Defective pixels

The liquid crystal screen (LCD) is a high-tech product that contains about a million transistors offering a high quality image. Occasionally, a few blue, green, red dots (corresponding to inactive sub-pixels) may appear on the screen. This does not affect the performance of your product.

  • European Standard EN 9241-307 class II Due to the very large number of transistors and the extremely complex manufacturing processes associated with them, losses or problems with the addressing of individual pixels or sub-pixels can occur in places.
Standard EN 9241-307 provides a definition of the characteristics relating to pixel errors. These are listed in four classes and three types of errors. Each pixel in turn breaks down into three sub-pixels corresponding to the basic colours (red, green, blue).
