Start by pulling it out of the box; find a clean area to lay it down and install the hardware. Next, take the rubber gasket and starting at one end firmly place it along the entire outer edge of the rear window. You will need to peel back the protective film from the edge to install the gasket. If you leave the bulk of the protective film on while installing you can avoid scratching the windshield. Ensure that the gasket is seated fully home on along the edge to ensure a good fit of the windshield.
-
Next install the vent slider on the inside of the rear window. Make sure that it is on the side of the window that the soft rubber bulb is facing on the gasket.
-
Take the 2″ bolt and slide the black spacer on it. Then put it in the round hole in the vent slider and tighten it down with the lock nut on the other side. When placing the slider on the window make sure that the lock nut fits in the large slot in the rear window as shown in the photo below.
-
Now put the white plastic slide fasteners through the slots on the slider and into the holes of the window to secure it in place. Work the slider back and forth a few times to get it to slide smoother. See the photo below.
-
Once the gasket and vent slider is in place install the three small brackets along the bottom of the Rear Window. Place the bracket on the inside or bulb side of the Rear Window so that the bent part of the bracket faces toward the bottom as shown in the photo below. Don’t fully tighten it down yet.
-
Next, place the Rear window on the frame of the Prowler and hook the brackets on the bottom of the frame as shown in the photo below. You will need to get someone else to hold the Rear Window in place in order to install the remaining brackets.
-
Now install the rest of the large brackets across the top and down the sides of the Rear Window. They are made to grab hold of the frame and pull the window tightly against the frame as shown in the photos below.
-
Enjoy, and remember- when cleaning the rear window do so gently at first with warm water and mild detergent to dislodge any grit that may scratch the Polycarbonate. After rinsing and drying with a soft cloth, you may then polish the windshield with an appropriate commercially available plastic polish, also available from Falcon Ridge. This will ensure many seasons of clarity and keep scratching and swirling to a minimum. Never use cleaners such as Windex that contain ammonia as doing so may adversely affect the rear window.
Thank you for your purchase!
