Safety warnings and regulations

WARNING

This appliance may be used by children from eight years of age and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been trained in the safe use of the appliance and that they understand the associated dangers.
This appliance should not be used by children under the age of eight.
This appliance and its components are not toys, so children should not play with the appliance or its components.
Children, legally incompetent persons and domestic animals should be supervised while using the appliance. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.
RISK OF SUFFOCATION! Keep packaging away from children.
This appliance is intended for domestic use and similar applications such as
staff kitchens in shops, offices and other work environments;
farms and guests in hotels, motels, B&B and other residential environments;
catering and similar non-retail applications.
This appliance is for indoor use only. This appliance should not be used outdoors.
This appliance is not intended for mounting on walls, ceilings or windows.
The appliance must be stored in a room free of naked flames, gas-powered appliances or electric heaters.
The appliance must be stored in such a way so as to prevent mechanical failure.
Store the appliance out of reach of unauthorised persons and do not allow anyone unfamiliar with the appliance and these instructions to use it.
Do not use the fan at temperatures above 40°C, in the vicinity of heating equipment or in dusty areas.
Take preventive measures to prevent the circulation of gases in the room; close doors and windows.

Install the appliance in accordance with the installation instructions. Incorrect installation may cause electric shocks, fire and/or property damage.
Use only the accessories provided for the installation.
Ensure that the plug and socket are clearly visible and accessible at all times.

WARNING

Safety of persons

Always be alert and act with caution. Do not use electrical appliances if you suffer from impaired concentration or lack of awareness, or if you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications. Even the slightest distraction can lead to serious accidents and injuries when using electrical appliances.
Always operate and use the appliance as described in these instructions for use. Assume that what is not specified here is also not possible.
RISK OF SUFFOCATION! Keep packaging materials out of reach of children. Packaging materials are not toys.

Safety in use

WARNING! Do not use a damaged appliance but contact customer service. See Foreword for the contact details.
RISK OF TRIPPING! Lay the power cable outside the walking route.
Ensure that the power cable is not stepped on and that no furniture or other items are placed on it.
Follow the maintenance instructions for trouble-free use and long service life.
Do not use the appliance in the vicinity (at least one metre away) of highly flammable or explosive substances or fuels.
Never expose the appliance to a naked flame.
Do not use paint, cleaning sprays, anti-insect sprays, etc. on or near the appliance. This may cause deformation of the housing or electrical damage.
Do not expose the appliance to rain or use it in damp or wet environments, such as the bathroom and laundry room, nor near a bath, shower or swimming pool.
Do not use the appliance close to a fire source, close to splashing oil, direct sunlight or splashing water.
Do not spill or pour any water, oil or liquid on or into the appliance, or submerse the appliance, cord or plug into water or other liquid.
Always move and/or relocate the appliance calmly.
Do not operate the appliance if you notice damage to the appliance, the power cable or the plug, or if does not work properly, has fallen or otherwise malfunctions. Contact customer service for further information (See Foreword for contact details).
Unplug the appliance if you hear strange noises, smell an odour or see smoke.
Do not insert fingers or objects such as pens through the grilles in the device and especially warn children of these dangers.
RISK OF FIRE! Do not place objects on the appliance and never cover the appliance. Never block the grilles for incoming and outgoing air, not even partially. This can cause fire!
Do not climb or stand on the appliance.
If the appliance is not in use, or when cleaning it, carrying out maintenance or moving it, first switch it off and then remove the plug from the socket.
Ensure that the fan is on a firm, flat and horizontal surface during use.
Do not leave a working fan unattended in a room.
Do not hang anything over or on the fan and do not use it in the vicinity of curtains, clothing or other materials that may cause the motor to jam. This can lead to overheating or fire.
Make sure that long hair is not sucked into the fan.
Keep the suction and vent grille clean and dust-free and ensure at least 30 cm of free space around the fan.
Do not connect the fan to a timer or a dimmer.

Safety instructions: electrical safety

DANGER! Risk of fire / flammable materials.

