Instructions for Use
- This product is intended for domestic use only in a dry environment.
- Do not use this box in an excessively hot, dusty or damp place.
- Place the box in a central point within the home.
- Do not place the device in the vicinity of devices likely to cause electromagnetic interference, such as microwaves, mobile phones, refrigerators, etc.
- Do not expose the device to direct sunlight and keep it away from sources of heat such as radiators, heating appliances, ovens, etc.
- The mains plug must be installed near the equipment and must be easily accessible.
- Use only the accessories recommended for or supplied with the device.
- This device must not be used by children unless supervised.
Observe the restrictions related to the use of radio bands provided for by the standards in force in the country of use.
This symbol means that the device is to be used indoors only.
This symbol means that the device has reinforced insulation with no accessible metal parts. For class 2 devices, plugs do not have earthing prongs.

Switching on
Choose a central position in the home for optimal operation of your box
Essentiel b Connect by Enki.
Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is connected.
- Install the Enki Smart Home app on your smartphone and create your account.
- Connect the Box Essentiel b Connect by Enki to the mains and wait approximately 30 seconds for the left and right white LEDs to stop flashing and for the central LED to flash white.
- In the Enki Smart Home app:
• Access the “Mes Objets” (My Devices) menu.
• Click on the “+” button.
• Choose the brand Essentiel b.
• Select the Box Essentiel b Connect by Enki.
• Follow the installation steps.
The white LED confirms that your unit is operational.
Your box Essentiel b Connect by Enki can only be connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (connection is not possible with a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network).

CONNECTED BULB
This ENKI-compatible Essentiel b connected bulb gives you access to all the
advantages of modern LED lighting. With the dedicated Essentiel b smart
button, you can control your bulb from up to 10 metres away: turn on, turn
off, change the brightness or change from “warm” to “cold” white.
Connect your bulb to the Box Essentiel b Connect by Enki, to access multiple
connected lighting options via the ENKI app: mood setting, remote control,
occupancy simulation, etc.
GETTING STARTED
Install the Essentiel b bulb in the fixture of your choice.
Turn it to the ON position. The bulb is on and ready to pair 4 different ways.
With the dedicated Essentiel b smart button (without the Box Essentiel b
Connect):
- Pair the bulb according to the instructions in the dedicated Essentiel b smart button guide.
- Control your bulb by simply pressing the Essentiel b smart button.
With the smart button and the Box Essentiel b Connect by Enki:
- Make sure you have installed the Box Essentiel b Connect by Enki.
- Download and open the Enki app (available for Android or iOS).
- Add the Essentiel b bulb, following the application instructions.
- The button sends the command to the Box, which relays it to the bulb.
With the Box Essentiel b Connect by Enki (without the smart button):
- Make sure you have installed the Box Essentiel b Connect by Enki.
- Download and open the Enki app (available for Android or iOS).
- Add the Essentiel b bulb, following the application instructions.
- Control your bulb via the Enki app.
Without the smart button and the Box Essentiel b Connect by Enki:
- Download and open the Enki app (available for Android or iOS).
- Add the Essentiel b bulb, following the application instructions.
- Control your bulb via Bluetooth: pair it by following the steps in the ENKI app for adding a product.
Important : If the bulb is already paired with the dedicated Essentiel b smart button, and you subsequently decide to pair this bulb with the box or the Enki app, you will then have to reset the bulb.
In case of malfunction
- Delete the device from the Enki app.
- Turn your bulb on and off 6 times in a row using the light switch. Your bulb has returned to its original configuration.
- From the Enki app, re-pair the bulb (see “Getting Started”).
Resetting the bulb
- Turn your bulb on and off 6 times in a row using the light switch and wait 3 seconds.
- The bulb will flash twice to let you know that it is reset and ready to be paired.

Installation
There are two options to attach the mount to a wall. Option 1:

Screw through the holes (l) to attach the mount to a wall or any other hard surface that is at least 25 mm thick.

Unstick the 3M adhesive tape (m) and stick the mount to the wall or any other
hard surface.
NOTE : Do not install the mount outdoors or near metallic objects or
large mirrors which may interfere with the radio signal.
Use
Preparing the smart button
Remove the Mylar (e) underneath the battery cover (i) to activate the smart
button.
NOTE : The battery will run out over time and will need replacing before
it begins to leak as this would damage the smart button.
Pairing the smart button
NOTE : After removing the Mylar (e), press any button to switch off the
flashing indicator light (a) which indicates that the device is switched on.
The smart button can be connected in 2 different ways: Directly to an
Essential b bulb (TouchLink):
- Switch on the light and bring the smart button to within 10 cm of it.
- Press and hold for at least 3 seconds the [On/Off/Brightness/Colour Temperature] button (b) and [Reset] button (f). The indicator light (a) will flash once every second.
- The smart button will begin scanning for the light and the indicator light will flash rapidly until the smart button detects the light.
- The indicator light (a) will stay on for 3 seconds after pairing is successful.
With the Box Essentiel b Connect by Enki:
- Download and open the Enki app (available for Android or iOS).
- Make sure you have installed the Box Essentiel b Connect by Enki.
- Add the Essential b smart button following the application instructions.
- Then, use the Enki application to pair your smart button with one or more bulbs to control your lighting.
Step 1: Download the Enki SMART home application on the App Store or
Google Play.
Step 2: Create an account and log in.
Step 3: Press the “+” button and add the device.
Step 4: Follow the instructions on the application.
NOTE : When you pair another light with the smart button, the light that
was initially paired may also flash.
Press any button, then repeat the pairing process.
Using your light and your smart button
- Press the centre of the smart button once (On/Off/Brightness/ Colour temperature) to turn the light on or off.
- Press and hold to adjust the lighting brightness.
- Press twice to change the colour temperature.
Unpairing a light (if connected to TouchLink)
- Bring the smart button to within 10 cm of the light.
- Quickly press the reset button 5 times in a row(f). The indicator light (a) will flash once every second.
- The smart button will begin unpairing with the light and the indicator light will flash rapidly.
- The unpairing is successful when the indicator light flashes three times rapidly and then goes out.
NOTE : You can only unpair one light at a time. If you would like to unpair all the lights simultaneously and reset all the lights and the smart button, refer to the Default factory settings section.
Resetting default factory settings
Unscrew the battery cover (i) using a coin and press the reset button (f) for
3 seconds to reset the smart button’s default factory settings.
Replacing the battery
When the indicator light (a) flashes twice rapidly, this means that the
battery is low and must be replaced. Remove the battery cover (i) using a
coin.
Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the battery and replace it.
Install a new CR2032 battery (h).
Replace the battery cover (l) on the smart button and screw it back on using a
coin.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible cause | Solution |
---|
The smart button is not working and none of the indicator lights are switched on.| • The battery is flat.
• The battery is not installed correctly.
| Check that the CR2032 battery is correctly installed and that it is fully
functioning.
Lighting cannot be controlled by the smart button just after the direct
pairing process (TouchLink).| When you finish the direct pairing (TouchLink)
process, wait a few seconds for the devices to function.| Wait, then try
again.
The direct pairing process (TouchLink) was unsuccessful.| • The battery is
flat.
• The light has been paired with another smart button.
• The maximum number of directly connected bulbs (TouchLink) has been reached.
- A maximum of 15 bulbs can be directly connected (TouchLink) to a smart button.
| Check that the smart button is switched on. If it is, you may have reached the maximum number of directly connected bulbs (TouchLink).
Restart the smart button and the light and try again.
NOTE: After restarting the smart button, the direct pairing process (TouchLink) must be done again.

devices are not responding to commands.| Retry the unpairing process.
