Before using for the first time

  • Remove the appliance from the packaging, taking care to remove the packing materials.
  • Wipe the hotplate with a soft sponge lightly moistened with hot soapy water.
  • Dry with a soft, clean cloth. Be careful not to let water get inside the unit.
  • Wash the spatula and ladle with a soft sponge and hot soapy water. Rinse with clean water and thoroughly dry using a soft cloth.
  • A slight odour and a little smoke might be given off the first time the appliance is used. This is normal and will quickly go away.
  • To limit this effect, heat your appliance for about ten minutes without food on it (air the room during this time), then let it cool completely.
Using the appliance

Start-up/Preheating

IMPORTANT

  • The accessible surfaces may be hot to the touch when the appliance is on.
  • Never touch the hotplates during use as you could burn yourself.
  1. Place the appliance on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
  2. Fully unwind the power cable. Plug one end into the appliance plug and the other end into an easily accessible power outlet.
  3. Set the on/off switch to the I (on) position to turn on the appliance. The indicator light comes on.
  4. Preheat the unit for about 10 minutes. Wait until the hotplate is warm before placing food on it. If necessary, pour a little oil onto the hotplate.
  5. When you have finished using the appliance, turn the on/off button and the temperature control button to the 0 (off) position and unplug the appliance from the mains power.
  6. Wait for the appliance to cool completely before cleaning it.

Using the hotplate

  • Use the ladle provided to spread the pancake dough into the 6 indented circles on the hotplate.
  • Use a wooden spatula or other heat-resistant plastic utensil to turn the pancakes over. Do not use metallic utensils on this appliance.
  • You may damage the appliance’s non-stick coating.
  • The hotplate can also be used to make fried eggs, pancakes, cook small pieces of meat or any other food to grill.
  • Never cover the hotplates with aluminium foil and or place dishes, plates, etc., on the cooking surfaces.
  • To preserve the non-stick coating on the hotplate, do not cut the food directly on the hot plate. Do not use metal utensils (forks, knives, etc.). with the appliance.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • When you have finished using the appliance, turn the on/off button and the temperature control button to the 0 (off) position and unplug the appliance from the mains power. LEAVE THE APPLIANCE COOL DOWN COMPLETELY BEFORE CLEANING.
  • Never clean the appliance with abrasive detergents or scouring sponges.
  • Never immerse the appliance or power cord in water or any other liquid.
  • You can wipe the hotplate with a soft sponge moistened with hot soapy water.
  • Dry with a soft, clean cloth. Be careful not to let water get inside the unit.
  • Wash the spatula and ladle with a soft sponge and hot soapy water. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly using a soft cloth. Do not leave the wooden utensils to soak.
  • Do not put any of the parts in the dishwasher.
