Cutting and sealing a bag

Press both side buttons to unlock the lid, then place the roll into the vacuum sealer. Pull out the roll to the desired bag length then slide the bag cutter across the roll to cut.
-
Place one open end of the bag into the vacuum chamber. Close and lock the lid firmly. There should be a clicking sound when properly locked.
-
Press the seal button to seal the bag.
-
Press both side buttons to unlock the lid. The bag is now ready to be used.
Notes:
- If sealing multiple bags, wait for 1 minute after each seal to allow the vacuum sealer to cool. Keep the lid open to allow for quick heat dissipation.
- If the bag melts, the vacuum sealer may be overheating. Wait for a couple minutes after the seal to allow the vacuum sealer to cool.
Dry and moist food modes
This vacuum sealer features two modes depending on the type of food sealed.
Dry food mode – Suitable for dry food (for example, uncooked rice,
grains, nuts).
Moist food mode – Suitable for foods that should retain their moisture
(for example, meats, seafood, fruits, vegetables).
Sealing food
- Place your food into the bag, then place the open end of the bag into the vacuum chamber. Do not block the nozzle.
Note:
Do not overfill the bag. Leave at least a 7.6cm clearance between the food and
the top of the bag.
-
Press the dry/moist food mode button to switch between the dry and moist food mode. The appropriate mode indicator should be illuminated according to the type of food in the bag.
-
Close and lock the lid firmly. There should be a clicking sound when properly locked.
Press the vacuum seal button then the mode indicator and indicator lights will illuminate. The appliance will begin removing air from the bag and start vacuum sealing.
-
When the indicators turn off, the vacuum sealing process is complete. Press both side buttons to unlock the lid and remove the sealed bag.
Notes:- If sealing multiple bags, wait for 1 minute after each seal to allow the vacuum sealer to cool.
-
If several indicators are flashing at the same time after continuous use, the overheating protection mechanism has activated. Wait for 5–10 minutes to allow the vacuum sealer to cool before resuming use.
Stop/pulse button
- When the vacuum sealer is operating, press the stop/pulse button to immediately stop operation.
- If the vacuum sealer is on standby and a bag is inside the vacuum chamber, press and hold the stop/pulse button to manually control the amount of air removed from the bag. Release the button when the desired amount of air has been removed. Press the seal button to seal the bag.
Accessory hose
This vacuum sealer is compatible with air-tight containers and bottles (not included) to keep food fresh and extend its shelf life.
-
Plug the small end of the accessory hose into the nozzle. Plug the other end into your airtight container/bottle.
-
Press the hose button and the vacuum sealer will begin to remove air. The vacuum sealer will automatically stop when the container/bottle reaches a particular negative pressure.
Unplug the accessory hose from the container/bottle and vacuum sealer.
Note:
Leave at least a 2.5cm clearance between the food at the top of the
container.
Tips
- Flatten the bag opening before placing it into the vacuum chamber.
- To prevent wrinkles in the seal when vacuum sealing large foods, gently stretch the bag flat before placing it into the vacuum chamber.
- Ensure the bag is dry before sealing. It will be difficult to make a tight seal if the bag is wet.
- For best results, freeze or refrigerate perishables after the vacuum sealing process.
- When vacuum sealing items with sharp edges (for example, dry spaghetti), protect the bag from punctures by wrapping them in soft cushioning material (for example, paper towel).
- Pre-freeze fruits and vegetables before vacuum sealing for best results.
- If unsure whether the bag was sealed properly, reseal the bag.
- Use bags sold by Kogan.com for best results.
- If heating in the microwave, ensure bags are punctured before heating.
