Introduction

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to organise personal work schedules, to monitor and obtain feedback on work performance and to maintain required levels of competence.
The unit applies to individuals who exercise discretion and judgements and apply a broad range of competencies in various work contexts.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Assessment Task 1: Written Assessment

Instructions for this task:

Answer all questions in the space provided.

You will be required to have a good understanding of the following areas:

  1. Organisational policies and procedures relevant to work tasks
  2. Goals, objectives and key performance indicators for task within scope of job role
  3. Methods to elicit, analyse and interpret feedback when communicating with other people in the workplace
  4. Content of work plans including:
  5. Timeframes
  6. Tasks requirements
  7. Risks
  8. Contingencies for identified risks
  9. Types of personal learning and professional development requirements
  10. Principles and techniques of goal setting, measuring performance and time management
  11. Signs and sources of stress and strategies to deal with stress in the workplace
  12. Methods to identify and priorities personal learning needs

Benchmark

You must get all questions 100% correct and all documentation requested in this assessment is submitted to gain a satisfactory in this task.

Assessment Task 2: Case Study

Instructions for this task:

You are to answer the following questions. These can be handwritten or word processed (unless otherwise specified). If handwritten, they must be neatly written and legible for the assessor to be able to mark them. You must reference to the source of information for each answer.
Ask your Assessor to clarify items you are unsure about prior to commencing. Complete all tasks as stated and submit all work for assessment by the due date.

You will be required to have a good understanding of the following areas:

  1. Develop work goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) according to task and organisational requirements
  2. Prioritise workload according to task timeframes
  3. Identify factors affecting achievements of work objectives
  4. Develop personal work plans
  5. Identify variations between expected and actual work performance according to task requirements and KPIs
  6. Report variations to relevant personnel
  7. Seek feedback from relevant personnel for solutions to minimise variations in expected and actual work outputs
  8. Research sources of stress and access appropriate supports according to organisational policies and procedures

Using the Assessment Matrix below you are to achieve at least a rating of 100% to be deemed satisfactory in this task. You must complete all activities in full and you must answer all questions in full.
You must demonstrate that you are able to organise personal work priorities.
