Before first use
Before first use, remove the lid with the power unit from the base by rotating
it counter-clockwise. Wash the metal freezer tank, paddle and shaft under
running water with detergent and wipe dry. Clean the other parts with a
moistened cloth and dry.
Preparation of the freezer tank
Dry the base with the freezer tank, place into a plastic bag and put in a
vertical position into the freezer operating at -18 °C for 24 hours(]).
Preparing ice cream mixture
Prepare ice cream mixture following the recipes below; always thoroughly stir
the mixture.
Before preparation in the ice cream maker, leave the mixture to cool in the
refrigerator for at least 8 hours, ideally over night. A properly cooled ice
cream mixture ensures the ice cream is made faster and is easier to scoop@.
Assembling the ice cream maker
Fit the shaft into the paddle and insert both parts into the opening in the
power unit in the bottom of the lid. Remove the base with freezer tank from
the freezer and from the plastic bag. Set the lid with the power unit onto the
base so that the filling hole and the thecoma logo are positioned in parallel
and rotate the lid a little clockwise until it is fastened in the base®.
Connect the power cable to a 230 V outlet and turn the ice cream maker on by
switching the “on/off” button to 1 ®·
Making ice cream
Pour the cooled ice cream mixture into the operating ice cream maker through
the filling hole up to 2 cm below the rim of the metal freezer tank (ice cream
expands when it freezes) ® and leave the machine to mix until the mixture has
the required thickness. The time depends on the kind of ice cream, coolness of
the mixture and the freezer tank and the temperature in the room. The usual
mixing time required for making ice cream is 20 to 40 minutes@. Visually
inspect the thickness of the mixture in the machine while mixing. Ice cream is
made when the mixture has the required ice cream consistency; discontinue the
process by switching the “on/off” button to 0.
Serving ice cream
- Rotate the lid a little counter-clockwise, remove the lid with the power unit from the base and remove the paddle with shaft. Gather the ice cream when done using a plastic or wooden spoon, spatula or scoop that will not damage the fine surface of the metal freezer tank and transfer it to cones or dishes®.
- Notice : To prepare a deep frozen solid ice cream, transfer the mixture from the ice cream maker to a suitable container and store it in the freezer for several hours. For storing ice cream in the freezer, we recommend Healthy containers for the freezer PURITY (codes 891862, 891864, 891866).
Cleaning
- Disconnect the ice cream maker from the grid before cleaning. If needed, push the flaps of the power unit on the bottom of the lid inside@, remove the power unit from the lid and clean each of the two parts separately.
- Clean the power unit using a moist cloth and dry. Do not wash under running water! Clean the lid without the power unit, the freezer tank, paddle and shaft under running water with detergent and wipe dry.
- Do not wash in dishwasher.
Maintenance
Do not repair a faulty ice cream maker yourself; instead contact a TESCOMA service center; for contact details, see www.tescoma.com.
Notice
-
Do not switch off the ice cream maker while mixing.
-
If the ice cream mixture becomes too thick, the paddle will stop and start operating in the reverse dire Dion.
This means the ice cream is done – discontinue the process. -
The thermal cut-out stops the machine from operating should the power unit become overheated due to the mixture being too thick. If this is the case, switch off the ice cream maker, disconnect it from the grid and do not switch on again for several minutes.
-
If the ice cream mixture contains alcohol, the time required for achieving the required consistency will be longer than usual.
-
Do not expose the freezer tank with coolant to heat, imp ads, etc.
