Instructions for Installation

KAW-3010TRANS-FC03
Caution: Do not smoke inside the cab or expose the enclosure to direct flames. Product is FLAMMABLE. Be sure to read these instructions thoroughly before opening and installing the enclosure. The installation is best done when the temperature is 70°F or warmer. If installed outside and in the cold weather, warming the adhesive Velcro strips inside just before installation is recommended.

  1. Carefully open the carton and remove the rolled-up cab enclosure on a large flat surface that is clean and free of dirt or other material that may soil the cab or scratch the clear vinyl windows. Check over the parts included in the carton with the parts list shown below:

    • Velcro hook strips 2 each 4” long
    • Velcro hook strips 14 each 6” long
    • Velcro hook strips 2 each 8” long (1” wide)
    • Velcro hook strips 2 each 8” long
    • Velcro hook strips 2 each 10” long
    • Velcro hook strips 1 each 43” long
    • Screw snaps 11 each (1 extra)
    • Cab enclosure 1 each
  2.  Open up the enclosure; it will be in 4 separate pieces when removed from the packaging. With the help of another person drape the top of the enclosure over the top of the roll cage and arrange into the correct position.FALCON-RIDGE-Mule-3010 -amp;-4010-Trans-Cab -amp;-Front-Windshield-FIG-1

  3. Working your way to the rear of the roll cage, fit the enclosure into position. Wrap the bars with the 6” adhesive hook strips directly above the air intake vents on both sides of the roll cage frame. Firmly grasp the rear corners of the windshield/top and pull them down to the Velcro; wrap the double-sided Velcro strips around the hook strips you previously applied to the roll cage tube.

  4.  At this point get help from a friend; with both of you pulling down on both sides of the front of the enclosure (the long strip portions), use a crayon or similar non-permanent marker to mark the locations  of the Velcro tab sewn to the bottom of the front enclosure strips onto the frame tubes. Apply a 10” adhesive strip onto the roll cage tubes on both sides of the frame, lengthwise on the inside of the tubes at the bottom just above the attachment brackets and facing each other. Attach the corresponding Velcro tab at the bottoms of the front enclosure strips to the hook strips previously applied to the insides of the bottoms of the frame tubes. Now apply the 8” adhesive hook strips to the insides of the roll cage tubes at the next Velcro tab up, in the same manner as you did with the 10” strips. Repeat this step with the 4” Velcro tab above that, and then with the 6” tab at the top. Attach the rest of the Velcro tabs to the hook strips on the frame tubes. Finally locate the double-sided Velcro strips at the center roll cage tube but do not pull down; merely wrap the tubes at this location with 6” Velcro strips; one on each side of the roll cage. Wrap the double-sided Velcro strips around the hook strips to attach the center of the top of the enclosure. See diagram in fig.1.

  5. Install the Polycarbonate windshield. See separate instructions for windshield assembly, however do not attach the upper brace to the windshield until windshield has been fitted to vehicle. Ensure that the top of the windshield slides underneath the front visor at the top of the enclosure. Slide the clamps around the tubes as illustrated in the Polycarbonate windshield installation instructions. The clamps will fit around the tubes at the gaps between the Velcro tabs on the enclosure. Follow the rest of the Polycarbonate windshield installation instructions as written, however do not yet install the upper brace. Ensure that the binding underneath the visor at both sides lines up with the vertical edges of the Polycarbonate windshield on both sides; some position adjustment of the front enclosure strips may be necessary. Locate the holes for the upper brace in the windshield; holes in the front visor will need to be made with a small blade to fit the upper brace over the outside of the visor. The visor should be sandwiched between the brace and the windshield. See diagram in fig.2.FALCON-RIDGE-Mule-3010 -amp;-4010-Trans-Cab -amp;-Front-Windshield-FIG-2

  6. Once the main enclosure and windshield have been fitted to the vehicle, move to the rear and attach the rear window to the enclosure at the zipper across the top, on the outside of the divider screen. Mark the location where the bottom of the rear window meets the divider screen and apply the 43” adhesive hook strip provided across the divider screen. Attach the Velcro sewn in across the bottom of the rear window to the adhesive hook strip across the bottom of the divider screen. Now wrap the roll cage tubes below the air intake vents with a 6” adhesive hook strip on both sides of the frame. Attach the double-sided Velcro straps at the bottom of the enclosure to the hook strips wrapped around both sides of the bottom
    of the frame.

  7. Now zip the side doors onto the enclosure one at a time starting with the front/top main zipper. Next zip down the side of the rear window. There are three double-sided Velcro straps on the inside of the doors  that attach to the frame; mark their positions on the frame and wrap the tubes with a 6” adhesive hookstrip at each location. Attach the double-sided Velcro strips on the enclosure to the hook strips on the frame. The only remaining adhesive Velcro strips should be the two 8”x1” pieces provided. At the rear of the door panels there are two 8” Velcro tabs sewn into the door panels. Apply adhesive hook strips to the bed of the vehicle at these locations, running vertically. Attach the Velcro tabs on the enclosure to the adhesive hook strips on the bed. See figs. 1 and 3.
    8. Mark the locations for the stud snaps on the front fenders, 4 per side. Install using a #2 Phillips
screwdriver and do not overtighten. Attach snaps on enclosure to snap studs on front fender. See fig. 3.FALCON-RIDGE-Mule-3010 -amp;-4010-Trans-Cab -amp

Cleaning and Storage Recommendations

  1. Before removing the cab for storage, make sure it is clean and dry, to prevent soiling the textile and scratching the clear vinyl side/rear windows. Clean with a soft rag or sponge using a mild liquid detergent soap and warm water solution. Let the cab dry thoroughly before attempting to roll for storage.
  2.  It is important that the cab be rolled up for storage rather than folding. Folding will cause undesirable creasing of both the cab textile and the clear vinyl side/rear windows. Carefully roll up the cab similar to the way it was when it was packed at the factory. On a large, clean, and flat surface, fold the doors over the rear panel first, then, interleave the top and windshield on top of the doors. Begin rolling the cab into a roll approximately 8” in diameter. Put the rolled cab back into the carton for storage at a normal room temperature. It is best not to expose the cab to either extreme hot or cold temperatures when storing.
  3.  A special cleaner/conditioner is available from Falcon Ridge that will greatly increase the service life of the cab enclosure. If needed, additional hook and loop sets are available, as well as other spare parts and hardware. Contact Falcon Ridge for information.
  4.  Transporting or trailering your UTV with the enclosure installed is not generally recommended. It is best to remove the enclosure before transporting your UTV.
