Safety instructions
These assembly instructions and the assembly steps and instructions described
are an integral part of and prerequisite for certification by TÜV Rheinland
and UL.
Stäubli Electrical Connectors (Stäubli) does not accept any liability in the
event of failure to observe these warnings.
Installation, electrotechnical expertise
The products may be assembled and installed by electrically skilled or instructed persons duly observing all applicable safety regulations.
Caution, risk of electric shock
Work in a de-energized state Follow the five safety rules, when working on electrical installations. After the respective electrical installations have been identified, the following five essential requirements shall be undertaken in the specified order unless there are essential reasons for doing otherwise:
- disconnect completely;
- secure against re-connection;
- verify absence of operating voltage;
- carry out grounding and short-circuiting;
- provide protection against adjacent live parts.

Do not disconnect under load
Disconnect Under Load: PV plug connections must not be disconnected while
under load.
During no-load operation plugging and unplugging when live is permitted (by
switching off the DC/AC converter or breaking the AC circuit).

Screw assembly
Operation
Unlocking of connections
Unlocking MC4
Push the unlocking pins of PV-MS-PLS/1 onto the locking clips of the socket
and separate the connection.
Unlocking MC4 with locking clip PV-SSH4
Push the unlocking pins of PV-MS-PLS/1 into the openings provided in PV-SSH4
and onto the locking clips of the socket and separate the connection.
Unlocking MC4-Evo 2
Push the unlocking pins of PV-MS-PLS/2 into the openings provided in the plug
onto the locking clips of the socket and separate the connection.
Unlocking the TwinBox plug
Push the unlocking pins of PV-MS-PLS/1 onto the locking clips of the MC4
socket and pull the socket out of
the plug housing of the TwinBo Screw assembly of connect- tions. (ill. 5)
MC4
Insert the housing of the MC4 socket or plug in the assembly opening (holder)
of the PV-MS-PLS/2 and screw
on the cap nut with the ring spanner of the PV-MS-PLS/1.
MC4-Evo 2
Insert the housing of the MC4-Evo 2 socket or plug in the assembly opening
(holder) of the PC-MS-PLS/1 and screw on the cap nut with the ring spanner of
the PV-MS-PLS/2.
Note:
i 1 Further details on screwing the cap nut onto the plug connector are given
in the assembly instructions MA231 (MC4) and MA273 (MC4-Evo 21MisuseDo not
