SAFETY & WARNINGS
- Read all instructions carefully before using the product and retain this guide for future reference.
- The sensing area of this product should not be obstructed or covered by objects.
- When installed, this product should be kept away from direct sunlight and other sources of heat.
- Do not use this product in humid environments.
- This product is not a toy. Ensure it is kept out of reach of children.
- When charging the product, ensure the voltage of the charger conforms to the charging voltage of the product (5V 1A). If a charger with improper voltage is used to charge the product, it may damage the product and cause a potential safety hazard.
- When cleaning the product, wipe it with soft cotton cloth. Do not use any liquid, spray cleaners or wet clothes when cleaning.
- Do not disassemble, attempt to repair or modify this product in any way.

INSTALLATION
Magnetic Mount
For best results, we recommend that the installation height be greater than
0.4m and less than 1.2m. The product will still operate but the detection
range may be reduced if installed outside of this range.
Attaching the magnetic mount:
- Clean the surface and ensure it is thoroughly dry before proceeding.
- Remove the adhesive backing from the magnetic mount.
- Adhere the magnetic mount to the cleaned surface and hold it firmly in place for at least 20 seconds.
Installing the light:
Attach the night light to the magnetic mount, ensuring the magnet is correctly
aligned with the magnetic mount.
Notes:
The chosen location must be flat and smooth to ensure a strong bond.
Hanging Mount
- Attach the hanging mount to the mounting hole on the side of the night light.
- The night light can now be safely mounted in a variety of locations: door handles, clothes hangers, hooks etc.
CONNECT TO SMARTERHOME™ APP
Install App
Download the “Kogan SmarterHome” app from the Play Store (Android) or App
Store (iOS).
Register
If you do not have a Kogan SmarterHome™ account, register or sign in with a
verification code sent by SMS.
To Register
- Tap to enter registration page.
- The system automatically recognises your country/area. You can also select your country code manually. Enter your email address and tap ‘Next.’
- Alternatively, you can select ‘Register by mobile number’ and enter the verification code sent to you by SMS.
- Create a profile on the next page to define your location and room.
Notes:
Before connecting the device, please enable Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
Set Device in Pairing Mode
- Connect the night light to a power supply using the supplied USB cable.
- Slide the switch to the “MESH” position, the night lamp should now be in pairing mode.
Bluetooth Connection
This method has a limited range and once the device is outside of the
smartphone’s Bluetooth range, the device will lose its connection and appear
offline.

Ensure that the device is in pairing mode (switch in “Mesh” position).

Open the “Kogan SmarterHome” app.

Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your smart phone.

Tap “+” in the upper right corner of the app’s home page to add a new device through the network.

The app will automatically detect the device, tap “Go to add”.

The device will commence the pairing process. Ensure your phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept close until connection is complete.

During connection, the “ ”flashes continuously in the pop-up window. Please click “Done” after you have successfully paired the device.
Note: If the networking of the device needs to be reset, please continuously slide the switch between the “OFF” and “MESH” positions three times. (OFF MESHOFF-MESH-OFF-MESH), with an interval of approximately 2 seconds.
Connect the Device Through Gateway

Ensure that the device is in pairing mode.

Connect your smart phone to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

Open the “Kogan SmarterHome” app.

Select “Bluetooth Gateway” from the list of connected devices.

Tap “search new device” in the bottom right corner of the app to search for any sub-devices.

Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your smart phone. If not, you will be prompted to turn it on.

Confirm that the sub-device is in pairing mode then tap “Lights is in a flash” to begin pairing to the gateway.

The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the gateway and app. Ensure your Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept close until connection is complete.

After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the device and assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the app’s home page. Tap the device listing to enter its control page.
Adding a Connected Device to Gateway
- Ensure that the device is in pairing mode.
- Connect your smart phone to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your smart phone. If not, you will be prompted to turn it on.
- Open the “Kogan SmarterHome” app.
- Select “Bluetooth Gateway” from the list of connected devices.
- Tap “add device from list” in the bottom left corner of the app to search for any subdevices.
- Select the device(s) from the list you wish to add to the gateway then tap “confirm”.
OPERATION
Power On/Off
To quickly turn the night light on or off, tap the power icon to the right of
the device name.
Settings
Click “ ” in the upper right corner to view the device information, share the
device and remove device etc.
Schedule
- Tap on the “Schedule” tab at the bottom right of the screen.
- Tap on the “Add Schedule” button.
- Choose a start time (on) or end time (off).
- To setup a repeat on certain days of the week, tap “Repeat” or the schedule will only occur once.
White Adjustment
- Tap on the “White” tab at the top of the screen to enter the white control menu.
- Slide the horizontal bar left or right to set the desired brightness level.
ColourAdjustment
- Tap on the “Colour” tab at the top of the screen.
- Tap on any part of the colour picker to select a desired colour.
- Slide the horizontal bars left or right to adjust the colour saturation and brightness.
Scene
- Tap on the “Scene” tab at the top of the screen.
- Tap on any of the scene icons to select the desired scene.
Button Functions
Slide the switch to the auto position, the night lamp will automatically turn on when the environment becomes dark and the sensor detects movement.
Slide the switch to the mesh position to place the night light in network mode to be used with the “Kogan SmarterHome” app.
Slide the switch to the off position to turn the night light off.
Auto Sensing Mode
When used in “auto” mode, if movement is detected within the sensor’s range
the night light will be turned on.
The sensing range is a 120-degree fan area which is spread out from the centre area of the front of the night lamp, 5-7 meters in front and 2-3 meters on the side.
Note: The sensor’s effectiveness may be affected during the daytime or
under strong lights.
Charging
- Connect the supplied USB cable to the charging input on the side of the night light.
- Connect the USB cable to a 5V USB power adaptor (mobile phone charger).
- The night light should be fully charged in approximately 2.5-3 hours.
- The colour and condition of the indicator will display the current status of the battery.
- Low power: Flashing BLUE

- Fully charged: Light off
