GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Mounting Instructions
- The SGLO surface mount fixture is designed to mount to any ceiling or wall conduit box by using the universal mounting plate.
- Knockouts and mounting holes are also provided in the center of the top of the housing for mounting to the ceiling.
- Knockouts and mounting holes are also provided in the center of one long side and one end for mounting to a wall.
- Figure 1 provides an overall view of the fixture and shows all the critical dimensions. Refer to this illustration as you mount the fixture.
- Remove the Edge-Glo Exit fixture and hardware from the box. Inspect contents to ensure that no damage occurred during shipment.
- Remove the two screws securing the wireway and remove the wireway from the housing.
- Determine where the Edge-Glo fixture is going to be mounted.
- Remove and retain the two screws from the conduit box. Orient the universal mounting plate to the conduit box so that the studs align with the mounting holes in the fixture.
- Attach the plate using the screws removed from the conduit box. (The universal mounting plate may not need to be used in ceiling mount installations. Use the plate if the conduit box plate does not match the hole configuration in the housing).
- Pull the AC feed wires through the center hole in the universal mounting plate.
- Remove the appropriate knockouts from the housing depending on the mounting configuration.
- Place the cover plate over the universal mounting plate as shown in Figure 2. (The cover plate does not need to be used in ceiling mount applications).
- Pull the AC feed wires into the housing.
- Secure the housing to the mounting plate with two lock washers and nuts.
- Using wire nuts (not supplied) connect wires from the wireway to the AC feed. Connect the Green wire to ground, White wire to Common, and Black wire to 120VAC or Blue Wire to 277VAC (cap off an unused wire to prevent shorting).
- Reattach the wireway to the housing using the two screws removed in Step 2.
- To install the EXIT panel, squeeze the ends of each torsion spring together and insert the ends into the slots in the wireway. Slowly release the springs, making sure that they stay in the slots. Carefully push the panel into place.
- Energize the AC circuit and ensure that the fixture lights.
