Apex Sim Racing Dashboard - USBGrounding Wires – (only needed if you experience button press issues)
On some occasions you may need to ground the dash panel to your wheel base due to EMI. These wires connect to the rear of the dash and attatch between the rear of the dash panel and the front of the wheel base.
Step 1 Plug into the JST connectors on the PCB (the plug will only fit one way so if you need to force it then the connector is not being plugged the correct way)
Step 2 – Strip about 1 inch from the wire so that you can take the bare wire and wrap it around the bolts used to mount the dash to the wheel base
Step 3 – Place the bolt through the dash. On the rear of the dash, wrap the wire around the bolt and then thread the bolt into the wheel base (you want the ground wire sandwiched between the rear of the dash and the front of the wheel base)

Trouble Shooting

My Dash isn’t showing up in Windows.
Solution – Restart PC

  • If using a USB hub or USB extension, bypass and plug directly into PC.
  • Try a different USB Port on PC.
  • Try a different USB Cable.
  • Advanced Users – Check in Device Manager to see if it’s being recognized by Windows. Device should show up as

ApexSimRacing_(Name of dashboard). Locate device, uninstall it and restart PC.
My Dash doesn’t show all of the inputs working in
Windows game pad tester.

  • Some of our dashboards have over 32 inputs and Windows game pad tester only can see a maximum of 32 inputs.

Solution – Use a different input tester or test in sim.
I’m having weird presses/ghost presses with buttons, switches or toggles.
If using a USB hub or USB extension cable, bypass it and plug directly into PC to see if that solves the is sues.
Check for sources of EMI (typically DD wheel bases). To test, turn off wheel base to see if you are still experiencing issues with ghost presses.
