unpacking

  1. Remove all the packaging materials.
  2. Place the base of the appliance near a mains socket, on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface (Figure 1). Make sure that there is enough space for the air to circulate around the appliance, especially at the back where the air outlet is situated.
  3. Carefully wash the basket (5) and the pan (6) with a soft sponge and warm soapy water. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly using a towel.

Airfryer-4 Then, insert the assembly {basket + pan) on the base (3) (Figure 3).
NOTES:

  • There is a safety system to ensure that the pan is placed correctly on the base. If the pan is incorrectly positioned, the appliance will not work.
  • Do not put anything on top of the appliance, as this could block the flow of air and affect the result.

use

NOTE:
There may be a small amount of smoke and a slight odour when the appliance is used for the first time. This is completely normal and won’t last long.

Pre-heating

  1. Insert the plug into a wall socket.

  2. The display lights up and the program selection button flashes.
    NOTE:
    When the appliance is in “standby” mode, an “L” is displayed on the screen.

  3. Press the button to choose a program (refer to the table of programs opposite) and press the(start/pause/standby) button.

  4. Preheating begins. Allow the appliance to preheat for 3-5 minutes.

Table of programs

NOTES:

  • These settings are given as a rough guide. The pieces of food will not all be of the same size or shape.
  • When preparing large quantities of food (e.g. chips, prawns, chicken drumsticks), shake, stir or mix the ingredients in the basket 2 or 3 times during cooking for a consistent result.
  • Preheating is not available in all the programs.essentiel EAF1 B Oil-free Airfryer-5
    This program can be used to make fresh/homemade chips. However, this appliance is not a fryer,  so the cooking result will not be comparable to that of a traditional fryer.

Adding the ingredients

  1. When preheating is complete, the appliance will beep and the display shows “Add” (on certain programs only). Remove the pan + basket assembly, while holding it by the handle. IMPORTANT: This appliance works with hot air. Never fill the pan with oil or any other liquid.
    WARNING: The pan is very hot! Handle it with A, kitchen gloves. Do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the handle.

  2. Place the pan + basket assembly on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface, e.g. a table mat. To separate the basket from the pan, press the unlock button, after pushing the transparent tab forwards.

  3. Put the ingredients in the basket. Do not fill the basket to more than ¾ full to ensure consistent cooking and better heat circulation.

  4. Place the basket on the base. The display will show “On” and cooking will continue with the default time and temperature settings of the selected program (see table of programs).

NOTES:

  1. Never use the pan without the inner basket.
  2. WARNING! During cooking, the air outlet at the back of the appliance (9) gets very hot. Do not touch this surface and make sure nothing is obstructing it.
To change the temperature

To change the temperature, press the button. The temperature flashes for 5 seconds on the screen. You can change the temperature during this time, as long as the temperature is flashing on the screen. Use the(±) and E) buttons to increase or decrease the temperature in 5 C increments.
To change the cooking time
To change the cooking time, press the button again. The preset time flashes for 5 seconds on the screen. You can change the time as long as it is flashing on the screen.
Use the (±) and E) buttons to increase or decrease the cooking time in 1-minute increments.
NoTE:
If you press the button again, the screen displays the adjusted temperature. If you press the button again, the screen displays the adjusted time. After 1 O seconds, the appliance beeps to let you know that it is on standby and that the settings have been saved.

Cooking

Press the (start/pause/standby} button to start cooking.
Halfway through cooking, the appliance emits an audible signal to remind you to stir or turn the food over if you want.

Memory function

If you remove the basket during cooking, the display switches off. The appliance has a 10-minute “memory” function. If you remove the basket and put it back on the base within 10 minutes, cooking automatically resumes where it left off.

Cancelling a program that is running
To cancel a program that is in progress, press the@ (start/pause/standby) button for 3 seconds. The appliance beeps and the screen shows “L” to indicate that it is waiting for instructions. The@program selection button flashes. You can create new settings.
NOTES:

  • The program will not be cancelled if you unplug the appliance and plug it back in.
  • The ventilation system of the appliance continues to run for a few moments in order to cool down after a program has been cancelled.

When cooking is finished
When the cooking program is finished, the appliance beeps three times.
WARNING: The pan is very hot! Handle it with kitchen gloves. Do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the handle. Hot steam may escape:be careful not to burn yourself!
Remove the basket and place it on a heat-resistant surface, e.g. a table mat. Use heat­resistant cooking utensils to remove food from the basket.
At the end of use, disconnect the plug from the socket and let the appliance cool down.
NOTES:

  • At the end of the program, the ventilation of the appliance continues to run in order to cool it down
  • The excess oil or melted fat is collected at the bottom of the pan. Carefully empty the excess after each portion before shaking or replacing the basket in the pan.

cleaning and maintenance

  • Unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow the basket, pan and interior of the appliance to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Never immerse the appliance or power cord in water or any other liquid.
  • Be careful not to let water or other liquids get inside the appliance as this could cause an electric shock.
  • Discard any liquid that remains in the pan after cooking.
  • Clean the pan and cooking basket using a soft sponge with hot water and some washing-up liquid. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft towel. You can also place these two items in the dishwasher.
  • If the food residues stick to the pan and are difficult to remove, soak the pan in hot soapy water for 10 to 15 minutes. The residues will then easily come unstuck.
  • Do not use an abrasive scouring pad as this could damage the non-stick coating.
  • Wipe the outer surfaces of the appliance using a damp cloth.
