Product Usage Instructions

  • Console and Reset Interface
    • The CONSOLE ETH1 port is used for expert configuration and maintenance.
    • The RESET button can be used for device restart or configuration reset.
    • Press the button for up to 5 seconds for a device to restart, or hold it until the LEDs start flashing for a configuration reset.
  • USB Interfaces
    • Connect a USB storage medium or a USB printer to the USB 3.0 interfaces for data transfer or printing functionalities.
  • TP Ethernet Interfaces
    • Connect the ETH1 – ETH6 TP Ethernet interfaces to additional network components using suitable Ethernet cables for data transmission.
  • SFP+ Interfaces
    • Insert LANCOM SFP modules into the ETH7 – ETH8 SFP+ interfaces. Use compatible cables with the SFP modules as per the mounting instructions provided. Ensure the SFP modules and cables are not included in the package.
  • Power Supply and Switch
    • Supply power to the device via the rear connection socket using the provided power cord. After connecting the power, set the power switch to the ‘I’ position to turn on the device.

  • Q: What do the different LED statuses indicate?
    • Status LED:
    • Green, permanently: Device operational, paired with LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC)
    • Green/red, blinking: Charge or time limit reached
    • Red, blinking: Pairing error or LMC activation code not available
    • 1x/2x/3x green, inverse blinking: Communication errors with LMC
    • ETH1 – ETH6 LED:
    • Both LEDs off: No networking device attached
    • Green, permanently: Connection to network device operational
    • Green, flickering: Data transmission ongoing
    • Orange off: No data traffic
    • Orange, permanently: Data transmission at 100 Mbps
    • Green, permanently: Data transmission at 1000 Mbps
    • ETH7 – ETH8 LED:
    • Off: No link detected
    • Green, permanently: Link detected, no port activity
    • Green, blinking: Link detected with port activity
    • Off: No link detected
    • Green, permanently: Link speed at 10 Gbps

  1. Serial configuration interface RJ45 (CONSOLE)

    • Maintenance interface for expert configuration.
    • Not necessary for initial commissioning.
  2. USB 3.0 interfaces

    • Connect a USB storage medium or a USB printer to the USB interfaces.
  3. RESET button

    • Pressed up to 5 seconds: device restart
    • Pressed until first flashing up of all LEDs: configuration reset and device restart
  4. TP Ethernet interfaces ETH1 – ETH6

    • Connect the ETH1 – ETH6 TP Ethernet interfaces to additional network components using suitable Ethernet cables.
  5. SFP+ interfaces ETH7 – ETH8

    • Insert suitable LANCOM SFP modules into the SFP+ interfaces. Choose cables compatible with the SFP modules and connect them as described in the SFP module’s mounting instructions www.lancom-systems.com/SFP-module-MI (SFP modules and cables are not included).

  6. Connection socket for power supply

    • Supply the device with power via the main connection on the rear of the device. Use only the supplied power cord for this purpose.
  7. Power switch

    • After supplying power to the unit via the power connector on the rear panel, set the power switch to the ‘I’ position.

Installation Guide

  • Before initial startup, please make sure to take notice of the information regarding the intended use in the enclosed installation guide!
  • Operate the device only with a professionally installed power supply at a nearby power socket that is freely accessible at all times.
  • The power plug of the device must be freely accessible.
  • Please note that support service for third-party accessories is excluded.

Please observe the following when setting up the device

  • When setting up on the table, use the enclosed self-adhesive rubber pads, if applicable.
  • Do not rest any objects on top of the device and do not stack multiple devices.
  • Keep all ventilation slots of the device clear of obstruction.
  • Mount the device with the enclosed mounting material in a free 19” slot of an appropriate server rack.
  • The additional status LED statuses are displayed in a 5-second rotation if the device is configured to be managed by the LANCOM Management Cloud.
