How to operate your appliance

Connect the appliance to the mains supply. The appliance carries out a selfless, all indicators in the display light up briefly.
Place up to 2 slices of toast in the toasting slots.
Note: Make sure the crumb tray is inserted correctly.
The appliance is now in the setting mode and the display shows level 5, the preset average degree of browning.

If you want a lower or higher degree of browning, you can change this value in the range from 1-9 by touching the – or + button.

Note: The toasting result can vary with the same setting depending on the type of bread, size, moisture content and thickness of the slices. Therefore, if necessary, select a lower roast level first.
Note: If only one slice of bread is toasted, it will brown more than two slices at the same setting!

Start the toasting process by pressing the side slider down until it clicks into place. You can still adjust your settings within the first 10 seconds. The display then shows a countdown of the remaining minutes and seconds until the selected degree of browning is reached.

Note: The side slider only engages when the plug of the appliance is connected to the mains.

The toasting process ends automatically after the countdown has expired. The toasted food now protrudes from the toasting slots and can be removed.

CAUTION: Hazard of burns! Toasted food and the surface of the appliance are getting hot!
To check the progress of the toasting process or to stop it prematurely, touch the check/cancel button. The food is ejected immediately, the countdown pauses and the display flashes. Then you have 10 seconds to check the degree of roasting. If you want to continue the toasting process, press the side slider A down again within 10 seconds. The appliance restarts and continues the countdown with the residual runtime. If you are satisfied with the degree of roasting or if you want to interrupt the roasting process, remove the food. The appliance automatically switches to setting mode after 10 seconds.

Note: Die The last set toasting level remains saved as the starting value for further toasting processes until the appliance is disconnected from the power supply.

If you want to toast frozen slices of toast, touch the defrost button. The defrost symbol appears in the display next to the toasting level. The appliance automatically extends the toasting time so that the toast is first defrosted and then toasted to the selected degree of browning.
If you want to reheat toast, that has already been toasted and cooled, without toasting it too much, touch the reheat button. The reheat symbol appears in the display. The toasting process then starts with a shortened countdown of 30 seconds.

Roll toasting top
To heat up food that does not fit in the toast slots (e.g. baking bread rolls), use the additionally provided roll toasting top.
Unfold the stands completely and place the roll toasting top over the toast slots on top of the appliance so that it is firmly in place. Place the food on the roll toasting top. Then start a toasting process with empty toast slots by pressing down the side slider.

The rising heat warms the food on it
CAUTION: Hazard of burns!
Toasted food and roll toasting top are getting hot!
You can use the on/standby button to switch into standby mode at any time. Any active toasting process is stopped.
Notes:

  • If there is no operation for a period of 10 minutes, the appliance automatically switches to standby mode. The LCD display turns off.
  • By pressing any button, the appliance can be switched from standby mode back to setting mode and the last set roasting level appears on the display.
  • The appliance is equipped with an automatic toasting time adjustment. If another toasting process is started directly after a completed toasting process, the appliance calculates the residual heat and the countdown is shortened accordingly.
  • If the slide on the side is pushed down in standby mode, the appliance immediately starts a toasting process with the last set toasting level (quick start).

Disposal/recycling

Packaging material
Do not simply throw the packaging material away but recycle it. Deliver paper, cardboard and corrugated cardboard to waste paper collection points. Also put plastic packaging material and foils into the specific collection containers.

The printed or embossed markings indicate the materials which were used:
PE stands for polyethylene (code 02 means high-density PE, 04 stands for low- density PE), PS stands for polystyrene and CPE for chlorinated polyethylene. PAP 20 means corrugated cardboard and PAP 21 other cardboard. All plastics are thermoplastics which are very easy and efficient to produce. They are also very easy to recycle and therefore can even have a smaller ecological footprint than comparable cardboard packaging.

Disposal information
According to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (2012/19/ EU), this product may not be disposed of with other household waste at the end of its service life. Therefore please submit it e.g. at a municipal collection point (e.g. recycling center) according to the laws of your country of residence for the recycling of electrical and electronic appliances. Your municipality or city administration will inform you about the disposal options.

Tip: Give appliances that are no longer required but still functional to a charitable purpose (e.g. as a donation). This does not only improve the environmental balance and ensures more sustainability, but also testifies to a welcome social commitment.
