FALCON RIDGE PO-10MIDRANGER-FC04 Ranger 400 Full Cab Enclosure
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
CAUTION: Do not smoke inside the cab or expose the enclosure to direct
flames. Product is FLAMMABLE.
Be sure to read these instructions thoroughly before opening and installing
the enclosure. The installation is best done when ambient temperature is 70°F
or warmer. If installed in cold weather, warming the adhesive Velcro strips
before installation is recommended.
- Carefully open the carton and unroll the enclosure onto a large flat surface that is clean and free of dirt or other material that may soil or scratch the vinyl windows.
- It will help to raise the bed prior to installing the cab enclosure.
- Check over the parts included in the carton with the parts list shown below:
- Velcro hook strips 4 each 10” long
- Velcro hook strips 10 each 3” long
- Velcro hook strips 2 each 12” long
- Snap studs 15each (1 extra)
- Cab enclosure 1 each
- There are two components to this cab enclosure, the windshield and the soft enclosure. The enclosure will go over the top of the windshield across the visor and will attach to the roll cage under the windshield down the sides. It works best to install the cab enclosure first to get all of the Velcro in place and then remove it. Then install the windshield and reinstall the cab over top and under the windshield. To install the Lexan windshield, refer to the separate instructions provided.
- Begin by raising the bed of the Ranger; clean the chassisbehind the cab with rubbing alcohol, and affix the 55” adhesive Velcro stripas illustrated in fig. A. Now place the cab enclosure on the Ranger; from the front walk it up and over to get it onto the roll cage. Once it is on, zip up the doors and make sure that the cab is centered and in place.
- Now start in the rear and pull the Velcro down and attach it to the adhesive strip you have placed along the rear. It should reach to the bottom and be centered; you may have to detach and reattach until it is where you want it to be.
- With assistance, pull the front sides of the cab down and wrap the Velcro tabs around the roll cage and ensure the bottom front with the snaps are in the right place to wrap around the fender and snap just inside the fender well. Mark the locations of the sewn-on Velcro tabs, andrefer to fig. B to apply the corresponding adhesive strips to the front downtubes. Finish by attaching the Velcro tabs on the enclosure to their respective adhesive strips on the downtubes on both sides of the vehicle.
- Now install the snaps along the inside of the fenders to match up with the snaps on the cab enclosure and you are ready to go. The photos below will help show you where the snaps go.
- Now remove the cab and install the Lexan windshield according to the separate instructions provided.
- Now to reinstall the cab enclosure, remove the two bottom clamps on the windshield so that you can raise it up and fit the Velcro tabs sewn onto the doors through to the adhesive sections on the roll cage. Now fit the enclosure up and over the top of the roll cage and pull it down and reattach all of the Velcro and snaps to line everything up correctly. Lifting up on the windshield slip the tabs through and attach and reinstall the lower clamps; slide them up under the front of the enclosure and around the roll cage.
- All that remains is to attach the small Lexan brace across the top of the windshield. You will have to cut small slits through the material to allow the bolts through and sandwich the fabric between the windshield and brace. Refer to the diagrams in the separate instructions for installing the Lexan windshield. Congratulations! You have now finished the installation process.
Cleaning and Storage Recommendations:
- Before removing the enclosure for storage, make sure it is clean and dry, to prevent soiling the textile and scratching the clear vinyl windows. Clean with a soft rag or sponge using a mild liquid detergent soap and warm water solution. Let the enclosure dry thoroughly before attempting to roll for storage.
- It is important that the enclosure be rolled up for storage rather than folding. Folding will cause undesirable creasing of both the enclosure textile and the clear vinyl windows. Carefully roll up the enclosure similar to the way it was when it was packed at the factory. Put the rolled enclosure back into the carton for storage at a normal room temperature. It is best not to expose the enclosure to either extreme hot or cold temperatures when storing.
- A special cleaner/conditioner is available from Falcon Ridge that will greatly increase the service life of the cab enclosure. If needed, additional hook and loop sets are available, as well as other spare parts and hardware. Contact Falcon Ridge for information.
- Transporting or trailering your UTV with the enclosure installed is not generally recommended. It is best to remove the enclosure before transporting your UTV.
