INTRODUCTION
This spot sprayer is ideal for agricultural, pest control and gardening applications. It delivers 29 to 45 PSI with an adjustable fine mist to jet stream nozzle, and it includes a shoulder strap, 14 in. wand and 51 in. hose.

SAFETY

WARNING! Read and understand all instructions before using this tool. The operator must follow basic precautions to reduc e the risk of personal injury and/or damage to the equipment.
Keep this manual for safety warnings, precautions, operating or inspection and maintenance instructions.

WORKAREA

  1. Operate in a safe work environment. Keep your work area clean, well- lit and free of distractions. Place lights so you are not working in a shadow.
  2. Keep anyone not wearing the appropriate safety equipment away from the work area.
  3. Store tools properly in a safe and dry location. Keep tools out of the reach of children.

PERSONAL SAFETY
WARNING! Wear personal protective equipment approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

  1. Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and side protection for the eyes. Eye protection equipment should comply with CSA Z94.3-07 or ANSI Z87.1 standards based on the type of work performed.
  2. Wear the appropriate type of full-face shield in addition to safety googles, as the work can create molten, acid or chemical splashes.
  3. Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work materials or to reduce the effects of tool vibration.
  4. Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and tool.
  5. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing and balance in the work environment.
  6. Wear a NIOSH approved respirator when working on materials that produce hazardous fumes, dust or particulate matter.

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid personal injury or damage to the tool.

  1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications.
  2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become entangled with the moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair covered or bound.
  3. Do not overreach when operating the tool. Proper footing and balance enables better control in unexpected situations.

SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

WARNING! DO NOT let comfort or familiarity with product (gained from repeated use) replace strict adherence to the tool safety rules. If you use this tool unsafely or incorrectly, you can suffer serious personal injury.

  1. Use the correct tool for the job. This tool was designed for a specific function. Do not modify or alter this tool or use it for an unintended purpose.
  2. Do not spray on windy days.
  3. Protective clothing must be worn when spraying hazardous chemicals.
  4. Ensure that the correct chemical concentrations are in place before spraying.
  5. Flush out the system after each use.
  6. Observe the warnings on the packaging of any chemicals used for spraying. Chemicals are hazardous to your health. Wear proper breathing equipment and clothing when handling and spraying.
  7. Do not spray people or animals.
  8. Never fill the sprayer with hot liquids.
  9. This sprayer is made to be used with agrichemicals. Do not use with flammable, corrosive or caustic solutions.
  10. Wear proper hand and eye protection when searching for a high- pressure leak. Use wood or cardboard as a backstop instead of hands.
  11. Do not place hands or fingers in front of the nozzle.
  12. In the event of high-pressure spray penetrating the skin, seek medical attention immediately.

UNPACKING
WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing. Replace the missing part before operating. Failure to do so could result in a malfunction and personal injury.
Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect for damage.
Make sure that all items in the contents are included.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION

Dashed numbers in parenthesis (Fig. 1-1) refer to a specific point in an illustration or image.

  1. Unscrew the wand nut (Fig. 1-1) from the wand handle (Fig. 1-3).
  2. Push the wand (Fig. 1-2) through the nut and into the handle.
  3. Slide the nut down onto the handle and screw back in firmly.

OPERATION

NOTICE! Test the sprayer with water before using it with chemicals to ensure that it is working properly.
FILLING THE TANK

  1. Rotate the handle (Fig. 2-1) of the pump counterclockwise until you can lift the pump away from the tank.
  2. Fill the tank with the desired liquid until its level reaches the gallon marker. Do not overfill.
  3. Ensure that the pump is free from debris and reinstall to the tank. Rotate the pump handle clockwise to secure.

PRESSURIZING AND SPRAYING

  1. Rotate the pump handle until it unlocks from the tank.

  2. Pull the handle up and pump until you feel a resistance (Fig. 3).POWER-FIST-2-Gallon-Spot-Sprayer-3

  3. Push the pump handle down and rotate to lock.

  4. Squeeze the thumb lever (Fig. 4-1) on the switch control to begin spraying. Release the lever to stop.
    a. To lock the switch control and enable continuous spraying, squeeze and slide the thumb lever forward.
    b. To release the lock, squeeze and slide the lever backward.

  5. Repeat steps 1 to 3 as needed to maintain pressure.

ADJUSTING THE NOZZLE

  1. Rotate the nozzle cap (Fig. 5-1) counterclockwise for a wider but shorter spray range (fine mist).
  2. Rotate the nozzle cap clockwise for a narrower but longer spray range (jet stream).

RELEASING PRESSURE FROM THE TANK
CAUTION! Do not loosen the pump or the hose cap until the air from the tank is completely exhausted to avoid chemical splashes.

  1. Pull the relief valve (Fig. 6-1) up until you hear the sound of air escaping.
  2. Hold the valve in place until air is completely exhausted. Release the valve.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

  1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to control and will have fewer problems.
  2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or worn components. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.
  3. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
  4. Only use accessories intended for use with this tool.
  5. Keep the tool clean, dry and free from oil/grease at all times.
  6. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.

WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the tool. An improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.

CLEANING
Clean the sprayer after each use to extend its life.

  1. Rinse exterior surfaces thoroughly with mild soap and water.
  2. Flush out and rinse the hose and flow control with water.
  3. Fill the tank with water and pump the handle. Pour the water out and repeat as needed.

LUBRICATION
Inspect and lubricate the tool when required. Only use light oil to lubricate the tool. Other lubricants may not be suitable and could damage the tool or cause a malfunction during use.
Apply a thin coat of lubricant to the O-ring in the nozzle. Add 10 to 12 drops of light oil to the pump rod after 15 to 60 days of continuous usage or when not in use.

NOTICE! NEVER use a penetrating oil to lubricate the tool. Penetrating oil may act as a solvent that will break down the grease and cause the tool to seize up.

DISPOSAL
Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility. Contact your local municipality for a list of disposal facilities or by-laws for electronic devices, batteries, oil or other toxic liquids.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualified technician service the tool.
