Functions and usage instructions
Tunr the radio on/off and Volume control
Rotate the knob [5] clockwise to turn the radio on. The radio will vocally
announce the current channel number. Continue rotating right or left to adjust
the volume to the desired level.
Rotate the knob [5] counterclockwise to turn the radio off.
Transmission/reception
Press the PTT key to transmit. The red light will turn on. Talk towards the
radio’s microphone. Release the PTT key to receive.
Channel scan
Press the key [9] to activate the channel scan function. The radio will scan
all 16 channels and stop on the channel on which it receives a signal. After
the signal disappears, the radio will resume the scanning process.
Monitor function
Press the key [9] to monitor the current channel. Thus, the squelch will be deactivated and you will be able to listen on the selected channel if someone emits. If no one emits, you will only hear the background noise.
Squelch
By default, the squelch is active and is set to level 3 (from a maximum of 9
levels).
Time out Timer
This function limits the transmission time to prevent a channel from being
occupied for a long time. By default, the radio allows a maximum transmission
time of 60 seconds.
Energy saving
This function reduces power consumption when no signal is received or when no
operation is performed (no key is pressed) for 10 seconds.
When the radio receives a signal or a key is pressed, the battery saving
function is automatically deactivated.
Low battery warning
When the battery of the radio is discharged, the red LED will flash and you
will be warned vocally.
To charge the battery, position the radio in the charging cradle included in
the package. During charging, the red LED on the base stays on and will turn
green when the battery is fully charged.
