To help you make the most of your purchase

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE AND KEEP THEM SO YOU CAN CONSULT THEM LATER.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

No part of this appliance may be repaired or replaced by the user. Repairs and maintenance should be entrusted exclusively to qualified personnel. Any disassembly of the appliance will lead to the cancellation of the guarantee.

  • Do not use the appliance:
    » if a foreign body (object or liquid) has entered the appliance,
    » if the appliance has been damaged in any way whatsoever,
    » if it is not working properly,
    » if you have dropped it,
    » if it has fallen into water or has been exposed to rain.

  • Take it to an after-sales service centre where it will be inspected and repaired. Never attempt to disassemble or repair the appliance yourself.

  • Make sure that children cannot play with the appliance.

  • This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Any other use is excluded. Do not use this appliance outdoors. Only use the appliance as indicated in these operating instructions.

Installation of the appliance
  • Set the appliance up on a dry, flat and stable surface.
  • Do not install this appliance near heat sources such as radiators, hot air outlets, pans, or other appliances (including amplifiers) which produce heat.
  • Do not place sources of naked flames (a lit candle for example) on the appliance or near it.
  • Do not place the appliance in a place subject to vibrations.
  • Use this appliance in a location with a moderate temperature. This appliance must not be used in a tropical climate.
Warning about ventilation
  • This appliance must be located in a place or position where it is well ventilated. Always leave a ventilation space of 10 cm around the appliance. Make sure that the ventilation apertures are not obstructed by objects such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc. This appliance must never be built into a cabinet without sufficient ventilation.
  • Do not poke objects or points into the ventilation apertures.
Keep this appliance away from water
  • Do not allow any liquids to enter the appliance and do not place any object containing liquid (a vase, for example) on the appliance.
  • Avoid exposing this appliance to rain, humidity and splashes of water.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  • Do not use this appliance near water or any source of humidity, such as a bathtub, a wash basin, a kitchen sink, a swimming pool, in a damp basement or any other damp location.
Cleaning the appliance
  • Clean the outside of the appliance using a cloth slightly moistened with water and a mild detergent.
  • Do not use solvents such as alcohol, benzene or diluents: these products could damage the appliance’s casing.
BATTERY RECYCLING
  • Do not dispose of the batteries along with household waste. In order to protect the environment, dispose of the batteries in accordance with the regulations in force.
  • Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries, do not take batteries apart or throw them into a fire.
  • Do not expose them to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
  • Do not incinerate them.
  • Only use the type of battery specified in these instructions.

inserting the batteries

Insert 4 LRO3 1.5V batteries (not provided) in the battery compartment on the back of the alarm clock following the terminal indications (+) and (-) given in the compartment.

WARNING: Danger of explosion if the batteries are not replaced correctly!

  • Only use the type of battery specified in these instructions.
  • Replace the batteries if they are used or if there is a leak.
  • Remove the batteries in the event of prolonged non-use of the appliance.

use of the alarm clock

Setting the time
  1. After inserting the batteries, the screen displays 0:00. Now hold the SET button down for 3 seconds to access setting the clock. The number 0 flashes on the screen.
  2. Use the and buttons to set the hour, then press the SET button to confirm. The minute numbers flash.
  3. Use the and buttons to set the minutes, then press the SET button to confirm. 24 HR then flashes.
  4. Use the and buttons to select the time format (12 hour or 24 hour), then press the SET button to confirm. Now, you must set the date, beginning with the years.
  5. Use the and buttons to select the year then press the SET button to confirm. The numbers of the months flash.
  6. Use the and buttons to select the number of the month (from 1 to 12) then press the SET button to confirm. The numbers of the days flash.
  7. Use the and buttons to set the calendar day then press the SET button to confirm. 05 then flashes. This number refers to the duration of the snooze function. Select a length of time with the and buttons (from 5 to 60 minutes).
  8. Press the SET button one last time to confirm.

To cancel the time setting, do not touch any button on your alarm clock for 3 seconds.

Setting the two alarms
  1. Press and hold the button to access setting of the alarm . The hour numbers flash on the screen.
  2. Use the and buttons to set the time, then press the button to confirm. The minute numbers flash.
  3. Use the and buttons to set the minutes, then press the button to confirm. The word HI flashes on the screen.
  4. Use the and buttons to set the volume of the alarm ( LO or HI ), then press the button to confirm.
  5. Now, you must choose the alarm frequency, still using the and buttons: every day of the week ( 1-7 ), once only ( 1-1 ), the first five days of the week ( 1-5 ) or the week-end ( 6-7 ).
  6. Press the button to confirm. You can now set the alarm , by following steps 1 to 5. If you don’t wish to set the second alarm, press the SET button straightaway.
Activating or deactivating the two alarms.

1 . Press the button once to activate the alarm , the button twice to activate the alarm , the button three times to activate the alarms and .
2. To deactivate the two alarms, press the button four times.

Turning off the alarm

When the programmed time is reached, the alarm sounds for 2 minutes and the icons or flash on the screen. Press the button once to stop the alarm. If you have selected every day of the week ( 1-7 ), the first five days of the week ( 1-5 ) or the week-end ( 6-7 ), the icons or remain displayed and the alarm remains active for the following day.

Activating the snooze function

When the alarm sounds, press the button once. The alarm turns off, then rings again after the period of time determined during step 8 of setting the time (from 5 to 60 minutes). The icons or flash on the screen.

Activating the screen illumination

Press the button briefly to activate the screen lighting. This turns off automatically after 4 seconds.

Reduce screen brightness during the night

In order to save on battery life, you can reduce the light intensity while you’re sleeping.

  1. For this, hold the button down for 3 seconds. The word OFF flashes.
  2. Use the and buttons to activate ( ON ) or deactivate ( OFF ) this function, then press the button.
  3. Use the and buttons to set the time for reduction of light intensity, then press the button.
  4. Now use the and buttons to select the length of this reduction (5 hours, 6 hours or 7 hours).
  5. Press the button one last time to confirm. The sign is displayed on the screen, signifying that the setting is memorised.
  6. To cancel this function, hold the button down for 3 seconds and select OFF. The sign disappears.

No power| Check that the batteries are properly inserted, and that the terminals have been matched.

Carry out a cross test with new batteries.

The display is faulty.| Remove the batteries and wait 1 minute before repla- cing them.
The screen is illegible, or the alarm is inaudible.| This means that the batteries must be replaced. For this, remove the used batteries and replace them with new ones of the same type, matching the terminals.
