NOTICE: Please check the contents of the package for any damage and make
sure all parts fit correctly and you are happy with the product before
removing the protective film. Once the film is removed you cannot return the
product for a full refund.
-
Be sure to read these instructions thoroughly before opening and installing the John Deere 835 Polycarbonate Windshield.
-
Check over the parts included in the cartons with the parts list shown below:
Metal Brackets| 4 each
---|---
11/4” SS Bolts| 6 each
Nylon Bolts| 10 each
Small SS Washers| 6 each
Large SS Washers| 4 each
Large Rubber Washers| 4 each
Slide Fasteners| 8 each
Lock Nuts| 4 each
Plastic Thumb Nuts| 2 each
53″ Adhesive Padding| 1 each
11″ Side Bulb Gasket| 2 each
19″ Side Bulb Gasket| 2 each
60” Side Bulb Gasket| 1 each
Sliding Vent Panels| 2 each
Lexan Windshield| 2 Pieces -
Start by pulling it out of the box and find a clean area to lay it down and install the hardware. Next, take the rubber gasket and starting at one end firmly place it along the entire bottom edge of the lower Windshield Section. You will need to peel back the protective film from the edge to install the gasket. If you leave the bulk of the protective film on while installing you can keep from scratching the windshield.
-
Next, Install the Aero-Vent sliders as shown in the diagram below.
|
---|--- -
Now install the lower portion to the upper portion using the nylon bolts. There are Nine holes in both section with the holes in the upper portion being bigger. Set the upper portion on top of the lower portion and screw them together making sure that the slots on the ends are lined up. The photo below shows how this looks.
-
Now install the 11″ and 19″ side bulb gaskets on the sides of the windshield above and below where the windshield was screwed together and where it is double thickness.
-
Last part to install on the windshield before putting it on the vehicle is the rubber padding that goes along the top edge of the windshield. See Photo Below
-
It’s time to install the windshield on the vehicle. There are two slots on either side, they get attached to the vehicle using the bent metal brackets provided. To do so start rom outside in with a 11/4″ bolt, large metal washer and large rubber washer. Put these in the slots from the outside. Then place the metal bracket on the inside so that it raps around the frame and the bolt is in hole. Lastly put a small washer and lock nut on the bolt and tight. See photos below
-
Now you are ready to take it out and enjoy. To clean the windshield, always clean using a liquid of some sort to decrease the chance of scratches. We recommend using micro.fiber cloths that are readily available at any dollar store. Any window cleaner will work fine; just remember to use a soft clean rag or micro-fiber cloth to clean it.
