Product Information

- Care & Maintenance: Keep the tool clean and well-maintained. Follow the instructions provided in the manual for lubrication. NEVER use a penetrating oil to lubricate the tool. Penetrating oil may act as a solvent that can break down the grease and cause the tool to seize up.
- Disposal: DO NOT pollute the environment by allowing the uncontrolled discharge of waste oil. Dispose of waste oil properly.

INTRODUCTION
This convenient form bender creates up to 90° bends in mild steel. aluminum. ornamental iron and other metals. It iS made from durable carbon steel. mounts easily to work benches and iS ideal for hobbyists, artists and other non- production applications.
SAFETY

operator must follow basic precautions to reduce the risk of personal injury
and/or damage to the equipment.
Keep this manual for safety warnings, precautions, operating or inspection and
maintenance instructions.
WORKAREA
- Operate in a safe work environment. Keep your work area clean, well-lit and free of distractions. Place lights so you are not working in a shadow.
- Keep anyone not wearing the appropriate safety equipment away from the work area.
- Store unused tools properly in a safe and dry location to prevent rust or damage. Lock tools away and keep out of the reach of children.
- Children should not be allowed in the work area or to handle machines, tools or accessories.
- Do not operate in damp or wet locations. Do not expose to rain or inclement weather.
PERSONAL SAFETY
WARNING! Wear personal protective equipment approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
- Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and side protection for the eyes. Eye protection equipment should comply with CSA Z94.3-07 or ANSI Z87.1 standards based on the type of work performed.
- Wear the appropriate type of full-face shield in addition to safety googles, as the work can create chips, abrasive or particulate matter.
- Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work materials or to reduce the effects of tool vibration.
- Do not wear gloves when operating a tool that can snag the material and pull the hand into the tool.
- Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and tool.
- Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing and balance in the work environment.
- Wear steel-toe footwear or steel-toe caps to prevent a foot injury from falling objects.
- Wear hearing protection gear with an appropriate Noise Reduction Rating to withstand the decibel levels.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Control the tool. personal movement and the work environment to avoid personal
injury or damage to tool.
- Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications.
- Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become entangled with the moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair covered or bound.
- Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and balance enables better control in unexpected situations.
- Ensure the tool is properly bolted to a stable workbench or surface.
- Securely hold this tool using both hands. Using a tool with only one hand can result in loss of control.

- Do not use the tool if any if parts are damaged broken or misplaced. Repair or replace the parts.
- Do not force this tool. It will perform better and more safely at the rate for which it was intended. Do not use inappropriate attachments in an attempt to exceed tool’s capacity.
- Use caution around freshly cut or bent workpieces as there may be sharp edges or shards of metal.
UNPACKING
WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing. Replace the
missing part before operating. Failure to do so could result in a malfunction
and personal injury.
- Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect for damage.
- Make sure that all items in the parts list are included.
ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
- Numbered references in parenthesis (#1) refer to the included Parts List.
- Dashed numbers in parenthesis (Fig. 1-1) refer to a specific point in an illustration or image.
GENERAL ASSEMBLY
- Bolt the tool to a stable workbench or work surface.
- Screw the handle (#8) onto the lead screw (#7) and then secure by screwing an M20 nut (#26) onto the end of the lead screw (Fig. 1).
- Place the pressing die (#2) between the upper plate (#3) and the lower plate (#4) (Fig. 2).
WORKPIECE STOP
The workpiece stop (#10) may be assembled on either side of the form bender unit. These instructions and illustrate one side only.
- Place the M8 lock nut (#21) on the on the rod #11) and tighten to the end of the threads (Fig. 3).
- Secure the rod to the form bender unit and tighten the lock nut.
- Assemble the M6 x 10 screw (#12) to the workpiece stop then slide the workpiece stop assembly onto the rod in the desired position and tighten the nut (Fig. 3).
OPERATION
- Place the workpiece between the pressing die (#2) and the bending die (#1) (Fig. 4).
- If multiple bends at equal length are required, assemble and adjust the workpiece stop to the desired position (see above instructions).
- Hold the workpiece in place and tighten the pressing die by turning the handle clockwise (Fig. 5).
- Once the pressing die pressure is enough to hold the workpiece in place, release the workpiece.
- Continue pressing until the desired bend has been achieved.
- For precise results, use the scale (#13) located on top of the tool.
- Once the desired bend has been achieved. release the workpiece by turning the handle counterclockwise and pushing the lead screw in (Fig. 6).
CARE & MAINTENANCE
- A Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to control and will have fewer problems.
- Inspect the tool components periodically. This includes checking the alignment and binding of moving parts, mounting fixtures and all other parts and components. Repair or replace damaged or worn components before any operation.
- Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
- Only use accessories or replacement parts that are intended for use with this tool.
- Keep the tool clean, dry and free from oil/grease at all times.
- Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates.
These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.
WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the tool. An improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.
LUBRICATION
- Turn the handle clockwise and fully extend the lead screw (Fig. 7).
- Place five drops of oil along the length of the lead assembly screw (Fig. 8-1) and tighten and loosen until oil fully coats the part.
- Turn handle counterclockwise to return tool to its original position and then place two drops of oil on the hinge between the upper plate and body (Fig. 9- 1).
NOTICE! NEVER use a penetrating oil to lubricate the tool. Penetrating oil may act as a solvent that can break down the grease and cause the tool to seize up.
DISPOSAL
Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility. Contact your
local municipality for a list of disposal facilities or by-laws for electronic
devices. batteries, oil or other toxic liquids.
IMPORTANT! DO NOT pollute the environment by allowing uncontrolled
discharge of waste oil.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, a have a qualified technician service the tool.
