Product Usage Instructions

Baby Unit
The baby unit of the PNI B6500 Audio Baby Monitor includes various features:

  • A – L ED indicator
  • B – On/off button (long press to operate)
  • C – Night light
  • D – Microphone

Power Supply

  • The baby unit is powered by 3 AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.
  • To charge the batteries, use the provided power cable and connect it to a MicroUSB port on the unit.

Parent Unit
The parent unit of the PNI B6500 Audio Baby Monitor includes several functions:

  • E – LED indicator
  • F – PTT button (press and hold to talk to the child remotely)
  • G – Control night light on/off on the child unit
  • H – Volume control
  • I – On/off button (long press to operate)
  • J – Microphone

Power Supply
The parent unit also uses 3 AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. Follow the same charging procedure as the baby unit.

Pairing the Two Units
If the units lose communication, press and hold the on/off button on both units simultaneously for about 5 seconds to pair them again.

To charge the batteries, insert one end of the power cable (included) into the Micro-USB port on the back of the unit and the other end into a 230V USB adapter (not included). Also, the unit can be powered with alkaline batteries (not included). Warning: Do not charge alkaline batteries!

Pairing the two units
Note: the two units are paired from the factory.
If a problem occurs and the two units no longer communicate even though they are within the recommended range, follow the procedure below to pair them again: Press and hold the on /off button on both units simultaneously for about 5 seconds.

Out of range
When the two units are too far from each other, an alarm is triggered: the parent unit will emit a continuous beep, and the LED on both units will flash red /green.

Discharged battery
When the batteries installed in any of the units are discharged, the unit will beep every 30 seconds and the LED will flash red.

Pager (unit location)
Briefly press the on /off button on the child unit to send a signal to the parent unit to locate it. The parent unit will output a Di .., Di .., Di .. sound until you briefly press the on /off button.

Night light
You can turn the night light on or off by 3 methods:

  1. Briefly press the power button on the parent unit once.
  2. Briefly press the side button (C-night light) on the parent unit.
  3. Briefly press the on /off button on the child unit 3 times.

As long as there are noises in the child’s room, the child unit will emit continuously. Approximately 30 seconds after the interruption of any noise, the unit will enter standby mode (no longer emits). When the unit detects noise again, it starts emitting. The time when it starts emitting depends on the set sensitivity.

Microphone sensitivity control

K – Microphone sensitivity adjustment (Hi/Lo)

  • Move the knob to the right to activate the low sensitivity of the microphone, a setting suitable for noisy environments or when the child unit is close to the child. The child unit starts emitting when the sound reaches 60 dB.
  • Move the knob to the left to activate the high sensitivity of the microphone, setting suitable for quiet environments or when the child unit is further away from the child. The child unit starts emitting when the sound reaches 50.

Note: Position the child unit 1 – 3 meters away from the child.
