Product Usage Instructions
Mounting Method 1A: Retrofit Install
- Using an appropriate hole saw or drywall cutter, drill/cut a location for the fixture.
- Fish the power lead wires from the Power Supply through the cutout for easy access.
Mounting Method 1B: New Construction Install
- Align the hanger bars on the plaster frame to the ceiling joists in the desired location. Fasten them to the joist by hammering in the tabs on the hanger bars or with nails (supplied by others).
- Mark the fixture center opening on the floor with a plumb line. Route the DC power leads to the plaster frame Fitting Attachment holes with some slack to have ready to connect to the downlight. Use the provided wire clip to help retrieve the wire during the next stages of installation. Make sure wires aren’t too close to the fixture opening to avoid damaging wires in step 1B.4.
- Install the drywall to the joists. Mark the fixture rough center from the plumb line mark on the floor.
- Create a cutout using a cutting tool.
- Note: The Cutting Tool aka RotoZip cutter will follow the hole in the Plaster Frame as a guide to create the hole which keeps everything concentric*

Installation Instructions
Mounting Method 1A: Retrofit Install
- 1A Using appropriate hole saw or drywall cutter, drill/cut location for fixture. Fish the power lead wires from Power Supply through the cutout for easy access.
Mounting Method 1B: New Construction Install (SLD-5 Shown)
- 1B.1 Align the hanger bars on the plaster frame to the ceiling joists in desired location. Fasten them to the joist by hammering in the tabs on the hanger bars or with nails (supplied by others)
- 1B.2 Mark fixture center opening on floor with plumbline. Route the DC power leads to the plaster frame Fitting Attachment holes with some slack to have ready to connect to the downlight. Use provided wire clip to help retrieve the wire during the next stages of installation. Make sure wires aren’t too close to the fixture opening to avoid damaging wires in step 1B.4

Junction Box Housing And Plaster Plate Install
Junction Box Housing Install (OPTIONAL)
- For Optional Junction Box Housing install, knock out desired box entry.
- Connect fitting and supply cable Mount to Diecast Plaster Plate with supplied srews.
Plaster Plate Install
- Use screw driver to raise drywall clamps before placing through hole.
- Insert Plaster Plate into hole and secure to desired angle with clamping screws. Clamp bracket will self rotate into position and stop at set angle, continue screwing until the brackets compress the ceiling and plate.
- A – Ensure fixture aperture mud plug is in place and tape perimeter.
- B – First coating of fast curing compound, sand when dry. Then finish pass with drywall compound, sand when dry.
- C – Remove mud plug and Paint.
- Fish your DC feed from Power Supply. Connect the fixture to the power leads using the 72” whip supplied on fixture.
- Use of mudding tape suggested when plastering the fixture.
Fixture Removal
- Insert the two mini prybar tools included with the fixture into the two slots on the inside of the fixture.
- Slowly pull the fixture out using the two mini prybar tools.
Accessory Install & Removal
- Optional lens accessories can be simply snapped into the fixture LED bar to secure.
- If needed: Lens accessory can be removed by inserting the mini prybar tool in between the endcap and the fixture head. Followed by a careful gentle prying out of the accessory.
Aimming Fixture
- If neccessary fixture head beam angle is adjustable. Carefully press on the edge of the LED bar to either side to desired angle. Max rotation is ± 30°. .
- Once desired angle is acheived it can be further secured but the set screws on the endcaps.
- CAUTION: Minimal tension of the set screw is required to secure the bar.
