.

1. Assemble the product in the order as shown in image C.
Push the heating element A15 all the way down into A4 to activate the safety switch. Otherwise A15 may not be able to heat the oil.
Filling the inner pan with oil
Switch off the product and allow it to cool down before proceeding with the following steps.
1. Fill A3 with oil between the min – max indicators.
Filling the inner pan with solid fat
Switch off the product and allow it to cool down before proceeding with the following steps.
1. Set the control dial A8 to the lowest temperature.
2. Add the solid fat in small pieces.
Wait until the piece of solid fat has melted before adding the next piece.
3. Increase the temperature to the desired setting.
Only increase the temperature once the solid fat has melted to prevent the solid fat from overheating.
Use
Using the product
Never use the product without oil or fat, this will damage the product.
Make sure the fryer is always filled with oil or fat to a level between the Min – Max indicators on the inside of the inner pan to prevent either overflowing or overheating.
Only use the product for frying food.
1. Place A13 on A3.
2. Plug the power cable At into the power outlet.
- The power indicator LED A7 lights up.
3. Check the food packaging for the required frying temperature and duration.
4. Set A8 to the correct temperature.
- The heat indicator LED A6 lights up.
- Do not place food in the product before it has reached the set temperature.
- A6 switches off when the oil has reached the set temperature.
5. Remove Ar from A3.
6. Lift A2 and hang it on the edge of A3.
- Follow the frying instructions on the packaging of the food to get the best results.
- Remove all excess ice from frozen food and dry the food thoroughly before you place them in the product.
7. Fill A2 with food.
8. Slowly lower A2 into the oil to prevent the oil from heavy spattering.
9. Place A13 on A3.
- A6 automatically switches on and off to maintain the set oil temperature during frying.
- Be careful when opening the lid, hot steam may escape.
- Regularly check if the food has not been fried too deep.
10. When the food is ready, turn A8 to Min.
11. Remove A13 from A3.
- A16 may be hot when the product is used for a longer period of time.
12. Lift A2 and hang on the edge of A3 to let the oil drip off into A3.
- Be careful, the basket and food are hot.
13. Remove the food with a food tong or by lifting A2 out of the product and emptying it into a bowl or onto a plate.
14. Unplug A14 from the power outlet after use.
15. Allow the product to cool down completely (1-2 hours).
Tips for preparing food
- Remove all excess ice from frozen food and dry the food thoroughly before you place them in the product.
- Fill A2 with a maximum of 700 grams chips for an evenly golden fried result.
- Make sure that the food is roughly the same size so the food fries evenly. Avoid very thick pieces of food.

Resetting the product
The product has a built in overheat protection. When the product has been in use for a prolonged time, the overheat protection activates and cancels the current frying process.
Switch off the product and allow it to cool down before proceeding with the following steps.
1. Press the reset button A9 to reset the product.
Ay has been reset and is ready to be used again.

Maintenance
- Switch off and unplug the product when not in use or before maintenance.
- Make sure oil or fat has cooled down, before removing the oil.
- Do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, acid or acetone when cleaning the product.
- Never immerse the product in water or place it in a dishwasher.
- Do not attempt to repair the product. If the product does not operate correctly, replace it with a new product.
Changing the oil
1. Unplug At from the power outlet.
- Make sure oil or fat has cooled down, before removing the oil.
2. Pour the oil in an empty oil container.
- Used oil is harmful to the environment. Follow the guidelines issued by the local authorities for disposing the oil.
3. Clean the product after removing the oil. Follow the instructions in the next paragraph.
- Dry all parts thoroughly before you put oil or fat in the fryer.
- Always replace all oil, do not mix new and old oil.
- Change the oil after every 10 frying sessions or as soon as it becomes dark, or if the smell of the oil has changed.
- Change the oil if you recognize high concentration of water in the oil. You can recognize this by large bubbles, water droplets or water vapour.
- If you switch on the product with water mixed in the oil, it can spatter out with an explosion during frying.
- Store the oil in the product or in an airtight container in a dry, cool and dark place.
Cleaning the product
Avoid abrasives that can damage the surface.
- A2, 3, 4 and 13 are dishwasher safe.
1. Remove any food residue from the inside of A3 With a paper tissue.
2. Clean A2, 3, 4 and 13 thoroughly in warm soapy water by using a dishwashing brush.
3. Rinse A2,3,4 and 13 with warm clean water.
4. Clean the outside of the product with a soft clean, damp cloth.
- Make sure that all parts are dry before you fill the fryer with oil or fat.
Changing the filter
The filter A10 is intended to reduce the smell of frying.
Change the filter regularly, to retain the filters efficiency.

Any changes and/or modifications to the product will void the warranty. We accept no liability for damage caused by improper use of the product.
This product is designed for private use (normal domestic use) only. Nedis is not responsible for wear, defect and/or damages caused by commercial use of the product.