Before use, check that the voltage on the socket you want to use matches that on the type plate of the appliance (220-240 V; 50 Hz). Damage caused by faulty voltage is not covered by the guarantee.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Only use the appliance’s factory-fitted plug and never change it. The plug must match the type of socket used to reduce the risk of electric shocks.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Do not remove the earth contacts from the plug.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Never pull the power cable to carry or move the appliance or to disconnect the plug. Keep the power cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges or corners and moving parts. Do not make any changes to the power cable or submerge it in water or other liquids. Do not turn or kink the power cable, do not roll up the power cable too tightly after use and do not wind it up around the appliance; this may damage the insulation layer! Damaged or tangled power cables increase the risk of electric shocks.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Do not touch the appliance, plug or mains cable with wet or damp hands.
Fully unroll the appliance’s power cable before plugging it into the socket. This is to prevent heat generation in the cable.
Do not pass the power cable under a carpet or cover it with mats, runners and the like. This can lead to unforeseen heat generation.
Regularly check the appliance for damage to the power cable and plug. If there is visible damage, a strong smell, or parts become excessively hot, stop using it immediately and remove the plug from the socket.
It is not permitted to open, change or repair the appliance yourself.
Do not drill holes into the appliance anywhere to avoid dangerous situations. The appliance, plug and/or cable must be repaired and/ or replaced by an electrician or an equivalent qualified person.
Repairs by amateurs invalidate the guarantee and can cause dangerous situations!

USE

Important information

Read and follow all instructions in the Safety Instructions section.
Do not leave a working appliance unattended, even for a moment!
Do not leave the appliance unattended with the plug in the socket.
Select a suitable place for use that satisfies the following points:
- a firm, flat and horizontal surface;
- near an electrical socket;
- on all sides of the appliance always at least 10 cm free space and away from curtains;
- at least one metre from televisions or radios to prevent electromagnetic interference.

ATTENTION! Never use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents, white spirit, detergents, impregnated wipes or other cleaning solutions. These may damage the housing and appliance.

Turning the appliance on and off

To turn the appliance on:

Before using the appliance, make sure that all safety precautions have been observed.

Control button (rear) at 0
Insert the plug
Choose the desired speed:
1 = low
2 = average
3 = high
0 = switch off

For switching off always first switch to 0, then remove the plug from the socket.

Adjusting the blowing direction

Turn off the fan, and unplug the plug when adjusting the blowing direction. To do this, hold the safety grille around the fan blades in both hands and turn it to the desired position.
The fan can tilt approximately 120°.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Important information

Carry out cleaning and maintenance as indicated. This extends the life of the appliance and will keep it working properly.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Before cleaning and maintenance, turn off the appliance with the power button and remove the plug from the socket. Ensure that the plug is not accidentally plugged into the socket during the activities.
RISK OF BURNS! Wait until all hot parts of the appliance have cooled down before starting cleaning and maintenance.
WARNING! Never spray the appliance and make sure no water gets into it. Never use aggressive cleaning agents, white spirit, detergents, impregnated wipes or other cleaning solutions. These may damage the housing and appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.

Cleaning the housing

To clean the housing:

Touch the power button to switch off the appliance and remove the plug from the socket.
Use a soft damp cloth to wipe the housing.
Then wipe the appliance dry with a soft cloth.

MALFUNCTIONS AND SOLUTIONS

The following cases are not always a fault. See the possible solutions before asking for service.

PROBLEM	CAUSE	SOLUTION

The appliance does not start when the power button is touched or the ON/OFF button of the remote control is pressed.| The appliance is not powered.|

Check that the plug is in the socket and that the cable or plug is not damaged.
Check that the RCD is switched on.
Check that there is no power failure.

| A fuse has blown in the meter cabinet.| Unplug the appliance and check the fuses in the meter cabinet. If the problem persists, contact customer service (see Foreword for contact details).
The appliance makes a noise.| The surface on which the appliance is placed is not firm, flat or horizontal.| Move the appliance to a place with a firm, flat and horizontal surface.

TAKING OUT OF SERVICE

If the appliance is stored for a longer period, the following measures must be taken:

Turn the power button to turn off the appliance.
Remove the mains plug from the socket.
Clean the appliance in accordance with the instructions in Cleaning and maintenance.
If possible, pack the appliance in its original packaging or in a plastic bag and put it in a dry place.

WARNING!
Do not place heavy objects on the appliance. This may cause deformations and damage to the appliance.

WASTE DISPOSAL

Dispose of the appliance as waste

This symbol on the product indicates that this product must not be treated as normal household waste, but should be collected separately.
Return the product to a collection point for recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment if you live within the EU or in other European countries that have separate collection systems for waste electrical and electronic equipment. By properly disposing of the product as waste, you help to avoid potential environmental and public health risks that could otherwise arise from mishandling discarded equipment.
