Webasto TC4 ThermoCall Advanced Smart Phone Remote Control

Operation

With the ThermoCall TC4 you can switch your parking heater on and off no matter how far away you are. ThermoCall TC4 is operated by SMS, a call from a landline/mobile network or with the ThermoCall app.

•  It is not permitted to operate the ThermoCall TC4 if the indicator lamp in the button is not on. Check that the indicator lamp is on every time you use the system. Contact your Webasto service partner if the indicator lamp does not light.
• Before starting up the ThermoCall TC4, please read through the general operating instructions for your Webasto parking heater and the installation instructions on the enclosed CD.
• Take into account the location of your vehicle when setting up the connection.
• In heating mode, the vehicle heating system must be set to “warm” before leaving the vehicle. In heating and ventilation mode, set a 3-speed vehicle fan to speed 1 and a 4-speed fan to speed 2. In the case of infinitely variable fans adjust to at least 1/3 of the fan’s capacity.
• Both with the Thermo Top E/C and with the Thermo Top Evo heaters, we recommend setting the heating time in accordance with the subsequent driving time to prevent discharging the battery. With a driving time of approx. 30 minutes (one way), we recommend setting a heating time of 30 minutes.
• The GSM module is set to a heating time of 30 minutes at the factory. The heating time can be set to between 5 and 120 minutes. Continuous heating is also possible. Details are provided on the following pages.

Operation with the ThermoCall app

(Android, iOS or Windows Phone smartphones)

To install the ThermoCall app on your smartphone:

Scan the corresponding QR code and install the ThermoCall app (see 1.1 App Setup)
Or:
Find the ThermoCall app in the Apple AppS-tore, Google Play Store or in the Windows Phone Store by entering “ThermoCall” and install.

Operation via SMS

Send the SMS command to the call number of the SIM card in the ThermoCall TC4. The respective functions (see table) are activated or deactivated.

Operating with a phone call

Select the call number of the SIM card installed in the ThermoCall TC4. Make sure that the telephone number you use to call the ThermoCall TC4 is stored in the ThermoCall TC4 beforehand (via SMS or app), see SMS message 1234ACCLIM: XXXXXXX (phone number authorization). After the connection has been successfully established, the ThermoCall TC4 acknowledges the call with a tone. With the heater switched off, the call is confirmed by the ThermoCall TC4 with 3 tones. After the connection is disconnected, the parking heating or parking ventilation operation starts for the set period of time (factory setting 30 minutes). The indicator lamp of the button in the vehicle lights up. With the heater switched on, the call is confirmed by the ThermoCall TC4 with 2 tones. The respective operating mode is ended. The indicator lamp in the button switches to displaying stand-by mode. Should the ThermoCall TC4 be called from a phone number not stored, then the connection will be ended without feedback. The respective heater operating mode remains unchanged.

Operating with push button

With the push button the heater can be switched on or off manually. If the heater is operating when the push button is pressed, then the current operating mode is ended. The indicator lamp in the button shows various operating statuses. Refer to the ThermoCall TC4 operating instructions for a complete overview of the operating statuses.

Important Information on Operating and Installation Instructions

Installation / Repair

• To install and repair control elements you need to have completed a Webasto training course and have the appropriate technical documentation, special tools and special equipment.
• Installation and repair may ONLY be carried out by persons trained and certified in a Webasto training course. NEVER try to install or repair control elements if you have not completed a Webasto training course, you do not have the necessary technical skills and you do not have the technical documentation, tools and equipment available to ensure that you can complete the installation and repair work properly.
• Only use genuine Webasto parts. See the Webasto air and water heaters accessories catalog for this purpose.
• Do not operate the heater in closed rooms due to the danger of poisoning and suffocation. Always switch off the heater before refueling.

ALWAYS follow all Webasto installation and operating instructions and observe all warnings. To become familiar with and understand all functions and properties of the control element, the operating instructions must be read carefully and observed at all times. You will find the operating instructions on the included CD. Should you not be able to access the operating instructions on the CD, you will also receive the operating instructions in the printed form directly from Webasto on request. Please contact the Webasto Service Centre for this purpose (see the brochure with the service phone numbers of the respective subsidiaries). For proper, safe installation and repair work, the installation instructions with all warnings and safety information must be carefully read and observed at all times. Please always contact a workshop authorized by Webasto for all installation and repair work.

Failure to follow the installation instructions will result in the invalidation of the type approval for the control element and therefore invalidation of the general homologation of the vehicle.
