Safety instructions
The user manual is part of the product and contains important information for correct use.
- Read the user manual completely and carefully be-fore use.
- The user manual must be available for uncertainties and passing the product.
- Keep this user manual.
Risk of life by electric shock!
Working on the electrical mains and improper installation can result in
serious injury or death.
- Installation, disassembly, maintenance and repair work must be carried out only by trained electrical specialists.
- Before working on the product or on electrical mains, disconnect the product from the power supply, switch off the fuse and secure the fuse against being switched on again.
- Observe the enclosed VDE installation notes.
- In commercial facilities, always observe the accident prevention regulations of the German Employer‘s Liability Insurance Association for electrical systems and equipment.
- Only put the product into operation when all components have been properly installed and checked for functionality.
- Do not open the housing.
- Do not modify product and accessories.
- Do not short-circuit connectors and circuits.
- Do not overload the product.
- Observe the maximum permissible power.
Due to the reactive power that often occurs with LED lamps, always choose transformers with an approx. 40-50 % stronger power.
- Only use the product with LED lamps.
- Do not connect a dimmer to the product.
- The product can be damaged by a dimmer.
- Also observe the safety and operating instructions of the other devices that are to be connected to this product.
Heat storage
- Ensure that the air supply is not obstructed and that the product is not covered at any time.
- Keep a minimum distance of 50 mm in all directions around the transformer (See Fig. 3).
- Do not operate a device if it is not in working order. In such cases, it must be secured against unintentional further use.
- Use product, product parts and accessories only in perfect condition.
- Avoid stresses such as heat and cold, moisture and direct sunlight, microwaves, vibrations and mechanical pressure.
- In case of questions, defects, mechanical damage, trouble and other problems, non-recoverable by the documentation, contact your dealer or producer.
- Not meant for children. The product is not a toy!
- Secure packaging, small parts and insulation against accidental use.
- Keep the product away from animals.
Description and function
-
Product
The product is a voltage transformer that converts mains voltage into low voltage and is used as a direct current source for LEDs. The transformer is primarily suitable for series circuits due to the constant output current. The flat design enables space-saving installation and thanks to the integrated protection electronics, the transformer is also approved for installation in furniture. -
Scope of delivery

See Fig. 1. -
Primary side with cover (mains connection) 2 Secondary side with cover (connection for LED lighting)
-
Terminal blocks
-
Mounting slots
Intended use
- We do not permit using the device in other ways like described in chapter „Description and Function“ or in the „Safety Instructions“.
- Use the product only in dry interior rooms. Never use the product in rooms where there are flammable gases or vapours. Not attending to these regulations and sa-fety instructions might cause fatal accidents, injuries, and damages to persons and property.
- IP20 : This product is protected against medium sized foreign objects, but not against water ingress.
Preparation
- Check the scope of delivery for completeness and integrity.
- Compare the specifications of all used devices and ensure compatibility.
Installation
NOTICE! Material damage
- Always connect the secondary circuit first before connecting the primary circuit.
- Assign the N/L and plus and minus terminal blocks as marked on the product.
- The cable on the secondary side to the LED lighting should not be longer than 2 m to comply with the EMC directive.
- Do not exceed the loads specified in the „Specifications“ section.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 50 mm in all directions around the transformer (See Fig. 3).
See Fig. 2
-
Check whether the fuse is switched off and secured against being switched on again and check with a voltage tester whether the cables to be wired are really voltage-free.
-
Unscrew the covers of the primary and secondary sides with a Phillips screwdriver and put the covers and screws aside.
-
Prepare the connecting cables for connection to the terminal blocks by removing approx. 6 mm of the insulation from the cable ends.
-
Connect your LEDs in correct polarity to the terminal blocks in the secondary circuit (SEC).
To calculate the total power (P in watts) of your lamp combination, multiply the current consumption of the lamp (I in amperes) by its voltage (U in volts). P=U*I applies here. In parallel circuits, the voltage (U) remains constant. In series circuits, the current (I) remains constant. -
When all consumers are correctly connected on the secondary side, connect the primary side (PRI) to the mains via the terminal blocks N and L.
-
Check the function of all installed components before operating the LED transformer.
-
Replace the covers and screw them tight.
-
Secure the LED transformer using screws at the mounting slots.
Observe the minimum distance of 50 mm in all directions.
Response to faults
In the event of faults such as overload, overtemperature or short circuit, an internal safety mechanism is triggered and the power supply to the secondary circuit is interrupted. After the cause of the fault has been eliminated, the LED transformer continues to operate normally.
Maintenance, Care, Storage and Transportation
The product is maintenance-free.
NOTICE! Material damage
- Only clean the product when it is disconnected from the power supply.
- Only use a dry and soft cloth for cleaning.
- Do not use detergents or chemicals.
- When not in use for a long time, store the product out of reach of children and animals and in a dry and dust-protected environment.
- Store cool and dry.
- Do not store the product near easily inflammable objects.
- Keep and use the original packaging for transport.
Disposal instructions
- According to the European WEEE directive, electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed with consumers waste. Its components must be recycled or disposed apart from each other. Otherwise contaminative and hazardous substances can damage the health and pollute the environment.
- As a consumer, you are committed by law to dispose electrical and electronic devices to the producer, the dealer, or public collecting points at the end of the devices lifetime for free. Particulars are regulated in national right. The symbol on the product, in the user manual, or at the packaging alludes to these terms. With this kind of waste separation, application, and waste disposal of used devices you achieve an important share to environmental protection.
