STEP 1 Prior to installation, be sure to test the tailgate light bar by temporarily connecting the 4-pin flat connector to the trailer tow hardness to ensure full functionality.
For trucks do not have a 4-pin trailer tow harness, you will have to hardwire the light bar into the truck’s existing wiring and test the running, brake and turn signals for full functionality. See test steps as below:
- First, strip the wire of the tail light assembly or the 7 pin tow harness.
- Activate a function (running, turn signal, brake, or reverse)
- Use a voltmeter to read which wire is showing 12-14V
- Repeat with the each wire till all wires have been identified, mark down each wire if necessary.
STEP 2
Remove tailgate from vehicle.
STEP 3
Thoroughly clean the area where the tailgate light bar will be mounted.
STEP 4
Mark out where you want to mount the included clips, taking straightness and
placement into consideration.

firmly to the cleaned area.
STEP 5

cleaned area.
