APPLICATION

The compact design of the portable Boom-Box makes it the ideal companion for trips, holidays, at home or at work. Its built-in battery can be charged using a USB-C connecting cable. It can be connected wirelessly to external devices such as mobile phones or computers. The appliance also has integrated USB/microSD MP3 player. Its built-in microphone allows you to receive phone calls without touching the phone. The speaker is located on one side of the appliance, while the passive subwoofer is on top. We recommend turning the speakers on the side towards the audience. (If you are facing the control panel, it is on the left side.) You can build a wireless stereo sound system from two identical units creating a stunning sound experience.

CHARGING THE BATTERY

The battery must be charged before first use. Connect the supplied USB-C charging cable to the DC5V socket under the foldable rubber cover.
Connect the other end to a standard USB charger (not included) with a minimum charging current of 500mA. If connected to a charger with a lower capacity, it may fail due to overloading. Recommended chargers: SA 24USB, SA 50USB. Caution! USB sockets on computers and various devices have different charging features. Check the load capacity of the charger or USB socket before connecting. Charging current maxima in general: USB2.0: 500mA / USB3.0, 3.1: 900mA / USB-C: 1.5A/3.0A
In charging mode, the LED light next to the charging socket indicates the charging process. It turns off when automatic charging is complete.
Disconnect the charging cable then from the sound box and start using the appliance. When the battery is fully discharged, the charging time is approximately 4 hours. The fully charged built-in battery offers about 15 hours of operation at  medium volume. This also depends on the volume set, the mode selected, the music style and the ambient temperature. This was tested by listening to the USB MP3 at room temperature with the LEDs switched off.

  • Basically, it is not recommended to listen to the appliance while charging, especially at high volumes. This will increase charging time and may cause additional noise and overheating. It may reduce battery life.
  • Low battery may cause poor sound quality, disconnection of the BT link or changes in the volume. You may hear a “Low Battery” announcement. In this case, start re-charging the battery immediately.
  • To increase lifetime, keep the battery charged when the unit is out of use.
  • The battery used is of lithium-ion type. It requires no maintenance. At the end of its lifetime, it should be removed by a professional and treated as hazardous waste.

SETUP AND OPERATION

Switch on the unit by pressing the (4.) button and holding it down (for 2 sec). Sound and light signals are emitted. Switching off can be done in the same way. The volume is adjusted by pressing and holding the buttons. When pressed briefly, they act as a stepping button, stepping the programme numbers. This is available for FM and MP3 playback, but not guaranteed in BT mode (because it is device dependent). When switched on, BT mode is active, indicated by a small flashing blue LED under the charger socket. Wait for pairing with the phone. The signal source to be operated can be selected by long pressing and holding the (6.) button: FM – BT – USB – microSD Multimedia  functions available: FM radio, BT wireless connection, USB MP3 player, microSD (TF) MP3 player. The available services and sound quality may vary depending on the signal source used. Function associated with non connected devices  are not available. For example, this is the case with the MP3 player mode without a USB storage device attached.
WIRELESS BT CONNECTION
Within a maximum range of 10 meters, the unit can be paired with other equipment communicating according to the BT protocol. After pairing, you can listen to music played on your mobile phone, tablet, notebook or other similar device. After switching on, first make the wireless connection. BT mode is waiting for pairing and no device is connected when a small blue LED flashes under the charger socket (and cover). Place the device to be paired in the vicinity of  the unit, and find nearby BT devices, including this sound box, as described in its operating manual. Connect the two devices. If connection is successful, the quickly flashing LED will illuminate continuously and short a beep sound will  be heard. The desired programme can then be heard on the speaker.
The player application on the playback device (e.g. a mobile phone) can usually be controlled remotely using the buttons on the control panel. These functions are not guaranteed, as communication with the mobile device depends on the  device. If available, the following functions can be controlled remotely: (6.) play and pause with a short press, skip forward and backward. The latter are also short-pressed, because long-pressing controls the volume.

  • For best sound quality, the volumes on the Boom-Box and the external playback device should be aligned.
  • You can adjust the tone on the connected external device using its controls. You can install a tone control app on your mobile device.
  • One speaker can be paired with one BT device at a time. For example, with a phone.
  • If wireless connection is lost and does not reconnect, keep pressing the button (6.) to reactivate the pairing mode. If necessary, switch the voice box or BT mode off and on again on the mobile device.
  • If connection fails, the unit will switch off after about 10 minutes.
  • If you receive a phone call to the connected mobile phone while listening to music, the music will pause. After your conversation, restart playback if it does not resume automatically.
  • The actual range depends on the other device and the environmental conditions.
  • Electrical devices operated nearby may cause abnormal operation or noise; this does not indicate a malfunction of the sound box!
  • Abnormal operation may be caused by the individual characteristics of the external device; this is not a sign of product malfunction. In certain cases, the BT functionality may be limited, depending on the external device.

TRUE WIRELESS STEREO BT CONNECTION
TWS mode: two sound boxes of the same type and having the same BT name can be paired with each other and with a phone. In this case, the two sound boxes are able to play the right and left sound channels in a wireless stereo sound system. Both sound boxes are switched to BT mode, but only one of them needs to be connected to the phone. Only one should be visible in the BT list of the phone. Press button (5.) twice quickly on one of the speakers. You will hear a beep, and soon the other speaker will beep – the two flashing blue LEDs will now be on steadily. You will then see only one speaker in the BT list on your phone, which you can connect to your phone.
