Installation Instructions

WARNINGS

  • Before starting ensure that the power is disconnected.
  • All gaskets and hardware used on luminaire must be in place.
  • Obey all torque requirements to prevent danger of falling  luminaires or falling parts.

PREPARE ELECTRICAL WIRING

Electrical Requirements

  • The LED driver must be supplied at 120~277V, 50/60 Hz and  connected to an individual, properly grounded branch circuit   protected by a 20-ampere circuit breaker. Use min 75 oC supply.

Grounding Instructions

  • The grounding and bonding of the overall system shall be done in accordance with NEC Article 600 and local codes.
  • When servicing maintain the ground connection between the luminaire and lid.
Tools Required: Hardware Supplied:
#2 Phillips Screwdriver 5/16″-18 Hex Nut
Flat Head Screwdriver 5/16″-18 Threaded Arm Rods (2x)
Wire Strippers Lock-Washers (2x)
Wire Cutters O-ring (2x)
Hex Bit Socket Wrench or Combo Wrench (1/2″) Fixture Flat Bracket (1x)
Silicone Caulk Pole Mount Flat Back Bracket (1x)

Pole Mount Flat Gasket (2x)

  • Use the Pole Mount Flat Bracket to secure the thread rods to the pole. The slotted ends should be facing away from the pole.

  • Align with the holes in the pole and thread through the the Pole Mount Flat Bracket on the inside of the pole using a flat head screwdriver.

  • Slide the pole mount arm over the two threaded rods.

  • Open the LED driver compartment from the underside of the fixture.

  • Feed the rods through the pole mount gasket, and secure the fixture to the pole mount using the spring washers and nuts inside the compartment. Tighten to 132in-lbs.
    Product Disruption

  • Connect the power leads with the included wire nuts according to the wiring diagram.

  • Close the LED driver compartment door and secure it with the supplied screws.

WARNING:

Never attempt to adjust or service unit with power on. Make sure fixture is cool before servicing.

Operation Options

PHOTOCELL OPTION

This operation enables the light fixture to automatically turn ON when dark outside and turn OFF when the sun rises.

  • To enable dusk-to-dawn operation, remove temporary black label cover and ensure the photocell has no cover on it and is unobstructed.
  • Ensure the switch powering the outlet connected to the light fixture is always turned to the ON position and leave it ON to enable dusk-to-dawn functionality to operate automatically.

TIP: To test if the light fixture and photocell works properly, run power to the fixture and cover the photocell to turn fixture ON. Shine a light into the photocell to see if fixture turns OFF.

NOTE: If photocell is in an area under heavy shade, the photocell may not detect enough light and may turn the light fixture ON.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible Cause Solution

Light does not
turn ON| No power to the fixture| Check if circuit breaker is tripped.Confirm wall switch is ON.Verify wiring to fixture is correct (turn power off to fixture beforehand).
Fixture is sensing daylight| Cover photocell. Wait several seconds until fixture turns ON.
Light cycles
ON and OFF
continuously| Photocell light sensor is
sensing reflected light| Relocate light fixture to a location where there is no reflected light. OR place the provided black cover sticker over the photocell light sensor window and use the wall switch to turn the light ON and OFF.
Light
FLICKERS| The light fixture is wired
through a dimmer switch.| Do not use a dimmer switch to control the light fixture.Replace the dimmer switch with a standard ON/OFF wall switch.
Light stays ON| Light sensor is in
a shaded area| Shine a flashlight into the light sensor for a few minutes. If the light turns OFF, the fixture should be moved to a location with enough light in the daylight hours for the light sensor to work. OR place provided black cover sticker over the photocell light sensor window and use the wall switch to turn the light ON and OFF.
Light Sensor is faulty| If the light does not turn off when a flashlight is shined on the light sensor for a few minutes, then the sensor may be faulty. Please contact customer service.

To adjust output wattage, remove all screws from the LED driver compartment door seen in Figure 4 to access the FAO.
Product Disruption

Position NFAO (Field Adjustable Output) to desired level. The AL70 has switch settings between 72W and 50W, while the AL150 has switch settings between 145W and 95W.

Motion Sensor Settings

Note that the motion sensor has a max detection height of 40ft.

By default, the motion sensor will be set with the following parameters:

  • The motion sensor sensitivity is set to 50%
  • When motion is detected by the PIR sensor, the luminaire returns to full power/light output (100%)
  • Dimming on low is factory set to 50% with 5 minutes default in “full power” prior to dimming back to low (meaning that it stays on at 100% after motion for 5 mins).
  • When no motion is detected after 5 minutes, the motion response system reduces the wattage by 50%, to  50% of the normal constant wattage, reducing the light level.
  • Other dimming settings can be adjusted manually using the instructions below

Detection Range Setting (Sensitivity)

Detection range is the term used to describe the radii of the more or less circular detection zone produced on the ground after mounting the sensor light at a height of 40ft, pull switch to the ON position as “↑”, pull switch to the OFF position as “↓”, switch location and detection range of the corresponding table is as follows:

**Hold Time Setting

**

The light can be set to stay ON for any period of time between approximately 10sec and a maximum of 60min.

Any movement detected before this time elapse will re-start the timer. It is recommended to select the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone and for performing the walk test.

Pull switch to the ON position as “↑”, pull switch to the OFF position as “↓”, switch location and detection range of the corresponding table is as follows:

The chosen light response threshold can be infinitely from approximately 10-50 Lux, pull switch to the ON position as “↑”, pull switch to the OFF position as “↓”, switch location and light-control of the corresponding table is as follows:

Stand-by Light Level Setting

Switch to the on is “↑”,switch to the off is “↓”; Switch location and Stand-by light level of the corresponding table is as follows:

Switch to the onis “↑”,switch to the of fis “↓”; Switch location and stand-by time of the corresponding table is as follows.

Daylight Control Will be Set OFF by default. To turn it back on, press the button.

Daylight Sensor Control

  • When the light level exceeds this setting, the lights will turn off even when the space is occupied.
  • Once the light level exceeds this setting, the sensor   will wait and monitor for 1min in order to confirm the light level increase is not temporary before forcing the lights to go off.
  • When the light level goes below the settings, the  light will turn on even without motion detection after 1min. waiting time.
  • This feature is disabled by default.
