Turf Toe Taping

  1. Start on the inside of the big toe, angling down towards the underneath of the toe.
  2. Wrap the toe twice, pulling the tape downwards each time to restrict toe extension.
  3. Bring the tape over the top of the foot and wrap around the foot.
  4. Wrap the tape 1-2 more times around the foot, finishing on the top of the foot.

THUMB RESTRICTION

TEAR EAB 2.5CM
PURPOSE
Provides stability to your thumb, by preventing hyperextension.

  1. Start taping from the palm, aiming up between the palm and index finger. Bring the tape around the back of the thumb.

  2. Angle the tape down towards the wrist.

THUMB TAPING

TEAR EAB 2.5CM OR 5CM
PURPOSE
Protect Thumb from friction of the bar when lifting in hook grip.

  1. Starting at the base of thethumb, begin to wrap in an upwards direction.

  2. Wrap the thumb 2-3 times to cover the thumb.

  3. Rip away the tape, and press down firmly to secure.

  4. Press the tip of the thumb to check circulation. Normal colour should return in 1-2 seconds.

GET THIS RIGHT

  1. Clean and dry your fingers before application. Moisturisers and oils are a tapes’ worst nightmare.
  2. Never over-tighten. Check the sensation and circulation in your fingers after application.
  3. Have a play. Practise your application and don’t be afraid to adjust it to suit your needs.
  4. Give yourself time. Apply the tape 15–30 mins before the action starts, or before you apply any chalk.

REMOVAL
Please take care when removing tape. Keep skin taut and peel the tape away in reverse.

HOW TO RIP TEARABLE EAB

Leave the scissors in the drawer. These tips will make ripping your roll of TEAR EAB faster, and is oh-so satisfying.

  1. Wrap tape around the area circumferentially, keeping the tape close to the skin.

  2. Pinch tightly between your thumb and index finger of the same hand.

  3. Keeping the taped area completely still, rip away from you with picked hand.

WHEN NOT TO USE TEARABLE EAB

  • Never apply to broken or fragile skin.
  • Never tape an area that is unstable or severely swollen.
  • Don’t tape without a full, professional injury diagnosis.

ZINC OXIDE TAPE 3.8CM (Optional)

PURPOSE
Provides stability to your wrist, by preventing extension.

  1. Starting from the back of the hand, wrap your EAB around the wrist, directly over the joint line.

  2. Complete 2 full rotations around the wrist then bring the tape across the back of the hand, aiming between the thumb and index finger.

  3. Bring the tape across the palm and back under the wrist.

  4. Repeat the wrap 2-3 times, then check the level of restriction is sufficient.
    If not, reinforce with ZINC OXIDE TAPE.

ANKLE SUPPORT

TEAR EAB 5CM
PURPOSE
Provide light structural support to prevent ankle inversion.

  1. Extend the foot. Start taping from the top of the foot, bringing the tape under the arch and back to the top of the foot.

  2. Bring the tape around the back of the ankle, coming back to your starting position.

  3. Come back under the foot, angling the tape towards the heel. Bring the tape over the achilles.

KNEE SUPPORT

TEAR EAB 7.5CM
ZINC OXIDE TAPE 3.8CM (Optional)

PURPOSE
Protect the MCL and provide stability to the knee.

  1. If needed, apply Zinc Oxide Tape in an X pattern over the MCL.

  2. Starting on the quad, aim the EAB diagonally down across the line of the MCL.

  3. Wrap the EAB around the back of the calf twice, then bring it back over the MCL in an X pattern.

  4. Wrap the tape back around the quad, then repeat the shape if needed for extra support.

ELBOW SUPPORT

  1.  Flex the elbow to the desired level of restriction. Then, if needed, apply Zinc Oxide Tape in an X pattern.

  2. Aim the EAB diagonally down, across the centre of the elbow.

  3. Wrap the EAB around the back of the forearm, then bring it back over the front of the elbow in an X pattern.

  4. Wrap the tape around the upper arm, then repeat the shape if needed for extra support.

LIFTING BLOCKS

  • TEAR EAB 7.5CM
  • LIFTING BLOCKS
  • SOCK TAPE (Optional)

PURPOSE
Secure Lifting Blocks to your leg, ready to get airborne in a line out.

  1. Sitting down with your knee at 90, place the lifting block on the front of your upper leg.

  2. Stretch the TEAR EAB and place it down directly over your Lifting Block.

  3. Wrap the TEAR EAB around your leg 2-3 times to secure the Lifting Block in place.
