This document is the user manual and contains all the information for correct, efficient and safe use of the product.

This user manual is addressed to the end user. Read this information carefully before installing or using the product.

Intended use

This product is a heater that allows the user to control the surrounding temperature of indoor or outdoor areas.

This product is intended for indoor and outdoor use.

The product is intended for domestic use only.

This product is only suitable for well insulated spaces or occasional use.

This product can be used by children aged from 6 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.

This product is intended for use in household environments for typical housekeeping functions that may also be used by non-expert users for typical housekeeping functions, such as: shops, offices other similar working environments, farm houses, by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments and/or in bed and breakfast type environments.

This product is not suitable for primary heating purposes.

Any modification of the product may have consequences for safety, warranty and proper functioning.

WARNING

  • Ensure you have fully read and understood the instructions in this document before you install or use the product. Keep the packaging and this document for future reference.
  • Only use the product as described in this document.
  • Do not use the product if a part is damaged or defective. Replace a damaged or defective product immediately.
  • Do not drop the product and avoid bumping.
  • This product may only be serviced by a qualified technician for maintenance to reduce the risk of electric shock.
  • This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.
  • Close supervision is necessary when the product is used by or near children, animals or infirm persons.
  • This product is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms when occupied by persons not capable of leaving a room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
  • Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or swimming pool.
  • Do not immerse the product in water or other liquids.
  • Do not expose the product to water, rain, moisture or high humidity. Short circuits might occur.
  • Disconnect the product from the power source and other equipment if problems occur.
  • Do not install the product immediately above or below a power outlet.
  • Avoid the use of an extension cable, which could overheat and catch fire. If you have to use an extension cable, ensure it is suitable for the purpose, has been tested for outdoor use and preferably has an RCD device fitted or attached.
  • Do not use a timer or a separate remote-control system that switches on the product automatically.
  • If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Do not unplug the product by pulling on the cable. Always grasp the plug and pull.
  • Unplug the product from the power source and other equipment if problems occur.
  • Before cleaning and maintenance, switch off the product and disconnect the product from the power source.
  • Do not cover the power cable by e.g. carpets, rugs or furniture.
  • Ensure people do not trip over the cable.
  • Plug into a grounded outlet only.
  • Always use the voltage (A.C. Only) marked on the rating label.
  • Do not use the product near explosive or flammable materials.
  • Always unwind the power cable before using the product.
  • Do not let the power cable touch hot surfaces.
  • To avoid overheating, do not cover the product.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not dry any clothes or other objects with the product.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block the air vents.
  • Keep hair, fingers and all body parts away from the protective cover to prevent burns.
  • Always be aware of the ambient temperature when using the product. The product does not switch off automatically when the temperature is too high.
  • Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
  • Check if the wall can hold the weight of the product.
  • Always choose suitable mounting material for your wall with sufficient holding power. Contact your local hardware dealer for more information.
  • Mount on a dry, suitably strong, stable, flat and level surface.
  • Install the product with the heating element facing towards the ceiling. Aim the heating element towards the area you wish to heat. Position the product at least 1 m away from highly combustible materials such as furniture, trees, leaves, dry grass and bushes.
  • Make sure to mount the heater at least 180 cm from the floor, and at least 50 cm from the ceiling, roof or other coverings.
  • Make sure the product is installed properly. Contact qualified personnel when in doubt.
  • Incorrect installation can cause injury or damage to the product.
  • Unplug the product from the power source before service and when replacing parts.
  • Allow the product to cool down.
  • Only handle the product with dry hands. Handling with wet hands might cause an electric shock.
  • Do not move the product during operation.
  • Make sure the product is completely cool and unplugged from the power supply, before moving, cleaning or storing.
  • Do not touch the heating element with bare hands. If you touch the heating element, remove finger marks with a soft cloth and methylated spirits or alcohol, otherwise the marks will burn into the element causing premature heater failure.
  • Always keep button cell batteries, both full and empty, out of reach of children to avoid the chance of swallowing. Dispose of used batteries immediately and safely. Button cell batteries can cause serious internal chemical burns in as little as two hours when swallowed. Keep in mind that the first symptoms may look like child diseases like coughing or drooling. Seek immediate medical attention when you suspect that batteries have been swallowed.
  • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
  • Do not short-circuit a battery.
  • Make sure to match the (+) and (-) polarity markings.
  • For more detailed information about disposal of your old battery, check the local rules and regulations for the correct disposal instructions.
  • Do not remove any of the warning stickers or signs from the product.

To avoid overheating, do not cover the product. Keep a distance of at least 1 m from textiles, curtains, tent cloths and other flammable objects to reduce the risk of a fire.

Installation

  • Check that all parts are present and that no damage is visible on the parts. If parts are missing or damaged, contact the Nedis B.V. service desk via the website: www.nedis.com.

1. Use the wall mount bracket A4 to mark three holes on the wall where you want to install the product.

  • Follow steps 2-3 for stone/concrete surfaces. Continue to step 4 for wood surfaces.

2. Drill three 40mm x Ø8mm holes on the marked locations.

3. Insert the three wall plugs A14 into the holes.

4. Fasten A4 to the wall using the provided screws A13.

5. Fix the heater to the bracket using the provided bolts A6 and butterfly nuts A5.

6. Plug the power cable A12 into a power outlet.

  • Connect to a grounded outlet only.

Use

Switching on the product

1. Remove the plastic tab from the battery compartment of the remote control A8.

2. Press the power switch A11 to switch on the product.

  • The product is now in standby mode  (P0).
  • The power indicator LED A10 lights up red.

3. Press the on/off button B1 on the remote control A8.

  • The product is now in heating mode.
  • Select the preferred heat setting B45 on A8.
  • Select B2 to increase or decrease B3 the heat setting A9  (F1/F9).
  • The heat setting can be changed during use.
  •  Press the timer control button B6 to set the shut-off timer.
  • The timer can be set to a maximum of 24 hours.
Switching off the product

1. Press B1 to switch the product to standby mode.

  • Allow the product to cool down before switching off A11.

2. Press A11 to switch off the product.

Maintenance

  •  Make sure the product is completely cool and unplugged from the power supply, before moving, cleaning or storing.
  • Clean the product regularly with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Avoid abrasives that can damage the surface.
  • Do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, acid or acetone when cleaning the product.
  • Clean the reflector A2 and the heating element A1 at least once a month.
  • Wipe all parts thoroughly after cleaning.

Warranty

 Any changes and/or modifications to the product will void the warranty. We accept no liability for damage caused by improper use of the product.

This product is designed for private use (normal domestic use) only. Nedis is not responsible for wear, defect and/or damages caused by commercial use of the product.
