- 2 – 10mm x 80mm Socket Head Bolt
TOOLS NEEDED:
- Jack
- Jack Stands
- 15mm Wrench
- Needle Nose Pliers
- 10mm Wrench
- 17mm Wrench
- 8mm Allen Wrench
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTONS
- Jack up the front of the vehicle and place on jack stands.
- Remove front wheels
- Use two 15mm wrenches to remove the pinch bolt holding the spindle to the ball joint. Retain hardware for reuse. See Photo 1.
- Use two 15mm wrenches to remove the factory lower control arm hardware. Retain hardware for reuse. See Photo 2.
- Remove upper control arm hardware connecting to the frame with two 15mm wrenches. Retain hardware for reuse. See Photo 3.
- With two 15mm wrenches, remove lower strut bolt and nut. Retain hardware for reuse. See Photo 4.
- Remove bolt that holds the brake line in place with a 10mm wrench.
- Remove lower control arm from vehicle. See Photo 5.
- Use needle nose pliers to remove cotter pin from the upper ball joint. Use a 17mm wrench to remove the castle nut. See Photo 6.
- Remove upper control arm and allow knuckle to droop. See Photo 7.
- Install the bushings, sl.eeves, and grease fittings in each control arm eyelet and ball joint.
- Install new lower control arm in reverse order of disassembly with factory hardware. See Photo 8.
- Install new upper control arm to the vehicle frame with factory hardware in reverse order of disassembly. See Photo 9.
- Reinstall the lower strut to the upper control arm with supplied 10mm x 80mm socket head bolt, washers, and lock nut. Tighten with 8mm Allen wrench. See Photo 10.
- Reinstall brake line clip to the new upper control arm with 8mm/10mm wrench. See Photo 11.
- Repeat steps for other side of vehicle.
- NOTE: Grease ball joints and control arm eyelets before use.
- Reinstall wheels and then lower vehicle to the ground.
