Axe safety instruction
- You are permitted to transport your axe, although we recommend that you store it in a cover.
- Before using your axe, check that the axe head is secure. Never use an axe if the axe head is loose.
- Never use an axe head as a hammer, as this can cause the axe head to loosen. A loose axe head makes your axe a hazardous instrument.
- Always use the axe correctly so the blade cannot hit hard materials such as stones. Improper use can result in damage to the steel edge and/or personal injury.
- Only use the ax for intended purpose.
- Check that your axe is sharp and that there are no nicks in the blade and shaft.
- Always clean your axe after use. A wet and dirty axe will rust and become blunt. Occasionally lubricate the axe head with oil and always store the saw dry to avoid rust.
- Never leave your axe unattended. Store out of the reach of children.
Saw safety instruction
- You should saw only in timber that is wider than your wrist. When you start to saw, carefully draw the saw towards you 5-8 times to make a slit (called a kerf). This makes it easier for you to cut straight.
- Never leave a saw lying on the ground.
- Protect the saw blade when not in use.
- Always clean your saw after use. A wet and dirty saw will rust and become blunt.
- Do not leave your saw unattended. Store out of the reach of children.
