INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Ensure full access to the location where you are planning to install the flat cable, make sure there are no furniture or other objects that will obstruct the installation area.
- Starting with one end of the strip, using the scissors, cut down the middle from the end about 4″ so you have one strip that ends in two smaller strips with two conductors on each side. Image 1
- Get one of the smaller strips and measure about 2-1/2″ from the end and cut it from its edge to the middle so one of the smaller strips is shorter than the other one. Image 2
- Remove the adhesive paper (bottom layer) and start applying the flat wire to the surface where it is going to be installed. Image 3 and 4
- Once you have the strip installed you can proceed to install the terminals. Four terminal blocks are needed, two for each end.
- Starting with the shorter strip, open the terminal block and with the door half way opened, center the flat cable and insert thought the opening between the door and the bottom of the terminal block. There is a stopper inside the terminal block that will indicate how far the strip must be inserted (about 1/2″). IMPORTANT: Make sure the two conductors on the flat wire are touching the contacts inside the terminal block. Image 5 and 6
- Using a flat head screwdriver, unscrew both screws and connect your device’s wires to the terminal block, then tighten the screws. This terminal is compatible with up to 10AWG wires. Image 7
- Before closing the terminal block, you may choose to secure it to the surface using two screws (not supplied), then close the terminal door. Image 7 (circled) and 8
- Repeat these steps with the longer strip and then do the same on the other end of the 4 conductor strip.
- Now you can proceed to prime or paint the flat wire for maximum concealment. Image 9
